B-flat Trumpet (likely more appropriate bc Jane's trombone is Bb as well, and the trombone positions are translatable to trumpet very easily in concert pitch (1=o, 2=2, 3=1, 4=1+2, 5=2+3, 6=1+3, 7=1+2+3) and the military uses B-flat) 1+2, 1, 1+2, 1, 2,
C Trumpet (easier to animate, trombone positions don't relate as well) o, o, o, o, o
note:trumpets never play just the third valve unless they're doing something very fast and need it as an alternate for 1+2.

I can also provide a more realistic music sample (i play trumpet and cornet (basically a trumpet with a slightly softer, more morale-boosting tone used more often by the military) as well as provide insight on this instrument. feel free to hmu.

I think the sound played should be something military related like the tune Reveille or Assembly. Either of those would be suitable for the taunt.

I love it, the tune reminds me of TAPs without sounding too much like it, it would make for a great tount kill or taunt you do after you kill someone. I just that when/if this is added to the game that Valve doesn't do anything to to soundfile that the taunt currently has by making the soldier play the trumpet worse than he's playing it here.

I don't want to see a repeat of the Badpipes taunt.
