I'm curious if you'd like to collaberate on a mod with me, I don't have too much modding experience but I've been learning somewhat by using the modders guide. Please get in touch!

I can't try it because I'm currently playtesting an Undertale civ mod, but I know that bnw/g&k civs crash in vanilla because they try to insert spy lists into databases that don't exist.

You should get BNW at least for the winter sale, it makes the game so much better.

also dilexic sorry for bad english

but dose vannila work
Sinnoh Confirmed  [author] 14 Dec, 2015 @ 2:05pm
I... guess it'd require either G&K or BNW because of some sloppy XML regarding the spy list.
(The general consensus is to assume everyone has BNW and work from that.)
I didn't Rigorously Test this mod, but Rigorous Testing is coming with my next one. (Which is why it's taking so long.)

is it gods and kings only ore vannila

You still get citadels. No combat bonus means you have to use citadels, and as land-hungry octopeople with guns, they work out in your favor. It'll get rebalanced after I finish trying cultural diversity for my Xenoblade mods.

this may be a silly question, but what is the point of a CG that doesn't give a combat bonus?
Sinnoh Confirmed  [author] 27 Oct, 2015 @ 3:33pm
Those are pretty big deals, I should put them in the description.

In other news, I remembered there's a social policy that boosts Great General rate even more, so there's potential for absurd stacking.

Would you mind showing the decisions you worked on?
Toheck 26 Oct, 2015 @ 9:10pm
Maybe something like the Iroquois forest-as-road bonus?

(by the way, I love making ideas, so if I'mspamming too much, just let me know.)
Sinnoh Confirmed  [author] 26 Oct, 2015 @ 6:59pm
I wanted a movement bonus because of ink, but anything Lua that's not from the decisions mod is beyond me. Healing sounds less like stealing from other civs.
Toheck 26 Oct, 2015 @ 6:46pm
Maybe a healing bonus, rather than a combat one? I'm trying to think of something that would mimic the way ink functions in-game.
Sinnoh Confirmed  [author] 26 Oct, 2015 @ 5:31am
Maybe a bonus in friendly lands to encourage you to make offensive citadels, but "more land and a combat bonus in your land" is just what the Shoshone have.
Toheck 25 Oct, 2015 @ 8:04pm
As you have observed, the effectiveness of the GG spawn bonus depends on the map size.

What you should do is add an extra bit to the UA which either gets more useful the bigger the map, or is always useful regardless of its size, and that will help balance the problem with bigger maps.

v2 Change Notes reposted from Change Notes tab:
- Realized I forgot to enable music files.
- Enabled music files.
- Peace music is now Octo Valley BGM (was Final Boss Phase 1)
- War music is now Final Boss Phase 1 (was Final Boss Phase 2)

On another note, please let me know how much of a multiplier you think the UA should be for proper balance, and tell me the map size you like playing on.
Sinnoh Confirmed  [author] 25 Oct, 2015 @ 4:06pm
The problem with changing citadel rate is that it's a UA very much based on map size. One boost might be too much for small, and too little for huge.
Sinnoh Confirmed  [author] 25 Oct, 2015 @ 3:54pm
I considered x3 spawn rate but I remebered the crazy things people did with x1 spawn rate. This is very, very liable to change.
Toheck 24 Oct, 2015 @ 10:03pm
The great general idea is cool, but I think that, even with 100% faster generation, you won't have enough of them for that to be the entirety of their UA.
Though I guess, if you're smart about it, you might be able to pull off some crazy stunts with those citadels, especially on a crowded map.

Yay!
Sinnoh Confirmed  [author] 22 Oct, 2015 @ 7:33pm
Good news: Octo Valley background music is in. Bad news, I didn't get to check on any music bugs and can't until Sunday because camping trip.

On another note, I guess Cap'n Cuttlefish has to be the Inkling leader because plural leaders is too much Lua for me to bother with. Time to figure out a balanced way to get land peacefully without being America or the Shoshone. Feel free to make suggestions.
Sinnoh Confirmed  [author] 22 Oct, 2015 @ 6:56pm
Great timing, sir, youtube to mp3 just came back to life.
Sinnoh Confirmed  [author] 22 Oct, 2015 @ 6:55pm
If I ever make an Inkling civ, they get the hopping popping squid sister music. But I have no idea if I should throw the leadership at Callie and Marie or Cap'n Cuttlefish. They'll be peaceful land expansion though.

I'll work on changing the music, but it might not be out until Sunday EST because I'm busy for the weekend.
Hostile Alpaca 22 Oct, 2015 @ 6:52pm
I've noticed a small problem and I'm not sure if it's just me or not. When I start a game as Octavio, the music doesn't play and I am stuck with the music played in the title screen.

This also brings a suggestion. Looking at the War and Peace music tracks, I personally believe the theme of the 1st stage of the final boss level (so, not the Squid Sisters version) should be the War track instead of the Peace track and that this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rAojol0hWBc should be the Peace track. I mainly say this for two reasons: One is that it seems too intense for a Peace track, and two is that it seems odd to use the music for the 2nd stage of the final boss (the Squid Sisters version) considering that the Squid Sisters are Inklings, the sworn enemies of the Octarians. It's just my personal opinion though.

To clarify, it's a fast and easy way to spread your turf. The general does nothing so you have to use them on citadels.
Sinnoh Confirmed  [author] 22 Oct, 2015 @ 6:37pm
The point is citadels! Citadels citadels citadels forever! It's just like a game of Splatoon.
Polyester™ 22 Oct, 2015 @ 6:31pm
Whats the point of a great general if their combat bonus is nothing?
Hostile Alpaca 22 Oct, 2015 @ 2:58pm
I love you.
