question, did the mod suddenly change so that some of the thrusters only have large grid options while the sloped thrusters have both grid sizes? because now the non-sloped thrusters only work on large grids, but I remember them working on small too.

So apparently when horizontal in gravity up thrusters do not work, but they work every other way. i do not know what is going on lol

FYI. Thrust values as tested at 20,000m ~0.3G

Small ship thruster = 100kN | 100,000N
Large ship thruster = 1MN | 1,000,000 N

Thanks. All credit will be given to Rider & you, along with a link back to this modpage. Also, may I ask for cross-link? I.e. you will write somewhere in the description that there's a slighty fixed version with proper dampers, thrust types, ship sound system compatibility, and, maybe, a slight rebalance (if you approve, normal thruster component shall be replaced with custom component (Advanced Ion Engine Grid), alike vanilla, but more costlier, and a few computers shall be added too). So, at first, people will know that there's a fixed version, and at second, that will be a defense against lol-flaggers — if they see that the original mod links to my reupload, then it's obviously done with permission.

Then, perhaps, we can go around it? I.e. you add me to authors, I make up a modinfo.sbmi file with your steamid and this mod's workshop id, upload it, test if everything is fine, then you remove me from authors. That might work.

Eh, it's more like someone else, as in, a player, thought he was defending Sektan's honor by flagging it. Steam's guzys on it take little effort to verify these things. It is a system that is easy to abuse.

And yeah. It would be 2 clicks, if I had the game installed, updated and my mod repository copied to my hard drive. I don't, though. :)

I understand. But still, I thought that giving you a complete mod, so you can reupload it with new dampeners in 2 clicks, will help to update this mod with damps. Or, I could ask your & Rider's permission to reupload, but I'm driven off this because of what happened to original mod, just because it was looking alike Sektan's mod some idiots at Steam management decided it a copy-paste/ripoff, and deleted it.

Much appreciated, Cheetah. I recently reinstalled my OS, and have never Spengies installed, nor my mod repository around. I know how to change the damps. I am just serious about my hiatus. Like, I really do not want to play or mod space engineers.

{LINK REMOVED} are the patched thrusters with 1.00 dampening factor. I also updated them with some new Keens stuff.
All you have is to merge archive contents with your mod and reupload.

One day, when Keen no longer blows up their game on a biweekly basis, I might come back from not playing or modding for this game, and then I might address the dampeners. Until then, I would like to point out my hiatus disclaimer.

Why do they have x10 dampening? Can we have an x1 dampening version?
P.S. As of 1.137, they don't have flames (all modded thrusters don't, btw).

Then I suggest reading the 3 line of the bullet point list of the first image of this mod, which is named "True Ions". I am sorry for your condition. Still, the answers are all there.

Or, to cut it short: Yes, they work in atmosphere and space.

100% in space.
30% in atmosphere.

Like vanilla ion thrusters.

XRay: Are you referring to the Sektan thrusters? Because, if you follow the history of these, you will notice that a) these models are entirely different b) the textures are different c) the code is different, as far as thruster code can go.

If you are referring to the Modular Thrusters by Rider, then you will realise that this is both approved by Rider and a variant reupload because people flagged his original work as a copy of Sektan's mod, despite the above mentioned.

Stratos: Please use the original "Rider's Backup" from my workshop, which I also posted. It works in atmosphere/space, has full strength dampeners and is 5x power.

kris: I am not sure what you mean by that. It comes with all blocks the original mod by Rider came with.

Sounds good. We actually dropped mods from our servers moving forward. I just need to get the ships loaded for a showcase I am doing and then we are prety much done with them.

I was using this mod after ours failed too, but I found the issue. The issue was with glass windows which just happened to be on the specific ships I was using. Coloring them, pasting some of them, and welding them are all causing game crashes. Thanks for checking with me though!

I can paste in anything except large ship with these thrusters and the 1 game I had saved with a large ship with them crashes when it loads.

Pasting in blueprints crashes the game. See the bug section for 1.109. Needs a Keen hotfix.

Not sure if it is just me, but the mod is crashing the game since the update today. Tried a few versions of it, but they all crash when a large ship blueprint with these thrusters gets pasted in. Small ships seemed ok.

It looks like the default <SlowdownFactor>1</SlowdownFactor> is 10 if you don't set it in the mod. This is a change in the game recently I believe. If you don't add that tag to the thruster they damp at 10x and it uses the old behavior.

You can fix it by adding <SlowdownFactor>1</SlowdownFactor> to each thrusters XML block.
