Aww. As someone who doesn't typically buy DLC this mod makes it oh so tempting to do so. See I bought this game because my housemates were all playing one night. I don't really do well in these games, but this Mod makes me really want to.

The only growth-related effect associated with this Civ is the -20% City Growth Trait which is only applied once when the game is started (and cannot stack). So I don't think the growth penalty is caused by this mod.
♡ Crunchy ♡ 8 May, 2022 @ 2:05pm
Was playing modded Civ with friends and on turn 240ish my friend, who is playing this civ, started getting an increasingly large empire growth penalty, it got to around -245% by the time we decided to give up.

If we want to change the chance for pop increase how would we do that?
Zaela Zhezzaia 3 Sep, 2016 @ 11:03am
Great mod. I am loving it. Now the -20% growth rate is ether very weak or very strong. Depending on how lady luck rewards you. I have had games where the free pop was popping like candle. While I also have had games where it rarely popped. I was wondering if there a way to make the pop spawning a more normalized event. Like a counter and not a random event. Have to kill like 10 enemy units to get one free pop. Right now the random pop spawn is ether over powered or under powered.

If you get the luck that like every other barb you kill. You will find your self out scaling the AI fast. While if you are getting a pop for every 100 units you kill. You will fall behind from the -20 growth rate.

@spook333 One thing you can try is copying this workshop page's link (click the share button below the preview images) and pasting it into the Steam Workshop Downloader (http://steamworkshopdownloader.com/) . It'll allow you to download the mod directly. Then all you have to do is copy the mod folder and extract it (using 7zip or similar tool) inside your Civ V Mods folder and that should make the mod appear on your list of mods without needing to do anything else. The only downside to this method is that I'm not sure if it detects when an update for the mod is posted on the workshop, so you may have to check back periodically and repeat the process to update it.

Hope this helps.

This was pretty cool. TBH I feel like as a Civ they are a little on the weak side but I love the feel. Are you planning on adding the other factions? I love this one more than the other Warcraft faction mods
중리동거인 18 Jun, 2016 @ 4:44pm
OMG My dear Silvanas
spook333 18 Jun, 2016 @ 5:10am
@Nysa That does not seem to help.Have restarted the game a few times over the last couple of days with no downloading happening. Even deleted everything in the mods folder to reload everything to check if that helped.

Oh well, probably not your mod I guess, just Steam that is not programmed as well as it should have been.
spook333 18 Jun, 2016 @ 5:06am
@◕ ͜ ʖ ͡ ͡◕ ͡° ͜ʖ ͡° ͡°Ѡ ͡°)! I do have BNW, and it still do't download. It is not that it does not work, the mod doesn't download into my mods folder.
Aragorns 18 Jun, 2016 @ 2:35am
So, I love the idea of this mod. Essence of Blight is especially something which is unique, and I like that. I was originally writing, like, paragraphs as a comment because goodness me I can waffle. Then Steam said "1000 characters and no more" so...

Basically, like the mod, don't really want you to change anything but I also like throwing ideas around and thought maybe a Dark Ranger or Deathguard UU would've been nice, too. Maybe make Putress the leader of the Forsaken that focuses on Essence and Sylvanas can have UU's, I don't know. Just throwing ideas out there.

Keep up the good work though! Hoping for more Warcraft civs from you.

Click the 'Mods'-Button in the main menu, the rest should be pretty self-explanatory.
AllLivesSplatter 17 Jun, 2016 @ 3:48pm
So, what exactly is supposed to happen when I subscribe? I opened the game and wasn't able to choose her.
Ryika  [author] 16 Jun, 2016 @ 9:50pm
In general, when mods don't download closing the game before deleting the Civ5ModsDatabase in...

Documents\my games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5

...can help, it makes the game re-download all mods when the mod-menu is opened the next time.
Jonx 16 Jun, 2016 @ 8:48pm
i have bnw and the mod still isnt working
Master Wizard Wither 16 Jun, 2016 @ 5:49pm
Never played WoW, but it seems like fun... I love crippling other civs when they war with me. This will suit my playstyle well.
Poob 16 Jun, 2016 @ 12:12pm
@spook233 You need BNW (brave New World) For this mod to work
spook333 16 Jun, 2016 @ 8:59am
It does not seem to download when subscribed.
Ryika  [author] 15 Jun, 2016 @ 1:26am
@Drakefire: That should be fixed in v2, have you updated the mod?

