This mod combined with better autoresolve made my campaign experience awesome. After installing it I had a lot of heroic siege defence battles and lost some cities too. It seems to me that the AI is more willing to attack instead of waiting for attrition..At least so far in my campaign. Cant thank you enough!

Does this mod make Gates stronger? I would like more uses of Rams instead of using large creatures all the time to destroy the gate in less than a minute.

Had to revert some changes after the Norsca patch since there was an issue with the time it took for building siege equipment and the lenght of sieges. Sorry for the inconvenience.

This is a base AI problem, the AI never wants to fight a battle it doesn't have an advantage in, so it will just abuse the stupid siege attrition mechanic.
Only mod I've found that fixes this AI habit also breaks the siege engine construction system so the AI can just build 20 siege towers in one turn.

i cannot have any Siege battle as defender, the ennemy keep waiting me to starve, i'm really disapointed about this, you think you can change this?

I want to play this mod, but I'd prefer to have towers with less range that fire more, rather than towers with infinite range that shoot at siege weapons meant to take the towers down!

really enjoyed this after I sped the firing speed back up again. Otherwise I didnt honestly see it as harder than a regular siege. Thx

You can do a slight tweak of the battlefield_buildings_table if you want to up the health of the gates. I'm trialing a 10x and 5x increase. I find it pretty BS how quick and easy it is to get through the gates, so see how it goes.

I would suggest more HP to gates too just to make it more challenging. Also reduce all towers max range so they are not hitting the back of the map all the time... give the attackers some room. Also I would add in 1 free catapult / artillery to the garrison on purchase of the great wall. Maybe make a 2nd weapon for towers that is 360 degrees but ultra short range arrows....

Have you found any way of increasing gate health? One thing I hate about sieges is how easy it is just to get a hero at one of the gates and just melee it down, often before the ram even arrives. Really want sieges to need a level of commitment. That and the removal of ladders or at least a significant delay in using ladders would be great (like a wind up time?). That's why we build siege towers lol

It is already almost impossible to lose a siege tower. I have not lost a single one during my chaos campaign. That said, it is also not possible to target them with most units. I could only target them with arrow tower for whatever reason.

Well, u know, it might be better to make player use a hell of st. If they can be easily destroyed, then u need to use a lots of them to reach the walls. like 1 per melee inf unit in 20 u army is enough to bring 4 of them to the walls.

It's a feature: I don't want them to destroy (AI) siege towers so easily. What's the point of siege engines if they end up beeing death traps? The player can avoid their destruction anyway. With vanilla I never loose a siege tower. But then, with vanilla towers I don't need them anyway.

Well, i haven't tried it yet, but i can already see a big problem with the mod. How will towers destroy siege towers and rams with lower dmg/rld? They used to be not that effective, but now they'll become completly useless in the first stage of a siege. Anyway, they won't be that effective at killing troops too, because again their dmg/rld are worse.
