just installing this mod (without any tweaking in the mod menu) reduces fps from 60 (toplocked in fpsbooser) to 40
and it is a software (game) issue because my pc setup is solid
just saying. I don't have anything against it
Bud_Spencer 6 Apr, 2023 @ 1:59pm
This is now included in Prop Control, which is recommended to use preferably.

This mod still works perfectly, and no it's not the same as ULOD. This mod scales props/trees render distance based on their RELATIVE size whereas ULOD changes the render distance for ALL objects which is not efficient. I just wish this mod supported decals, enabling larger decals to appear from further distance.
Smoko Frodo 18 Feb, 2023 @ 1:56pm
I think it's better if you guys use Ultimate Level of Detail instead of this. That mod can be turned on/off on demand, ingame and also has sliders for everything, props, decals, trees, etc, etc so you can decide how far you want the props to be still rendered and such.

Same here, I set all of the sliders to the left and it was still killing 10fps!
yao_zhou 21 Jan, 2023 @ 5:59am
This may be compatible, but seriously reduces my fps...
I wouldn't use...
Mitchel Vories 8 Jan, 2023 @ 5:45pm
I believe this mod caused me a lot of issues; trees would only appear when zoomed all the way in. Even when unsubscribed it would still show up in Load Order Tool. Had to go to the file location and manually deleting the folder.

It has also caused tree anarchy to no longer work with my game and I have had tro unsubscribe from it as well.

This is all anecdotal, but I wanted to put this out there in case anyone else is having similar issues.

This takes away about 13pfs just having it enabled and all set to 0/1. When I set values to defaults it drops another 4fps. Is there an alternative that fixes black deformations on grass props?
Patient 25 Dec, 2022 @ 3:00pm
6+ years old and still working. Did a check of my mod list for Financial update and realised that this is now the longest-since-update mod that I still use. Amazing.
DisasterLievelde 13 Nov, 2022 @ 11:00am
I'm wondering is this still working?
boggerdog07 19 Sep, 2022 @ 8:15pm
Anyone have any current opinions about this mod? Safe to use? Is there a better option?
Musharaf 19 Aug, 2022 @ 7:10am
I agree, works for me too but big dropdown of fps even with details lower than vanilla.
The Tales of Willi 8 Aug, 2022 @ 8:20am
Still works for me but has a big negative performance impact, dont use it.
X2 5 Jul, 2022 @ 8:19am
does this work now?
Sint Holo 30 Jun, 2022 @ 11:26pm
Can confirm, nothing works with this anymore. It's dead.
Runaurufu 21 May, 2022 @ 7:31am
Well something happened with this mod... it now not just crashes game without any log... it straight forward fucks entire system to the point where other programs get randomly crashed...
xxxx 30 Apr, 2022 @ 2:23pm
What's the differences with: "ultimate level of details"?
LeRoiDeMusique01 1 Apr, 2022 @ 9:43pm
Is this mod compatible with the airports update?
=SAVERS=#1 12 Mar, 2022 @ 11:55pm
this mod dead!
Nucity 11 Mar, 2022 @ 10:49am
This mod dont work
Frizzly 21 Feb, 2022 @ 9:53am
Guys I dont think this works anymore. Trying to get my farm decals visible from a birds eye view, but even with max sliders on props, it aint working.
Alanbai 20 Feb, 2022 @ 10:44pm
does it work now?
RLJSlick 7 Jan, 2022 @ 7:40am
Nice mod but it really kills my fps.....
MatthewNGBA 22 Nov, 2021 @ 2:47am
can anyone explain what each slider does to a person who doesnt know any of it except what "props" "trees" and "LOD" mean. i was playing around with the sliders and the factor multiplier and distance offset seem to do the same thng basically, i see so changes with the neon signs when i use distance multiplier and i have no clue of any changes with fallback render distance. i can ramp up every setting all the way with only a slight fps reduction but maybe this is more for people with massive screens whereas im using a laptop... or maybe its for higher detail props that i still havnt subscribed yet?
ICED T 9 Nov, 2021 @ 4:28am
Can anyone explain any further what the sliders do? I don't understand what the formula in the description is supposed to mean. A word explaination would really help!
martin 21 Aug, 2021 @ 10:46am
this mod literally breaks my game for some reason
ManuRamos 10 Jul, 2021 @ 9:09am
Why my PROPS disappear in LOD mode. I unsubscribed from all the claimed MODSs with zoom, LOD, distances, etc, and they keep disappearing
TPopBCornD 1 Apr, 2021 @ 11:22pm
@N3XUS12 no but it will cause your fps to be dead
N3XUS12 25 Mar, 2021 @ 9:25am
Would this remove the 'dead' look trees in polluted areas have when zoomed out?
Simuscape 3 Mar, 2021 @ 3:37am
Well, I unsubbed from this mod and subbed to https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1680642819&searchtext=ultimate+level+of+detail instead - only to find that I couldn't get the same result with some assets. Some grass that looked like frozen spinage taken right out of the freezer and thrown around my city... :O

