hell, i just use the 'npc controller' in the addon npc tools 2 to make an npc walk to a certain point for testing navmeshes, now i don't disagree with paid addons, there is just other options

Unfortunately, no, not atm. Currently it seems to be bugged everytime you try to do anything with the SWEP. The NPC is perfectly fine and you can still use it to see the navmesh however (although to be fair, GMod provides a free NPC for navmesh testing and the ability to see navmesh is just a console command.)

Nah there are lots of free addons that add wandering npcs or tools to make npcs wander...
O may i add all tho its great this tool doesnt save soif your like me only want the NPCs to spawn and stay in specific areas well your fucked :)

Guys, this script is awesome. Must other scripts like huds and shit can go from 2 to 10 dollars. This must have taken AGES to make and he only charges 6 euros. 6! Thats fuckin' nothing if your a server owner or well a server owner thats not shit.

Hold up hold up I got a better one as their yard would already be owned. Imagine a freshly built house dude. Damn, that's a really nice house. Now you go cut its grass but someone moves in and asks you to keep doing it. When you tell them the price, they say tf? Why would I pay that when there are thousands of kids all over the town who would do it for cheaper if not free.

@bluefur the wolf. I understand your concern for profitable add-ons but your opinion, as gracious as it is, can stay right there. If you don't enjoy paid add-ons that you, that does not give anyone else any reason not to enjoy them. If you don't like them so much, don't buy them. I bought it! I had zero reason not to. It's a great addon and the dev put a lot of work into it. Put a lot of work into someone's yard and then watch them complain that paid grass mowing shouldn't be a thing. See how you react.

there is a plethera of NPC (none playable charactor) mods out there littering the workshop, many should just install those than BUY this mod to just uninstall it later because of the lack of variety,
making this mode ether a cashgrab, or a joke to jump on the vagon of modding... I know that the creators of this mod are trying to make money but really, just make a game, or even get a job... dame it's not that hard to go work at a fast food place or even make a youtube channel... god its not that hard!

mods are supposed to be free AND help make the game more fun. this is just a cashgrabs when some elite modders could just remake a mod similar to your paid verson,

Reason 1:
people can just use console commands... there is a command called nav_generate, it makes a nodes for NPCs to walk on (excluding striders and npcs that never move at all) it just does it for you, no needing to figure out LONG console commands just to make a simple walking path for NPCs, it just makes no sense... We want free mods to help with fixing NPC AI not just a cashgrab of a mod to make a little profit... Ain't nobody got time for that!

You're thinking of "nodes", which is a completely separate system. That system is built into the map so you will have to use Hammer to edit the map itself.

Yes and yes. Navmeshes are a Source engine thing. This tool just makes it easy to edit them.

If you're not willing to pay that's entirely up to you. I don't blame you either.
I wouldn't recommend paying for a mod if you're just going to use it for singleplayer anyway. The only people who should pay for a premium mod are server owners who need to draw in more players. :)

I just don't really get why you have to pay for this mod...
It might be because I'm a little new to these 'outside' mods but, it just doesn't make too much sense... I mean, I understand trying to make profit and all but selling a mod? I just don't get it. I guess I can look for another randomly walking npc script, they are all over the workshop, I'm not ready to pay money for something like this.

nav_analyze finds hiding spots, which are used by Civs when they cower in fear. That's why I bound it to the reload key.

Do you know the necessity of nav_analyze?

I'm asking because I can't help but notice that you run nav_analyze whenever someone attempts to save a nav mesh with your tool. Now, I've previously completely avoided using this command as I do not see the need for it considering most of the information it gathers is highly specific to CS:S bots, yet you include it in your SWEP:Reload() function whenever a player saves the nav mesh. I've generally avoided it because it can some times take longer to process for me than even generating a mesh in the first place (especially with large maps).

The navmesh editors available on the workshop are really great. I suggest you use them, however this also includes a dummy version of Civs; you can spawn test Civs and they will walk around and test your navmesh. :)
