Thanks for testing again.

Played this back in 2015; still fun to solve the second time around. By the way Andi, I wish Medusa would stop objectifying people.

Thank you very much, I appreciate that. I have an idea for a chamber for TIMEX.
Andi  [author] 27 Jan, 2016 @ 10:21pm
Redstoncraft asked me to be involved with TIMEX and I just joined the effort yesterday. Honestly, I don’t know exactly what I’ll be doing, but I would love to design a chamber or two for TIMEX.

Thanks for testing.

Kind of difficult to figure out the sequence for the gel jumps/bounces. Nice maps very challenging . thanks for creating.

Thank you so much for testing, I'm GLaD you all liked it.
vallibus 24 Nov, 2015 @ 8:01am
Wow! Another great map. I was stuck for a while in the last chamber (with the overhead ledge) until I remembered a technique I had had to use in anotherr of your maps.
dire.fcs 13 Oct, 2015 @ 11:57am
Really nice map with the gels again :steamhappy:.very good design, nice platorms on the goo after we press the pedestal button. nice set of jumps to access the exit area.
TG 2 Oct, 2015 @ 11:15am
Here is the antline I am refering to: http://gtm.steamproxy.vip/id/TreasureGhost/screenshot/397798135982171387
There should be an Aperture logo coming from the output (button) and when it turns.
A destroyed chamber! Looking forward, thanks.
Andi  [author] 2 Oct, 2015 @ 11:10am
@ TreasureGhost Thanks for playing, I'm GLaD you liked it, Lighting was a problem in this chamber because it's so large but I'm leaving it as is. I can't find the antline that you are referring to. There is only one antline at a 45 degree angle and it seems to work fine.

Funny that you would mention a destroyed chamber... I'm working on a couple of them now, one with a skybox. I'll publish them when I'm done with the CC chambers. Thanks again.
TG 2 Oct, 2015 @ 2:39am
And, I've seen you forgot some Aperture logos from outputs, do not forget putting them.
TG 2 Oct, 2015 @ 2:37am
Why not learn something else rather than clean/reconstructing?
I suggest learning Underground, can go well if done right!
TG 2 Oct, 2015 @ 2:35am
Spectacular visuals Andi, I really like that your own style, but I think the lighting is a bit bland, you might want to put a bit more colorful things.
I also noted, there is an antline that is not doing a 90 degrees turn, its doing 45, I note that everytime there is a turn, no matter what, put the Aperture logo.
I also suggest using tubes for the gel dropper, will fit more for this reconstructing theme.
Everything else is fine, you have the right conditions, Andi!
Thumbs up!
Andi  [author] 29 Sep, 2015 @ 8:29am
Thank you very much. I appreciate it.
wildgoosespeeder 27 Sep, 2015 @ 1:23pm
Very nice gel chamber.
NerdByDaylight 27 Sep, 2015 @ 2:55am
Awesome map! I didn't know how to solve the last "jumping area". The idea to place a portal on the floor and the second one to the small area, where the orange goo is, to take speed and then taking more speed by placing the second portal to the wall on the other side... Impressive! :D
Andi  [author] 23 Sep, 2015 @ 1:52pm
I updated this chamber. I took p0rtalmaster's advice and added the "env_projectedtexture" (thank you). Also, I revampled the area with the bounce gel, it's more open now. I hope everyone likes the change.
The Sojourner 22 Sep, 2015 @ 7:16pm
One thing I was thinking with regards to the lighting: "Man, that big area could really use an env_projectedtexture from somewhere up high. That would really give the room a much cooler effect." If you already have one, you may need to change "Enable Shadows" to "Yes"....
Andi  [author] 22 Sep, 2015 @ 3:49pm
Thanks for testing.
kimist108 22 Sep, 2015 @ 2:54pm
Oh, I am so glad I had learned that maneuver to build up height for making the jump to the last pedestal button. Otherwise, I would have been stumped.
Andi  [author] 22 Sep, 2015 @ 11:14am
Thank you for testing, I'm GLaD you liked it. The lighting was a issue in this chamber because it's so large, but I try to balance it out as best as I could. Perhaps I should I add a lit more light becasue Ace Ryder said the same thing. Once again, thanks for testing.
GBMusicMaster 22 Sep, 2015 @ 9:56am
@Ivo--Since CC1 used only one button for the cube, and CC2 uses two buttons, maybe there's a theme...
| \_/ () 22 Sep, 2015 @ 2:56am
I think the map is fine.

