Please make it a separate mod :)
Sektan  [author] 18 Aug, 2017 @ 10:21am
I will try as I will have free time

Can you update this mod with the new model door?
space_artist_4real 13 Mar, 2017 @ 10:56am
thank you soooooooooooo ,much I hate to see the door through the frame it kills meh thank you so much!
Hyperion 12 Jan, 2017 @ 12:20pm
This mod is making the doors look like before the beta update. Is a fix coming?
CaptPatrick01 1 Jul, 2016 @ 3:21pm
Most mod doors only use the button panel to open them anyway so when I use the vanilla doors and they highlight the entire frame, it tends to get jarring. This will make them consistent with all the other doors installed.
Antinov 6 Apr, 2016 @ 1:28am
@Mini_Meatwad I actually find it harder to navigate, and run into problems with accidnetal door openings, usually to space. Because the new huge highlight makes it far too easy to trigger the ring door, just by being remotely close to it.
Mini_Meatwad 3 Apr, 2016 @ 7:49pm
the point of the edit for the doorframe being accessible is because imagine trying to fiddle around while running around the ship with a tight fit without gravity and trying to bash your head into the keypad in order to get it to turn on, this techincally makes it so that you can nlook at the door frame but the player 'uses the keypad'

Thank you for taking the time to make this change, Sektan!
Antinov 20 Mar, 2016 @ 2:03pm
Shame this doesn't return the doors to having to target the actual control pannel too.

Change: replace original doors

Darian Stephens 13 Mar, 2016 @ 4:07pm
So, is there a version of this that replaces the vanilla models, rather than adding some new blocks?
DeAnti 12 Mar, 2016 @ 12:34pm
thanks friend
Sektan  [author] 12 Mar, 2016 @ 11:37am
IDK but I look on this :)
DeAnti 12 Mar, 2016 @ 9:59am
can you make a mod that removes the highlights?
superhappyalien 12 Mar, 2016 @ 12:20am
Nice Mod again Sektan and thanks for doing this its far more Realistic then the hole door lighting up like some tacky Xmas light you put around a door. Thx again.
Sasha Mason 11 Mar, 2016 @ 4:26pm
Kinda weird to see that people prefer those small buttons. I always thought why the developer couldnt just let me click on the door and open it (like the way it is in many games)
Rizzo 10 Mar, 2016 @ 9:09am
Hahaha, well apparently there are people who like it. But when you are making movies with it... not the best feature. Personally, the door with the auto open checkbox where it opens and closes on it's own without the need for any "remote highlighting" would have been the better direction. Alas, I will just keep quiet and subscribe.
President of Nauru 9 Mar, 2016 @ 12:23pm
Very liberal use of the word "realistic" here.
You should rename it to "smaller door highlight", realistic implies you know what space engineers in 2077 would think are good highlight amounts, which you don't.
Stardriver907 9 Mar, 2016 @ 9:22am
I agree with candum that the highlighting is a feature of the HUD that allows the engineer to remotely access panels and highlighting the entire threshold is probably the way it would work. Also, having said that, I can see where some engineers would prefer to only have the panel highlighted so this mod is perfectly in order, in my opinion.

Besides, it's a Sektan mod, so subscribe already :steamhappy:
That1/30 9 Mar, 2016 @ 8:14am
Seriously, please read this through. Then I will totally accept yer hate and/or thanks.
Think of it this way, your hud, which tells you everything from what the O2 levels are, to the gravitic displacement(s) and precise direction(s) to said displacement(s). It also allows you to use your suit's "on board systems" to access, view, and fully control remote enabled structures.
What if the suit's onboard systems also allowed one to remotely tap into the door control, and for the sake of making the engineer's life easier, it highlights the threshold for you.
Now for those that will retort with the fact that there is a control pannel on it. Think of that as a semi-manual override to the "localized remote access" system that is now built into the suit's abilities.
Otherwise good mod, I liked how you did this for those that prefere it this way.
Sektan  [author] 9 Mar, 2016 @ 5:44am
@[NSE]Rizzo: TRUE :)
Rizzo 9 Mar, 2016 @ 5:42am
Yeah, I don't understand why they changed it. I have NEVER had issues selecting and opening doors. Seriously, these huge highlights are immersion breaking. I don't know why we even have hightlights at all.
SRXcraft 9 Mar, 2016 @ 5:19am
I would prefer a replacement, but that still good and more realistic
Zephrax 9 Mar, 2016 @ 5:01am
@Sektan thanks :)
Sektan  [author] 9 Mar, 2016 @ 3:33am
Open no, close yes, for close you must look on button. Idk if will be possible change also for open.
Zephrax 9 Mar, 2016 @ 3:17am
So does this just highlight the button-panel when you look at the door? And it still works the same as it is now, so you don't need to look precisely at the panel to open the door?
Sektan  [author] 9 Mar, 2016 @ 12:08am
@Miniroxstar: Realistic in comparsion with original door in game - not in real life :) of course. But it is closer reality. The door opens a handle or button - not doorframe.
Ducky 8 Mar, 2016 @ 11:14pm
i dont really see why you call it "realistic" there is nothing really that realistic about doors being highlighted...
MrEvan312 8 Mar, 2016 @ 9:11pm
Seriously, this makes SO much more sense than what Keen did.
Дед Исай 8 Mar, 2016 @ 8:53pm
Thank you. It is better !
GreywolfMax 8 Mar, 2016 @ 7:19pm
Thank you Sektan.
Spacebar Hero 8 Mar, 2016 @ 6:59pm
I did not like the new highlight
Spacebar Hero 8 Mar, 2016 @ 6:58pm
Thanks man
I_Die 8 Mar, 2016 @ 5:40pm
This is how the game was first setup to function, I think it works fine like this and have included it into my games.
It would appear that in order to make this game more enjoyable to the masses they are making parts of it much easier to interact/navigate than when it was first released. Not necessarily a bad thing seeing how there are people that create mods that put everything back to how it was before an update.... Thanks, Sektan
Nioreux 8 Mar, 2016 @ 5:24pm
i dont like there highlighting function on the doors
at all
Mr. John 8 Mar, 2016 @ 2:58pm
Agreed, modding is about preference. Very nice mod, I will be adding this one.
Guinevere 8 Mar, 2016 @ 2:51pm
@E-Man720: Keen isn't required to return door highlights to their original state. They are by no means obligated to satisfy the wishes of every single Space Engineers player in the world. Sektan did not do Keen's work for them, he simply tweaked something in the game so that it suited him (and/or anyone who requested this mod) better. That's what mods are for. If Keen was supposed to do these things, there would be no mods.
E-Man720 8 Mar, 2016 @ 2:35pm
And once again modders are doing Keens work for them!
