Didn't need the blue gel. Still needed the orange gel though. Also, you can stand on the top ledge of the observation area window (or the blue gel spout) and place portals where you need to activate the excursion funnel to capture the companion cube and take it into the button-cup . I was able to create the hovering laser cube glitch once I removed the companion cube from under the stack. Although this is mostly irrelavent, it means it's technically possible to complete this map without the companion cube, if can replicate this glitch and your speed and portalling accuracy is high enough. Erm... mine wasn't quite up to it when I tried, so I gave up trying. But it is possible... Fun map still. Cheers.

Nah, not through the hole, just from the wall over the goo on the other side.

Hem... Is there any place where the cube can go over the central glass?? Oh... That hole -_-"

Ah, I see. I could probably get rid of that square of floor if I wanted to, but it doesn't really skip anything important anyway - just makes it harder on yourself! The intended method for getting a cube over there is to place a portal under the dropper and one high on the wall, then dump the cube in the goo to spawn a new one and fling it over .

I was on the blue gel side, I placed the orange portal at the top of the wall through the hole in the glass, and the blue portal on the white surface in front of the laser receptor ^^

Nah, that's not the idea. Not sure how you even managed that, to be honest.
Geneosis 9 Aug, 2012 @ 6:06am
Well I probably exploited the first part a bit X) But if it's the idea, this was really tricky ^^" But for the rest, I did it the right way and that was nice to play ;)

Ah ;D clever clever

The intended solution is to place a laser cube on top of the Companion Cube so you can aim the laser dead centre on the flip panel that opens up. Then place a portal here and one on the other side of the funnel so the laser goes right down the middle of it. Then send the other laser cube down sideways to create a sweeping death laser that takes them all out before crossing yourself.

[solution spoiler] getting through the turrets is hard, i first tried to connect the beam with the alser, but then it is not possible to kill the turrets with whe laser in the beam... i always died.
my way was taking both cubes in the beam with me and then go and kill thoose turrets. pls tell me what the real soulution is like.

quatrus, just out of curiosity, how did you get past the turrets? I'm always worried people are managing to ninja it through with a cube for defense....

Nice map, only difficult bit was hitting the laser catcher on the other side - rest was straightforward P2.

It was a little bit of work but it was very funny. Thanks for making.

Cheers! Yeah, I would have liked to have given the player a little leeway for the final trick, but I couldn't find a good way to do it without being exploitable....

Very good map. It used tricks and techniques I have never seen. I final laser trick was a little exacting, but once I got it the pay off was slick.

Very nicely done. A little tough here and there, but that's because the map doesn't hold your hand and lead you through the puzzle. Thoroughly enjoyable; thanks for mapping.

Cheers! I noticed you actually used a very similar trick in one of your own maps, so I imagine you might have got it pretty quickly....

Great Map! Finally found the correct (and far less complicated) way to get one laser cube to the other side. The final mechanic was very nice.
