The acrobatic moves you have to do in the cellar are a bit hard (jumping part)... it tooks me more than 20 minutes. Such moves should be easier. - Like.
All I can say is, it must have been the guy hanging from the rope.
Question. Did you notice in the cabin going up the stairs on the banister a mug and if so did you read what it says?
Thanks for playing the map again, jgaulteny.
I see you added a (small) new twist to getting the cube. :)
In the basement puzzle, reaching the bridge the intended way didn't seem to work for me
in the original map but works just fine in the update. It was most likely just me. :)
'Losing the gel' bug on an F7 while getting the sphere is annoying but I understand that's
not something you can do anything about.
A very good and enjoyable map. I don't know why I didn't favorite it before, that oversight
has been corrected!
Also great map, very unique
I have a walkthrough .dem if you like to watch it. Go to page 3. You'll have to download it from my dropbox.
Thanks, ksnyder for playing and leaving a comment.
Donkey Kong and the oil drum. Great reference! I almost forgotten that game, thats how long it's been for me.
About the observation room. I like the one-way glass panel look there, but I also considered a brush (func_detail) with glass texture as well.
That random section of floor with the sinking tiles rather reminded me of the Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets PC game, in several reminiscent design aspects. That's a compliment, as I loved playing that game, evident with my workshop map Mapname 2 which is based a bit after that.
Also, when I woke up today, I didn't think I'd have to be avoiding an oil drum barreling towards me and breaking my ankles, in Portal 2. Going partial Donkey Kong here. I will say though, when you use the observation room windows in a situation where you can stand on both side of the window, you should really double up the prop so you can see the glass from both sides. Or at least put down a brush with glass textures on both sides.
Thanks, Dave.
atommalac. A map wreck with many casualties... lol. I hope you don't give up on the map, I do have checkpoints thoughout the map.
Thanks, Zoraya for playing and not giving up on the map, i'm glad to hear you finished it. It's funny, I didn't look at that part of the puzzle to involve some sort of acrobatic moves. Maybe it's because I played that part over and over again that the maneuver became natural to me!
I made a .dem for you or anyone to watch how I intended the map to be solved click here [www.dropbox.com]
I may evenually change the .dem over to a youtube video.
