Also your entire line-up looks absolutely amazing and share a similar style of design. I cannot even come close to that. People tell me to sketch first and I will end up with better results but 1) I am the most uncreative(is that a word?) person on the planet. 2) I am even worse at drawing than I am at building ships!

you can just set the merge block of the ship to "nobody" then it will work like it should

Could you provide de blueprint for the torpedo? Because it won't stay on the merge blocks when welded.
