woah, what a spiffy map!
Prototypical 11 Jan @ 4:42pm
I feel a little stupid after seeing what the [i[intended[/i] solution was.
Then again, very precise and cool jump onto the glass to get the portal back there instead.
Dark Rozen 30 Mar, 2022 @ 12:39pm
Great portal management!
Narkodes 29 Jun, 2020 @ 3:36pm
Great!

Well, I must have had more patience, or more brain cells, three years ago when first played it and added it to favourites. I gave up this time and watched the video. Yep, it’s still a brilliant puzzle.
lfairban 29 Jul, 2019 @ 6:04pm
Solution devilishly hidden in plain sight.
Nobody No-One 28 Aug, 2018 @ 4:19pm
Very neat map. Thumbs up.
Joric 28 Aug, 2018 @ 4:16pm
It's ok but I managed to exploit it a few times: https://youtu.be/Rcla_49K_Js
Mikeastro 28 Aug, 2018 @ 3:11pm
Now this is a little gem :) Faved!
zeo1337 20 Apr, 2018 @ 2:57pm
That was fun and surprisingly clever
bullfrog 11 Mar, 2018 @ 12:07am
Looking at my 'favourites', I added this brilliant puzzle on 23 Jan, 2017 @ 10:48am, but for some reason didn't comment then, or more likely bb dropped out or I forgot to press 'Post Comment'. Any road up, comment now posted :)

Overthought this chamber, I never actually needded to go to the second area (with the gell). I ended up getting the cube, reversing the funnel, and using timing to land the cube in the laser. very good map
Libbybapa 28 Nov, 2017 @ 12:32pm
Fantastic puzzle. It took me a very long time to solve in the intended manner. The portal management was hard for me to see, I think because of the way that it switches the input/output portals. Very well done!
Libbybapa 28 Nov, 2017 @ 11:57am
Here's one way that is inconsistent but doable: https://youtu.be/ua17q0LMoOM
Fumbly Bumbly 23 Mar, 2017 @ 6:41am
Amazing chamber, RectorRocks! My only nitpick is that the chamber's layout doesn't feel quite as sectioned as your other maps, if that makes sense. Beautiful solution, though. Thumbs up and added to my favourites. :)
HugoBDesigner 20 Nov, 2016 @ 6:44pm
Nicely done, I love these "portal swap" puzzles. Thanks for making!
nock 11 Nov, 2016 @ 8:40am
Shame I wasn't able to pull the re-donk-u-los "speedy-cube" trick off but a great chamber none the less.

/gah, first time I succesfully solved one of your puzzles without any hints (took me long, though). Good Job!
BlumCoLe' 14 Apr, 2016 @ 2:35pm
Hi RR,

this is my way: https://youtu.be/R1xd-DnSHYw

I don't wanna watch the walkthrough video before I solve your map in the intended way. (I hate spoilers and like the challenge)

Furthermore two screens (your trap prevention trapped me :D):

Your "NOTE" threw me a bit off. But an exellent map indeed!
KAKTUS ‡SvK‡ 8 Feb, 2016 @ 12:48am
excellent
jandlml 31 Jan, 2016 @ 10:23pm
i think i got the intended solution. i used the blue gel room. good one rectorrocks.
jandlml 31 Jan, 2016 @ 9:40pm
i dont know it must have been a fluke, i tried to duplicate what i did and i cant. all i did was suck the cube in with the orange funnel push it out through the blue towards the drop cage and i was able to drop it down by going on and off the button.but i cant seem to do it again im going to go back and see if i can get the intended
kimist108 29 Jan, 2016 @ 8:30pm
How in the world did jandlml not use the blue area? I could only find one way to complete this map and that was the intended way.
jandlml 28 Jan, 2016 @ 6:34pm
hmm, im wondering if i did this the intended way. i didnt use the little area with the blue gel. the way i did it seems way to simple.
quatrus 28 Jan, 2016 @ 12:41pm
Nice map - hard puzzle to figure out - would have been a bit easier if there were dots etc or some guidance to the sequence - most of my time was spent figuring out which button sequence to use and the far surface for the funnel....still a well thought thru map as usual....thanks for creating.

@dire.fcs Thanks for playing, dire! Thanks for your input and for the favorite! :steamhappy:

@| \_/ () Thanks so much for your kind words, | \_/ ()! Yes, the exit was opposite the glass at ground level. I think it's better near the entrance too, I've updated the description :)

I couldn't think of any other way to prevent putting the cube on the floor so I decided with blue gel haha thanks! :D:

About getting trapped in the cage, I don't think I can prevent that. I can't possibly grate it cause it's an angled panel and putting a laser field would not be necessary since the laser at the bottom can kill the player if he does go in the cage.

Thanks again for the comments and for the favorite! :steamhappy:

Let me first say that this is a verry well thought-out test that is both challenging and fun to solve. When I managed to think of the soluthion I started saying "yesyesyesyesyesyesyes" to myself over and over. :D If you didn't get what I mean by that, I love this map!

