This is a very good replication of the Horten 229, good job man.

You hit the nail on the head, even though it was created by the Nazis it still helped shape the path for future stealth fighters, intriguing and horrifying story to it

the ho229 was invented by one of the Horton brothers, one of them died in a fighter in the battle of Britain. only one was made in 1943 and two months of testing one of the engines died and it crashed. The nazis were making another one but the allies were to close so they fled and the allies found only the body (the only thing made of the sedcond jet) and now it is in america. but its still nice.

Have you thaught about making a Horten 18?
As it is a largeer bomber, you may be able to make it fully functional.
As I respect you as a builder, i will understand if you don't.

@Crafty_Jos haha its almost vanilla but yeah needs the aerodynamics, I tried that on my friends server but he didnt have the mod, so i just fell off of the runway :steamfacepalm:

Oh well, you cant get everything I supose...
Venom415  [author] 15 Jan, 2016 @ 3:44pm
@Carman1000 Sadly cockpits are very touch especially with rotors, I tried many ways of making an extending landing gear but sadly all of my ideas blew up and destroyed the cockpit withing seconds of flight :steamsad:. but suprisingly the piston head is very strong and slides really well on most surfaces so I went with it
Carman1000 15 Jan, 2016 @ 1:23pm
Thanks, this is my favorite plane.
BTW, were you not able to get the front landing gear correct?

lol thats cool

@MrOblivion Panzer is right, it was the first jet powered Stealth bomber made of wood. The wood did help absorb some of the signals from radar and they used charcoal in the paint (carbon in charcoal also helped reflect and absorb radar signals). By the way I do have the aerodynamic wings inside the Hortens wings, but the angle of the wings mod was too steep or shallow to fit with the 2x1x1 angle blocks above and below it, so they remain hidden.
PanzerCommander22 13 Jan, 2016 @ 5:07am
MrOblivion it did not have any props it was a jet aircraft(But still wing mod wuold be great). It was the first ever aircraft to have stealth capabilities. And by that I mean it could actually fool the radar buy not seeming to be as big as it really was
Joshua Norton 11 Jan, 2016 @ 11:06am
Indeed Venom, but that doesn't count as introduced.
Introduced basically means the aircraft entered regular service in the air force which the Ho 229(thankfully) never did.
Hawkeyes25900 11 Jan, 2016 @ 10:05am
should use the Atmospheric blades for the props and have wings areodynamic
Venom415  [author] 11 Jan, 2016 @ 8:34am
well It was introduced as an Idea to the German Luftwaffen Reichsmarschall Hermann Goring, it met Gorings requierments for his "three by one thousand" idea, a fighter that could fly a thousand kilometers an hour, over a thousand kilometer distance, and deliver a thousand kilogram bomb. Goring was so amazed by the idea that he approved the concept instantly.
Joshua Norton 11 Jan, 2016 @ 7:28am
Hm, well actually it was never introduced at all, there where 3 prototypes built with a wooden frame(instead of the aluminum in the design draft).

AMAZING
