great ideas, makes for a fun collection of puzzles

I liked this map. I almost gave up on the fizzler part, but I did eventually figure it out. The faith plate section was pretty confusing at first, but I liked the idea.

Worth considering putting stairs near the exit. will make it more visible.

Would you please play test one of my maps?

Wrathofmobius,

I would like to say how nice your map is. its a really fun map with a good sense of achievment.

Unlike the others, i did not have too much trouble finding the pit but i did get my cube stuck behind the laser wall I would sugest making the pit more like a cave shape, or put the hole in the wall instead.

I did bring the cube across with me which meant that i had to do the brilliant fizler puzzler again. Maybe a flip panel on the fizler exit triggered by the the other cube button would be enough to fix this issue.

Alll in all, a great map and great use of the conversion gel. fun 4.5/5 dificulty 3.5/5

Egon: Thanks for the tip, but I'll do it in Hammer because I've already started fixing the indicator strips. Might take a while though...

If You still do not know how to use Hammer to put arrows, try putting extra light next to turrets, to make exit more visible.
Light on ground surrounding tunel should be good enough for exit idicator.

Efari: IKR? Luckily it's about three clicks in Hammer. (one of the only easy things to do in hammer)
Efari 24 May, 2012 @ 1:21pm
ValvE should have added an option to add arrows in a map..
Efari 24 May, 2012 @ 1:11pm
oh there's a pit? :p
Cassie‽  [author] 24 May, 2012 @ 1:09pm
Efari: Hehe nice shortcut! That'll be fixed in the next version. The intended solution requires no backtracking: all you need to do is drop down a pit at the end of the turret room. I just need to make the pit more obvious.
Efari 24 May, 2012 @ 12:48pm
first time i ran through it, i wasn't able to put my final blue portal so high up, so i used the cube to stand on (that's why i wanted to take it with me)

i hope this is also the way to solve the fizzler room..?
Cassie‽  [author] 23 May, 2012 @ 11:48am
Efari: That would be great if you could record it.
Efari 23 May, 2012 @ 11:30am
i did't get how i could bring the cube from the faith plate area into the main area (since there is a fizzler in the way)
i used conversion gel to get to the exit (a small bit on the side of the exit platform, and with a tricky jump, i made it) (i can record it if you don't understand)
Lamppa 20 May, 2012 @ 1:55am
Yup, that's why I notified it ;) It's easily fixed by putting a fizzler into the other end of the fizzle room, and make it so that if a certain button is pushed, it'll close and you can portal to the other side. A friendly simple advice!

ThatFinnishAnon: Unfortuately conversion gel isn't supposed to be the almighty savior :S Thanks for the kind comment though.
Lamppa 19 May, 2012 @ 4:19am
It was a very fine made intricate map. You ALMOST had me thinking that maybe Conversion gel isn't the allmighty savior, but yet again. The conversion gel that was allowed into the fizzler chamber made it rather easy. Otherwise, Very good work.

blakyoshi7: So, I need to make the light bridge not immediately obvious, but obvious as soon as you look up. Consider it done for the next version when I get around to it, and thanks for the feedback.
ESH 16 May, 2012 @ 10:13am
Honestly, I don't know how I'd improve the fizzler room. It works OK as is, I suppose. However, I completely disagree with your assessment of the faith plate room. Because I failed to see the light bridge, I ended up doing some "crazy maneuvering" trying to solve the room without it. You also create the risk that the player will never see the bridge and simply give up out of frustration.
Cassie‽  [author] 15 May, 2012 @ 3:46pm
blakyoshi7: Thanks for the feedback. On 1, yes, I'm aware, and that's sort of intended. If there was a button that was only activated by the player (now that hammer's fixed, I can do this) I would use it, both fixing the problem of how to tell the player they're supposed to stand on the buttons and keeping them from putting the sphere on one of them. (I believe, however, it's impossible) I could also indicate in some way that you're supposed to put the cube on the button in the corner before grabbing the sphere. Which would be better in your opinion? On 2, it's intentional for the light bridge to be far up. It's not going to sound believable, but putting the bridge in a hard-to-see place makes it easier to solve the test, as players will most likely step on the first faith plate, thus realizing the problem that they must solve, instead of trying to do some crazy maneuvering to walk on the vertical light bridge. Good feedback though!

1. Are you aware that Edgeless Safety Cubes can be used on normal buttons? I found the fizzler room quite confusing until I gave up on using the ball on its intended receptacle and put it on a button. If this is intended, it's far too frustrating.

2. In the room with the Faith Plates and vertical Light Bridge, the Light Bridge is far too hard to see.