Now, the one thing I wanted to do the entire time and decided to solve the test first was to get myself trapped where the laser is, so I did that. You'd maybe want to fix that. I can see that the version I played is v1.3, maybe v1.4 will be perfect *shrug* :/

"Ignore the blue gel and the abundance of fizzlers above near the exit area . They serve no purpose other than to prevent unintended solutions." - So the exit was up there? I think it's better now that it's next to the entrance. Update that part of the description. :) Oh, and btw, using blue gel to prevent unintended solutions makes the test feel fresh, I like that.

GOOD WORK!
dire.fcs 21 Jan, 2016 @ 2:13pm
I replayed the map again (it's the 2nd time I post this), now I did as intended, nice fixes and nice work.
Rector  [author] 21 Jan, 2016 @ 3:34am
@Zoraya Thank you so much, Zoraya! I really appreciate having you around to play my maps  Thanks for the favorite too. :steamhappy:

@dven1 Hahaha I was hoping you would solve it without the video, since this one is much easier than Take That. But thanks! I always suck. :steammocking:
dven1 21 Jan, 2016 @ 3:26am
I finally finished one of RR's maps! (after watching the video) I'm so proud of myself. (NOT)

Great map, as usual. You still suck.
Zoraya 20 Jan, 2016 @ 4:13pm
I played it again and then I watched your video. This time I solved it as intended. Very clever and thoughtful puzzle, I added it to my favorites.
Thanks for another good challenge RectorRocks, I always look forward to your maps!
Rector  [author] 20 Jan, 2016 @ 7:09am
Thanks so much, Zoraya! I've fixed it, have fun and good luck!
Zoraya 20 Jan, 2016 @ 4:25am
Yes that´s what I did. A grating would prevent that.
I will play it again later to find your intended solution.
Rector  [author] 19 Jan, 2016 @ 6:22pm
Thanks Zoraya! Did you jump into the blue funnel from the high white wall beside the funnel? If so, do you think grating the surface will prevent your solution?
Zoraya 19 Jan, 2016 @ 3:38pm
Hi RectorRocks, I didn´t use most of the puzzle elements, I only needed the funnel and cube to exit. Here is my solution: I jumped into the blue funnel with the cube, grabbed it behind the grating, moved backwards to the fizzler button, the cube fell into the ground and blocked the laser I
If you want I can make a video of my solution.
Rector  [author] 18 Jan, 2016 @ 4:54am
Thanks for the video, Old Git! That was 100% intended. :steamhappy:
Thanks for playing!
Old Git 18 Jan, 2016 @ 3:37am
Great challenge! (took a while to solve) - my solution:

https://youtu.be/fpzvznbYZrA
Rector  [author] 17 Jan, 2016 @ 8:41am
@jgaultney Thanks jgaultney! If you done it all correctly, the original solution is actually the same until you reverse the funnel for the cube to get in the funnel. With one portal on the other side of the wall, portal the funnel portal on the wall at ground level (to make the cube stop in the funnel), go through the portal, press the {wall-mounted button to disable the fizzler}, portal the {angled panel}, go through the portal and switch the portal on the angled panel to the funnel while riding it with the cube. Portal the white floor at the exit. Curly brackets are mechanics that are removed. I actually prefer this one over the other one. :P
Thanks for retrying and for the favorite! :steamhappy:

@dcook Haha thanks! At least you're solving it correctly this time  Good luck!
jgaultney 17 Jan, 2016 @ 7:37am
I don't know what the original solution was but I rather like this one. :steamhappy:
Thumbs up and favorited. :p2cube:
dcook 17 Jan, 2016 @ 6:03am
I officially hate you now... lol I'll have to come back to this this evening... pretty sure I have the solution, just need to work the mechanics out in my head... I could really use another cube.. lol thanks for the mental exercise. :-)
Rector  [author] 16 Jan, 2016 @ 8:59pm
Thanks guys! Map is updated with a different solution for opening the exit.

@dcook Thanks, but I have no idea how you did that. When you said you "walked around after getting cube", did you meant you walked around the glass through the anti-trap hallway? I also have no idea how you are able to stand by the glass and shoot a portal there. I updated the map so the ending is a little different now. Would you mind giving it another try? Thanks

@dire.fcs If I'm not mistaken, I think you reached the other side, brought the cube with you and hugged the cube on the button with your body? Then shot a portal on the angled panel and entered the funnel with the cube? I updated the map so the ending is a little different now. (I removed the wall button and ceiling button) Would you mind giving it another try? And maybe help me spot any unintended solutions? Thanks
dire.fcs 16 Jan, 2016 @ 11:29am
Too easy I guess; I don't need the panel near the button that disables the fizzler (also only one panel in the gel area is needed and could be grated too if you adjust the panels on the floor below the rail... - just a suggestion)
dcook 16 Jan, 2016 @ 10:23am
Nice job... again! :-) If riding the platform was intended, I did not do that... I did move it, just didn't ride it. Walked around after getting cube.. stood by glass and jumped up to set portal ..rode funnel to platform and other side..
Aleskei 16 Jan, 2016 @ 8:08am
good test.
