It should work but with the old jump drive design the new vanilla jump drive should works with too.

Just to be sure are you close to a planet when using it cause jumpdrives doesn't work in planets vicinity and not only this mod one....

First do you see the red message when you use the task bar shortcut jumpdrive key ?
For small jumpdrives the limit is 100 000 Kg thus if your ship is 300 000 Kg you must have 3 jumpdrive on it for large ship the limit is 500 000 Kg per jumpdrive.

also would adding more than one drive increece that weight limit?

i'll try to move the mod up how ever what is the weight to make the ship to heavy?

Well i've just created an empty world with two ships using this mod and all went ok can you tell me how do you launch your jumpdrives and are you sure your ship is not too heavy for the jumpdrives you have put on it ? If you using many mods it's also possible one have a conflict with this one so put it on the top of your selected mods list it could avoid problems.

when i press the jump button..it doesnt do anything

Yes both escape jump drives for small and large ships have a 5 kms range.
