The Spider idea with the web spinning out is brilliant, but the execution could be better. It looks a little hyper-realistic for the game that's not supposed to be very realistic, don't you think?

Maybe if you made the spider look less detailed and real, more ghostly, that might make it fit a lot better.

idea is very good and original, but maybe use a different spider? that one doesn't read well from a distance (imho). or maybe it's the color

Make a second effect and make that one brown, but keep this one too

Hmm, I'll make it a dusky brown. I was too scared to google search for spider reference pictures.
