I found a spot on the map where the zombies actualy cant get to you, i was just shooting a few times to attract them, then ran back there and just mele'd them with 100% safety:steambored:

The 12 gauge shotgun is called "bluntforce" and can be found right next to the ammo in the first room on the right when you enter the mall

there is no ammo purchase for colt, however other pistols naturally spawn around the map
