You base this weapon on complete salvage missions and have sellable in the black market. You'll be happy to know that it is LW2 compatible.

The ADVENT Rifle is pretty cool, but I have encoutnered something of a bug:

I gave one of my guys an autoloader for their ADVENT rifle.

Then after I bought the XCOM version, the ADVENT rifle was no where to be found. Instead, the autoloader was attactvhed to an XCOM Mag rifle instead. Thats not supposed to happen right?

The mod name for this rifle is DMR. It took me awhile but I saw it and was like I really never seen this file so opened local files and there was advent rifle.

Love that this things gets abilities that I can turn off and on. Wish I could get that to work on other guns.

Is there anyway to lock the rifle behind a research wall by making the advent rifles collectable items that can only be picked up through the loot system (for balance) which can be sold on the black market, and a certain amount must be collected to start a required research project. The project will allow Xcom to reconfigure the rifles for our soldier's use. And then you can make the rifles have slightly different stats for variation.

The rifle is very well worked, but too cheat if you can use from the beggin, it should be possible to investigate or get it drop by the enemies

I love weapons like this, not exactly conventional fire-arms, but with simple punchy designs, with just enough sci-fi mixed in.

Any chance of a cheat version? One that's just slightly better than top-teir plasma rifles, so you could use it the entire game.

Also, could you do an asset swap? Maybe point the Mag rifle data to the Advent rifle asset? Basically replace the mag rifle visual with the Advent rifle visual so those of us with weapon upgrades attached can keep them. :)

Hey man like Jones_Miguel said is it possible for you to add in the tech tree a Advent rifle upgrade to make it a Tier 3 weapon damage wise with 2 mod slots? If you could lol Advent weapon series would be great like Advent shot gun Advent sniper rifle Advent Cannon( probably could take the MEC's one).

You can choose to not install it if you dont like the change it makes.

I don't normally comment on mods (maybe I should more, but another time), just wanted to point out, seems like a good idea for the mods but according to the lore they've set in the game it shouldn't exist. Their weapons have DNA-scanning of the primary user and detonate when they expire, Judge Dredd style.

Not slamming the mod, the creator, anything really. Just wanted to point that out.

How do I change the ini. files for this mod so I can add more attachments to it? I love the mod but I thin more than one attachment would be wonderful. Also, can't wait to see more mods from you! Keep up the great work! :sectoid:

Just FYI. This mod will over write the Strong Rifle mod which is a better gun stats wise. Had to remove it because it changed the Strong Rifle in my armory to another Advent Rifle. So I had lost the Strong Rifle but had Advent Rifle listed twice.

@Ninjathedino3 do you have a time when updates are allowed to download? I have mine set for 11PM to 4AM so the mods don't actual download unless i manually go to the download manager and tell it to update.

oh hey, the guns already have a number count under the weapons tab of the build list.
if you just changed it so that the gun only dropped about 15% of the time and you turn off the code that makes it infinate in the loadout list, then you WOULD be able to have the gun be a drop! (though i would also want there to be the option to still build the guns for a high price just incase it wont drop for RNG reasons Xp)

@Arche[R] making the rifle a loot should be possible. For the moment I'm working on a tech tree for the Advent weapons. First step of the tree should be the Advent rifle, later the Viper plasma rifle and finally a spoilerish weapon.

I was atempting to make this too the other day but I couldn't get the rifle to show up for I couldn't seem to figure out the correct mesh. And idea I had for that, and a sugestion for you is maybe make it so its a loot drop, so when you kill an Advent troop they have a chance to drop their rifle like mods. I do not know it that is possible though.

Just answering some comments

About the Advent armor, it's something i'm working on. It's harder than the Advent rifle but with time I think I can pull it off.

About some other weapon mods not working, I think that for the moment everyone used the same method to add/change weapons to the game and because of that probably the IDS of the weapons are overwriting. It's only a matter of time finding the way to assign a unique ID to the Advent rifle, then it will be compatible with other weapon mods.

I'm close to making it a research reward. It will be a magnetic class research, expensive but provides a powerful weapon.

@TezlaAlchemia not happening to me, if I deactivate the mod in the launcher the rifle doesn't show up. It's odd...

And I can confirm that adding weapon modifications like a scope it's possible. Stat wise you get the benefits, but the model won't change.

Could you possibly make a more powerfull version of it as well, for harder dificulties or to be used in end game, cause in my opinion this gear looks cooler than the end game stuff, again in my opinion.

i want that advent scarf (in blue) but hey, i cant seem to get the weapon to turn off just by disabling the mod, i have to unsub just to get it out of my game and thats kind of annoying...
it also overrides some other guns annoyingly.

Like where did you access it in the files, and how did you allow it as an item for player unit loadouts?

I like the idea of this not being something you research, or even build, and the only way to obtain them is from corpse drops or end of mission rewards, so you end up with a limited amount, but they smooth the transition from early into mid game.

Just my two cents. Also will be adding to my "Suggested Mods" collection. Great work!
