A soldier friendly or enemy affected if it receives a reaction shot in its turn, that is the shot doesn't have to hit, correct?

A very nice mod, I don't consider it OP because the Timer on most missions will force you to move instead of camping with overwatch, plus it also works when the ennemy does it, which happens often. Endorsed.

Is there a way to make this feature exclusive to the 'Covering Fire' Ability?

Otherwise this mod is massively imbalanced and really shouldn't be used, in my opinion. It's way too strong and incentivises you to sit in Overwatch all day - more then normal.

If you're looking to add this mod to your game, either open the .ini files and severely reduce the numbers, or do not use it until Condem makes a version that only affects 'Covering Fire' (if he is so inclined.)

@codem01 @Fortune's talking about adding "Covering Fire" to "Suppression", i.e. making its reaction shot be triggered by movement AND any other actions.

Really enjoying this mod! One thing I've noticed, is that when it procs during a reaction shot on Sectoids, the sectoid that recieves the suppression debuff "loses" their psi-zombies the same way they would if they got flashbanged. Not sure if this is intended, but it feels like it unbalances the Sectoids a bit.

I'm using Xylthixlm's Shadow Ops class overhaul mod, and this mod synergizes very well with it. I've noticed that it indirectly nerfs Lightning Reflexes (which works the same way as it did in EU/EW vanilla). You can still run an enemy's overwatch without getting hit, but your soldier suffers the suppression debuff, which is actually kind of a good nerf since Lightning Reflexes is a bit OP anyway. So I'd strongly recommend this mod for anyone playing Shadow Ops, as it makes lightning reflex a more tactically satisftying option, if that makes sense.

haha i forgot the most important word. a COVERING FIRE reaction shot, like supports have. too many times i see MEC's just blast me with grenades instead or, even more infuriatingly, have the suppressed target cancel the suppression by... shooting the suppressor. way i see it, the heavy is already actively shooting at the target with a hail of bullets/plasma, its not a huge logical leap to say they can just shoot the target the second they pop there head out to shoot, ala covering fire overwatch for supports.

@Fortune, I don't understand what you mean. Suppression already gives a reaction shot if the target moves while suppressed. This mod does work with the suppression reaction shot.

Hey, could you make a mod that makes the grenadiers suppression ability have reaction fire? would make that ability FAR less useless, especially when used against those bloody MEC's. Grenade lauchers are a free action my arse :(

@RealityMachina: Thanks. I like your Additional Mission Types mod. -50 aim is what suppression is. This effect only affects any shot taken during the same turn, so if a target moves and does overwatch, their overwatch shot will not be affected. But that's why I try to include ini settings as much as possible.

@JLthekin2: No I haven't exposed any other stats but I'll look at adding those. I haven't tested it with suppression but if it uses the same overwatch shot ability, then yes it would. Try it and let me know if it work or doesn't.

Great mod idea!

Are other stats like mobility and defence available to be modified in the ini?

This works together with suppression too right? After the unit runs away from a suppression?
RealityMachina 2 Apr, 2016 @ 1:03pm
Neat idea. Definitely taking advantage of the ini though, -50 aim is too high for my tastes.
