The problem is that if Paradox changes that image it can break the game.
Normal flags have their own files and the worst case is that an update doesn't have anime flags.
With custom flags it can crash the game since it tries to reference a nonexistent icon index within the big image.
If I get the time I will split it off into it's own separate mod so that you can disable it easier when a new version breaks it.
Also there is a LOT of waifu material out there, sad that we only got 4 tags. I don't want to put Ai from Oshi no ko on rebel flags :( , then there is Danmachi that I just recently caught up on.
Eminence in Shadow, Hikari no ou, Chainsaw man, Bocchi the Rock, Tensei shitara Ken, Akiba Maid War... the list goes on. So many good waifus, so few tags.
Hope I didn't seem pushy, I get being busy coming off busy season at work while doing Grad School. Thanks for all of this, I do enjoy the mod!
4 new tags: AngevinEmpire, East India Company, Latin Empire, Latgalia
2 new loading screens
16 rebels flags
I fixed the 4 new tag flags, the rest will have to wait. Also found out that some flags (like Revolutionary France) are not images but generated with the custom flag designer so I cannot mod them.
1 - If you don’t want to create a new mod you can just modify my files but they can be overwritten by steam so make backups. (you can find my mod in steamapps/workshop/content/236850/688490819 on the drive you installed EU4 on.)
If not, create a new mod from the EU4 launcher:
Mods->Mod tools->Create a mod
That will create your mods directory in, Documents\Paradox Interactive\Europa Universalis IV\mod\nameofyourmod
Now you have choices:
2 - either copy my mod entirely, that will make your mod independent
or
3 - create only the files you wish to change.
This results in a smaller mod that depends on my mod. My mod should be loaded AFTER yours.
In all cases, flags are 128x128, 24 bit, TGA files that go into gfx\flags\ and are named by tag. These can be RLE compressed but overall the space savings are probably inconsequential.
Loadingscreens are 2048x1536 DDS files these can be (and should be) DXT1 compressed.
Now that I think about, the seasonal anime has strong waifus right now.
Anyways, thanks for your great work!
Also get ready for people not to read your comment and ask for an update ^^'
So I'm thinking that a long Easter weekend is coming and then I'll have time to cover most of them.
Maybe a partial update for the most important nations. I was ready for 10-15 flags not over a hundred!
1. unsubscribe from the mod
2. Wait for steam download to complete
3. Start the EU4 launcher, check mods, it should not appear in the list (this step is mandatory, looks like it's the launcher that cleans up unsubbed mods)
4. Exit the launcher
5. Subscribe to the mod
6. Wait for steam download to complete
7. Start the EU4 launcher, check mods, it should appear in the list. Enable if it was disabled.
8. Enjoy
You might need to unsub/resub to get it to work.
@Jolc3r I work on flag file level so I cover all flags irrespective if they exist, are formable or even if they are unobtainable normally (like the Synth flag)
Maybe if some epic tags emerge that warrant bringing out the big guns.
Originally I started with Sengoku Rance characters because eroge rips have nice transparent backgrounds and high-res pictures, but these days you can find anything with image search pretty easy.
1. Clear your mod folder
2. Create your mod using the launcher
3. Copy the modded files into the created folder
4. In the mod tools in the upload section find the OLD NAME (the one used on steam) of the mod, not the one you used when creating the mod
5. Before uploading SAVE YOUR DESCRIPTION TEXT
6. Note that upon pressing upload the mod will be insta-published and you will not be taken to the mod page
I'll see how bad the workshop delays are when the next patch hits, then make any necessary adjustments.
Looks like mods will need moderator approval before publishing. For each update.
This might mean LONG delays before a new version gets published. If it gets published at all.

Thanks for your work my man!
Here's the waifu for Provence, she is an orignal pixiv girl, Din't even see a name for her though.
Don't let stuff like that get you down Deimios. You're doing gods work here ^^
In regards to the message: point taken, however as I cannot dedicate enough time/energy to fix the problems I will keep on with the current way of doing things.
Also I have a policy of not changing old flags, especially the ones for notable nations, I won't go back on the Frankenchubby era flags to fix problems.
Happy to have other passionate anime mods and fans out there.

Supposedly the characters name is Meito Meiri. Though goolge search results pretty much just bring up these 2 pics on pinterest.