If so, please provide more information. What exactly is happening, what Plagues aren't properly unlocked, etc
Drakefire 14 Jun, 2016 @ 6:25pm
I have encountered a glitch. When you save game and reload, you loss progress on your plagues.
Ryika  [author] 14 Jun, 2016 @ 2:45pm
@Player#1022: Are you using other mods besides this one? Can't think of anything within this mod that would cause this to happen.
Player#2201 14 Jun, 2016 @ 2:33pm
Odd bugs occur about where unthreatended cities have the red target circle. Next turn the city names are slightly displaced and then don't alllow you to change anything like production.
toe_scruncher26 14 Jun, 2016 @ 12:22pm
Love it! Are you going to make more Warcraft civs?
pizzA 14 Jun, 2016 @ 9:51am
For some reason it's not showing up in the civilization selection menu. Anyone else experiencing the same issue?
Varulven 14 Jun, 2016 @ 6:14am
I'm looking forward to it. The work and love you put into this creation really shows in game.
Ryika  [author] 14 Jun, 2016 @ 4:39am
Well, I do prefer Quality over Quantity and getting the Forsaken to a point where I was happy with the overall design took quite a while, so it's probably not likely that I'll get around creating "all of them", but I do want to create more - I'm currently in the planning phase for a Night Elf Civilization.
Varulven 13 Jun, 2016 @ 11:12pm
So are you planning on releasing all the warcraft civilizations? I am personally no fan of the Civilizations of Warcraft mod collection, and it would be interesting to see how someone else would handle that.
Серджио 13 Jun, 2016 @ 9:53am
Troops and workers will be changed?
ShadowZ 13 Jun, 2016 @ 4:24am
this mod is great! for this civilization of wow it became more interesting to play, unlike other. please do a full series on wow :)

ah sweet!
I hope you plan to do more "Special Ability" Civs, or any Civs, would want to see more stuff like this. <3
Ryika  [author] 12 Jun, 2016 @ 6:09pm
I just released Version 2. Among fixing the bugs that some people had reported (thanks!) I also fixed some other, minor problems, and added functionality to allow the AI to spread Plagues - this is however disabled by default:

- The mod now has functionality to allow the AI to create plagues, however, this is still disabled by default (because it can potentially be very annoying). See "Customization" below to find out how to activate it if you want to.
- Fixed Customization-Options that weren't working properly.
- Fixed the problem of Unlocks not being displayed correctly when a savegame was loaded.
- A few Plagues have had their costs adjusted.
- The maximum amount of Essence that can be stored is now 150 by default (was 100).
- Changed the Artstyle from Asian to European
- Now has a proper Map Image
- Civilopedia-Entry (Civilization) now works properly

@IDGCaptainRussia94: Right, Lua-Variables itself aren't saved, however, this mod already uses the SaveData-System to get around that limitation, I just forgot to add a check in one of the functions, which is why the UI resets everytime a save game is loaded.

This mod does not change any of the default UI-Elements and instead uses it's own standalone-UI so it should not cause issues with other mods (other than potentially overlapping if stuff is moved around),, but I haven't tested it specifically with the Community Patch.

@İmam-Blurb: Hehe. ^^ Yes, simply delete the Music-Folder in:
Documents\my games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\MODS\Warcraft - The Forsaken (v 1)\Art

That should have the effect of making the game play its default music.
Imam-Blurb 12 Jun, 2016 @ 3:24pm
Oooooooouch. My ears. The music is so creepy and it sucks. Is there a way to turn it off? Other than that, amazing job.
Rawr'kraine 🐉 12 Jun, 2016 @ 3:21pm
from what i understand, it seems Civ's with Lua coding don't save what the lua coding did.

Speaking of UI, does this mod with the community patch? The last time I tried playing Civ's that had custom UI's (Saints, Evil Spirits, I'm not even playing just that they in the game) broken the UI completetly and made the game unplayable.
Col. A. Covolsky 12 Jun, 2016 @ 2:16pm
lol, make the undead a DEPRESSED Civ, and by making them happy with food {which gives them the feeling of illusion}...
DK78 12 Jun, 2016 @ 1:58pm
...so.... Nevermind. Sorry bout all that. First MOD and I got a little carried away and forgot all about that box, in the game itself....says MOD on it... Up and running now. Embarassment is mine!
DK78 12 Jun, 2016 @ 1:48pm
maybe a silly question but I'm not the most proficient gamer in the world... I have clicked the "subscribe to download" box and still no download. I have restarted steam and CivV. Which step am I missing? Really looking forward to playing with the Forsaken again. :) It's been too long.
