Trying to customize starting location is a nightmare in galciv, I recommend not trying, I spent a dozen hours trying to make it work with negligible success.

i love the map but I do want to set up my custom race to use the Regulus System of the Leo Constellation but I don't know how that work and its the last thing I have to do with my C Race

This sounds awesome, I'm going to load this up and use it. Thank you for the hard work you put into this.

Simple fix, go into the map in the map editor, put down your prefered planet as the player starting point, and take the player starting point option off Earth.

I would've loved for the option to not start on Earth as it kind of ruins immersion when not playing Terran Alliance or an equivalent of it.

The thing that most map designers misunderstand is that the Spiral Arms are where the really HOT, Bright and YOUNG stars are being formed NOW. But those Stars are way too young (and HOT) for habitable planets. The Habitable Stars are where the Spiral Arms where billions of years ago, so most of them (Habitable Star systems) will NOT be in the Spiral Arms (most of the time in their orbit), since those (spiral Arms) have too many Super Novas and other high energy events that kill off the habitable worlds nearby. So the Spiral Arms are the places to AVOID when placing Habitable Star systems. There are plenty of stars between the Spiral Arms, they are just not as bright since the bright stars that they DID have in those areas died billions of years ago. The Spiral Arm pattern does not travel at the same speed as the stars in the galaxy.

Cool map

Nevermind, I guess it actually is ludicrous. Also, I want to add some small things to the map around Earth for personal reasons. I just want to know, where is Earth on the map? Is there a way to search it in the editor? Thanks in advance.
spacechad 24 Nov, 2018 @ 9:00pm
Can you try to convert this map to ludicrous size?

For the glory of Holy Terra!
RedRapture  [author] 16 Aug, 2018 @ 7:00pm
Bad news on that, I only have Earth marked as a player start point, the rest is AI. So as long as you're human, you'll always start on Earth. Yay 'umanity!
Rastro 16 Aug, 2018 @ 6:46pm
You'd have to arrange the map in the editor in a very complicated, convoluted way. But yes.
Garwen 15 Aug, 2018 @ 2:57pm
is there a way to make it so that humans always start on earth? so when the player is another race he will start on a random planet and humans on earth, i like the idea of setting 20 races putting them on godlike, me starting on the outskirts as a custom race and just waisting away a hundred or so turns before sending a scout ship to see how earth is doing, if its there ally with humans if its destroyed exact sweett sweet vengians XD

ok
RedRapture  [author] 19 Mar, 2018 @ 2:55pm
It's only single player, and I didn't make a list of starting systems. I just went from the top on down the list.
Rastro 19 Mar, 2018 @ 11:20am
what order are the GalCiv universe races to be slotted so they start in the "right" home system?

And is this only single player?
Hate Bear 16 Sep, 2016 @ 4:01pm
Sweet map. I'm going to have to check it out.

This is an excellent map, exactly what I had been looking for. One suggestion I would make is to keep it updated to each release's standards, as GalCiv 3 should be updated and more DLC released in the coming months. If possible, maybe throw in a PayPal donation link for us, it's a hell of a lot of work you're doing and I think people here who can would want to reward you for it. Keep up the good work! I hope to see more from you in the future.
