I like the Idea of the Romans havning riches through their trade. also the defensiv ability to protect the trade is nice. and the unique units look nice on paper (i couldnt run the mod yet)
About the balancing changes in Patch 1.1
I like the addition of camels and Siege engineers.
But: No chemistry and no Bracer? even with ballistae, Skirms and Ships are below average, and the towers miss 1 range and 2 attack, making them pretty meh, too... (in a trash war, the romans don't have a single decent/good unit)
I think that the UTs only slightly compensate the weaknesses of the tech tree, but a complete tech tree without those UTs would be stronger. (e.g. Spanish)

I don't plan to give specific dates because I'm not certain on when I'll be able to dedicate to it, but it's coming :)