Since this mappack focuses on companion cubes I thought there would be more emphesis on the cube. Instead it only holds two buttons pressed and that's it. You could remove the cube, buttons and doors and the test would be more or less the same. That's my only complaint.

Visually the map looks cool, the glass and gratings look very neat with those blue squares, and I absolutely love the new design of the stairs. Next time I use stairs in one of my maps I'll make them the same way. A minor nitpick is that there are so many lights in the map, yet there aren't any bright areas, that I had the feeling I'm playing on mat_fullbright. I'd keep the more unimportant areas of the map darker, but that's just me.

The test music is great! Who made it? I thought the answer would be in the description. Oh well.
Andi  [author] 21 Sep, 2015 @ 11:25pm
The Delta Labs music was installed in CC1.
GBMusicMaster 21 Sep, 2015 @ 7:48pm
Andi, you told me the music came from the original Portal and was called Delta Labs. I have not chased it down on my computer, though--I'm just referring to an email that contained the unlooped version. So, Brave, there's the best answer I can give you.
n/a 21 Sep, 2015 @ 5:49pm
Could use more shading and lighting direction
Andi  [author] 21 Sep, 2015 @ 4:43pm
Thank you all for playing.

@Brave The music was custom. GBMusicMaster looped it for me. I can't remember what it was called, sorry.
Brave 20 Sep, 2015 @ 2:43pm
Not bad, but lots of running around this huge tower with the cube, and conveying gel. It felt like I was playing my map The mystified pyramid again moving gel and carrying the cube from area to area.
Cool music, did you use an ambient_generic or soundscape for the background music and was it custom?

Thumbs up for a well designed map!
DeathWish808 19 Sep, 2015 @ 5:02am
Wow, just watched your walkthrough. I certainly made things much harder on myself than need be in the first area. haha.
Andi  [author] 19 Sep, 2015 @ 2:35am
@p0rtalmaster I fixed the nodraw texture, also, I can't remember what the name of the music was, I would have to look it up.

@DeathWish808 I added an escape door on the lower level where you got trapped in your blind run.
Andi  [author] 18 Sep, 2015 @ 9:14pm
Thank you both for testing, I"m happy to hear you liked it.

@DeathWish808 Thanks for the video and thanks for adding this map to your competition. You solved this chamber as intended. Sorry about the trapping issue on the lower level. I didn't think about that. I'll work on a fix.
DeathWish808 18 Sep, 2015 @ 8:14pm
Thanks for linking me this map. It's now part of a competition between me and nockscitney. The following blind run is mine, of course, and he will play the maps in the same order. His streams are M-F at 8AM EST and whatever that is in British time. ;-P

Link to his channel to watch him play is in the video's description.

The Sojourner 18 Sep, 2015 @ 8:03pm
Now I'm on to your little secrets. While I was at it, I found this (up close)

The Sojourner 18 Sep, 2015 @ 7:57pm
Spectacular map, managed to complete this one in one sitting for a change :p2cube:
So, who did the music? 'cause it was pretty awesome too.
Andi  [author] 18 Sep, 2015 @ 8:23am
Thanks for playing, I'm GLAD you liked it.
jgaultney 18 Sep, 2015 @ 8:09am
Excellent map! My solution was the same as yours except I did not use that central tower
that's shown in the second thumbnail. I simply flung over to the platform with the
stairs, before applying any blue gel, and went down the stairs to get the cube. Also, it's a
good thing I remember your "Under The Dome" map else I'd likely have gotten stuck :steamhappy:

Thumbs up!!
Free Beer 17 Sep, 2015 @ 12:56pm
Excellent map!
GBMusicMaster 17 Sep, 2015 @ 6:09am
Perfect! The music fits in very well here, and everything looks the way it should. This chamber is excellent, Andi--one of your very best! Thumbs up and favorited!
