I miss the archers from Medieval 2. After it all Archer units in new Total war titles got hammered hard and become useless.

so how to translate that into cause and effect- was a right bitch- so i went for simplest method. - its not perfect, but it sort of worked- - and yeah your not wrong- just i coudlent find a better way at the time

becouse ofc- cold climate bows, dont work in heat. they-snap/warp/glue melts/unsticks. they melt- then fall apart. -- and desert/ warm bows, fall apart in rain. (glue dilutes and unsticks)

- theres no- humidiety or heat/ rain on weapons-- ie i could make it so persian archers cant fire in rain or fog-- to (Pretend asif they would only be on a battlefeild with rain if they went west- giving massive debuf/ stat loss- ) --- while to compensate in heat their bows do more damage (Bs ofcource) -- but how to make the game act asif it has climate effects when it dousent =)

was mainly going for, the bow types, and arrows, not the actual region- idealy as you say- id have alot more changes- but getting that mix between- realism and peoples dlc -


- i went for the climate ideal- but the bitch is i cant make it so persian units basicly cant shoot bows in the west, and the west get fucked in the east lol

so going through all the different bow units and how this mod effects them, thinking the caledonians got shafted compared to german and persian archers, im not here to argue that they're nearly as good as persian archers but could we get a baseline bow type swap for the highland and highland elites and the two general units for caledonians? right now im using a mod "realistic celts" which does this, but it doesnt scale the fire rate at all (elite highlands are slow as hell) and it adds some other stat changes i don't find necessary.

the fact you could march a whole army of european warriors through the east pissed me off- - basicly. the catch for the easterners is, they come west, and their bows become usless in rain/ humid/ damp weather -- hunnic bows would fall apart in brittish/ french weather.

archers are nasty fucks. - people seem to forget just how insanly vicious they are. imean it all comes down to accuracy. - but the welsh longbow men were feared throughout europe. - as they should have been. - only the arabs (Turk and elite muslim archers) could match them,

ive just been waiting for the shadow of mordor xd, - but times gon on- really i wanted a medieval one, but they only made it for charl-- not atilla-- thats what pissed me off n i stoped playing xd. love it really- but what can you do besides remake the entier game how you want in parts--

they are unique units, (for cultural reasons) best of the best, hence no active reload, as itd be utter madness. - + they have no need- as their arrow count makes up for them not having infinite ammo. they carry 3-4X normal amount-

thing with english longbow men is, it dident blody matter what arrow they used, they tore up any unit. -- a longbow fiering any arrow would kill. if it hit its mark
-- some units have the efects slightly diferent becouse of bow type. as i heavility edited he bows to reflect the full onslaught they bring. to the time era.

its almost impossible to balence realism, with is (terrifying) arrows are not your freinds. ;) with gameplay --

i find they really fuck you up and make you go after the archers. and thats really, what you should be doing in a battle v the archer nations.

And in an attempt to not be entirely condescending myself, the aim of the original comment was not to be negatively critical - it was to point something out that could have been overlooked.

I mean, yes, there's something to be said for realism, and I don't disagree with your reasoning nor your intentions there and have plenty of background likewise. However, this is also a game, and from someone who spent multiple comments complaining about how overpowered javelins were I perhaps (apparently incorrectly) expected some consideration of game balancing, even if it maybe needed to be a little inventive (as this rather nice mod has been), rather than hiding behind the shield of realism while deathly critical arrows fly at you. (Oh ho, mod wit.)

So I hope you'll take these compliments along with the little bit of criticisms in kind.
