Hello Sir,
Do you know if Brutal Battles is compatible with Total Unit Resize? Thanks
Boo!  [author] 23 Aug, 2022 @ 11:50am
Nah. I'm too busy with irl stuff. I don't think I'll even buy WH3.
GammaZeta430 23 Aug, 2022 @ 11:45am
Any chance you'll port this to WH3?

i use JetXGorillaHyperForceGO's Dwarf Stubbornness - Increased Bracing Mass,
Verrik's Fire for Effect - Artillery Upgrades and GOW's Realistic Flame Weapons - Dwarf Upgrade im wonder if u know if these would have any issues with this mod
Boo!  [author] 6 Jun, 2019 @ 1:20am
Go ahead and try it in custom battles. I have no idea how unit formation mods work so I can't really say.
Ballistica 6 Jun, 2019 @ 12:21am
Would this work with a mod that adds more unit formations? Or would that throw off the spacing calculations?
Boo!  [author] 5 May, 2019 @ 4:28pm
It's a spacing mod. It is not compatible with realistic fight.
PastorDubbb 5 May, 2019 @ 4:01pm
stupid question, i really couldn't see much in the video or the description, are there more animations with that such as eagles throwing ppl in the air while killing them? or is it just a spacing mod? and is it compatible with sebidees flight?
Boo!  [author] 21 Apr, 2019 @ 6:33am
Check the compatibility section please.
thaygiaomap2000 21 Apr, 2019 @ 6:32am

Depends on the game.
danwright405 21 Oct, 2018 @ 2:07am
which brutal battles do I use?
Boo!  [author] 31 May, 2018 @ 10:57pm
Hah, go ahead and try it and see if it affects your performance. It's save game compatible.
JoergJoerg 31 May, 2018 @ 10:54pm
good news and thanks for the extremely fast answer
Boo!  [author] 31 May, 2018 @ 10:51pm
Although I've heard some people says it does, it doesn't affect my performance and it shouldn't because it just edits some unit spacings, basically.
JoergJoerg 31 May, 2018 @ 10:48pm
The main question is: Will this affet performance?
Velovar 1 Feb, 2018 @ 11:02pm
Thank you for awesome mod.
Boo!  [author] 1 Feb, 2018 @ 7:23pm
Thanks for confirming.
Velovar 1 Feb, 2018 @ 7:20pm

Boo!  [author] 25 Dec, 2017 @ 8:01pm
Glad you like it!
Scrubby 25 Dec, 2017 @ 7:43pm
This mod makes the factions feel proper dude. Love it. Reminds me of Rome 1 and Medieval 2.
chanh514 19 Dec, 2017 @ 10:27am
+1 im on epic idea :)
Boo!  [author] 19 Dec, 2017 @ 6:24am
Ah, I think I know what you're suggesting. Sadly, I'm not knowledgeable enough to do that, but I'm 90% sure my mod is compatible with Crysnos' Unit Formation Mod . Try it out.
chanh514 19 Dec, 2017 @ 5:35am
:) , sorry english is not my mains language i should keep working on , so i was trying to say to make the rectangle formation at a certains point when the charge animation startion to make the rectangle collapse into a charging concentration triangle point like a (I=formation in rectangle, > charge concentration) I vs <I = I<= or >< ( its the picture of what i meant i dont found the word for that you use it for oil for cars
Boo!  [author] 19 Dec, 2017 @ 5:27am
I didn't really understand much of what you wrote, but thanks for the kind words!
chanh514 19 Dec, 2017 @ 5:24am
for the issus about the formation to tight witch make more suseptible to colaspe under heavy fire to make a charging cone effect while in range so at a certains distant it will make impact concentration and before the ill stand a bit more separate so that may brink back the missing in motions effect , but its just an idea with another comment i saw lower about make space about 10% bigger or something around like 7.5% , otherwise great mod so mutch that i have buy the game twice for playing lane home , i great value mod i like it didnt try tw2 but it seem to be even better now since i know you have bring your project on it :) keep up you have fans on your trail
Boo!  [author] 26 Oct, 2017 @ 3:10am
I'm not sure, but it may not work since the formations are already packed like sardines. But maybe it will. Give it a try.
SausageSnacks 26 Oct, 2017 @ 2:23am
Will this mod and your WH2 version of this mod work with units that have their unit sizes enlargened through mods? also, is this compatable with mods that change unit stats?
Boo!  [author] 20 Oct, 2017 @ 1:19am
Very true and fair points. Glad you like the mod! You might notice that I've updated the mod so that it fits more in line with Warhammer II. This very slightly increases the spacing between the soldiers.
kyllebylle 19 Oct, 2017 @ 9:28am
@Boo! No, thank you for your time and effort! Well infantry *overall* is weaker because of two reasons.

1- infantry isn't as good at being a wall of bodies anymore.
2- infantry counter has always been mass arrow volleys, siege unit bombardment and cav charges to the side/rear, close spacing make infantry worst enemy even tougher to deal with.

Don't get me wrong, I love the mod, this is just what I found out after some testing.

The main problem is simply that their ability to swarm doesnt outweigh the drawbacks. While their offensive goes up by maybe 5% (fictional number) their worst enemies goes up by 10%.

This mods' strengh in my opinion is not in balancing the game, but making it way more entertaining to play and beautiful to watch. From my point of view that is more important when playing against AI anyway. It is a beautiful mod you need to witness, I cannot imagine going back to vanilla after this mod, even if I would appreciate something in between more if I had one wish!
Boo!  [author] 18 Oct, 2017 @ 6:29pm
Thanks for the review, kyllebylle. Although I'm interested how infantry is made weaker? True they're more susceptible to artillery attacks and monstrous charges, but they're also better at attacking due to their lessened radii, allowing more entities to dish out damage.
kyllebylle 18 Oct, 2017 @ 11:13am
To anyone who is curious about this mod: I tested some cavalry and infantry situations mainly and I found that Brutal Battles does make the battlefield feel WAY MORE realistic.

The good:
+More realistic (chaotic) unit interactions
+AWESOME charges

The bad:
-A bit too tight.
-Infantry is generally weaker, potentially disrupting the entire power balance between units and factions

Verdict:
I wouldn't recommend this to any try-hards, the new unit spacing kinda mess up unit balancing. I would however recommend it to anyone who is fine with playing at Hard and wants to have a good time watching beautiful fights.

The wish:
This mod imroves upon the original unit spacing but ultimately this mod is just a smudge too tight, some units get up real tight like the front row of a rock concers. I would have like maybe 10% less of the close unit spacing to get something in between this and the original.

Author, thanks for good work!
SausageSnacks 14 Oct, 2017 @ 4:52am
cool, thanks for the reply
Boo!  [author] 14 Oct, 2017 @ 3:50am
It should be.
SausageSnacks 14 Oct, 2017 @ 3:46am
Hey, i must ask, is this mod compatable with mods which change gun stats?
Eko Mana 13 Oct, 2017 @ 3:24am
Currently testing this mod with luckyspade's battle overhaul. I didn't see any major issue yet.
bambusek 10 Oct, 2017 @ 12:28pm
Nice mod. Just checked and it seems to work with SFO just fine, unit stats are from SFO and the battle lasts around the same amount of time. :)
Solace 5 Oct, 2017 @ 3:39pm
Oh gods yes. Please hurry! We love you Boo!
Viltae 5 Oct, 2017 @ 12:52pm
Definitely need that mod in TWW2 ! Thx !
Boo!  [author] 4 Oct, 2017 @ 4:50pm
I don't think there would be any conflicts between the two mods, but I'm not sure how the size changes of the models would affect spacing. You could try it out.