So yes, this mod do heavily impact on FPS-performance, but I think it's worth it... :)
pdelmo 16 Jan, 2021 @ 2:30pm
you can improve your fps with this mod with the right settings.
LemonsterOG 5 Dec, 2020 @ 8:23am
@Frog -- ULOD does have this feature included, but I've found, for my needs, I need this as a separate mod from ULOD because ULOD has all or nothing settings. Sometimes I just need this specific prop distance. It all comes down to a player's specific needs. Mine are just different from yours.
Tuga_Venatus 24 Oct, 2020 @ 10:32am
@blank, not really in "the middle of the city", but in a dense populational area in the outskirts of london.
saying its on the middle of the city, Nerdist might think its bang on in the city centre lol, maybe even next to Buckingham palace ;P
Still inside of London metropolis limits, but on one of its ends, SouthEast to be precise (Greenwich and Woolwich council areas).
@ nerdist, just google it, london city airport, its actually on a man made island in the nearby river and as blank said, it points right into the skyscrappers of Canary Wharf, london financial district.
And it wasnt built in the middle of the city, the city just grown around it. its the only airport (out of 5 london aiports) that is actually within the city council limits, all other 4 are away from the city (about 2-3 hours drive average from city centre by car)
cube 21 Sep, 2020 @ 3:53pm
@Cynical Nerdist London City Airport. Not only is in the middle of the city, its runway points right at a bunch of skyscrapers.

What kind of maniac builds an airport in the middle of a city
Sir Francis of Longview Castle 6 Aug, 2020 @ 5:11am
I removed this mod and got FPS boost like hell. I always had problems with cities over 10k and a FPS rate of lower than 20. Now I can run my cities with over 100k without any lag and a FPS rate of more than 50. This mod kills your FPS so you should only use it if you make screenshots.
kg100112 23 Jun, 2020 @ 11:42am
This mod kills my FPS.
saintkhawnan 18 May, 2020 @ 11:30pm
@BedTundy... The mod is more than likely ATTACHED to an asset that is causing the error... Similarly, I had to perform my own tests on the ETST mod and thought that was the CULPRIT, but was actually caused by a train asset that was using that mod...
LemonsterOG 18 May, 2020 @ 8:21am
@BedTundy -- Your issue isn't with this mod. This works perfectly. I would suggest posting any mod compatibility issues/troubleshooting here :TYarrow: Click Here
LiquidBowelMovement 18 May, 2020 @ 8:13am
This seems to screw something up at load. I have just gone through a recent mod troubleshoot, disabling all mods and assets and turning them on one at a time to find the culprit and it seems to be this mod. With this mod enabled I get an error through loading screen mod it says:

Simulation: (failed)
Argument is out of range.
Parameter name: index

then game loads but screen is screwy. Screen is frozen with weird jagged line through it. Task manager says game is running fine, and the game does make the bell noise like it has loaded but the screen is frozen like this. Disable this mod and game loads and runs fine.
saintkhawnan 10 May, 2020 @ 5:07pm
In my opinion, this mod is USELESS; since the Procedural Object (PO) MOD can CONVERT any PROP with any DISTANCE associated with them directly...

Don't use this mod if you are concerned about FPS rate...
hehehemann 7 Apr, 2020 @ 11:38am
This mod is very heavy on your FPS, I use it for taking screenshots but dont enable it when I'm city building
BlackRush 7 Apr, 2020 @ 8:35am
This mod makes my FPS drop by 10.
SK 1 Apr, 2020 @ 2:40pm
Sunset Harbor compatible?

I love these BonBonB videos, super helpful for noobs and experienced players too
Patient 9 Mar, 2020 @ 12:03pm
Wow awesome thanks guys for the help!
LemonsterOG 9 Mar, 2020 @ 9:52am
@Mewn Goddess -- I'm glad it worked for you. It might be that you can only have one or the other (Prop Snapping or Tree Snapping) for it work. I chose to keep Prop Snapping because I put props on buildings (like antenna, satellites, etc.) I don't ever snap a tree to a building, so I figured I could do without Tree Snapping. I guess it's a personal preference.
