Perfection, as always. I feel like Sherlock solving your puzzles! If this, or that isn't the solution, then whatever is left must be the answer! Total fun, makes you think, but do-able!
SpielSatzFail 23 Mar, 2024 @ 6:12am
Intimidating at first, but in fact this one is full of simple side puzzles to complete the whole thing. Execution until everything is done feels a bit tedious.
You should have swapped the cube droppers so the player spawns the companion cube just once.

Another great puzzle. Thank you!

genius!! amazing stuff, very fun & challenging puzzle - thank you!
totes amaze balls 27 Oct, 2020 @ 2:18pm
Very fun, at first I was all "oh god this is a beast", but it turned out to be much more enjoyable than I thought it would be, there were some quite fun steps. Well done.
Pwner’s Manual 19 Oct, 2020 @ 11:42am
There was one move I really liked early in the solution, and another instance of an area existing on the map which is hard for the player to find. I'm mixed on this puzzle.
Petutski 17 Mar, 2020 @ 8:24am
Excellent map! Just the right size and complexity. Thanks!
metadavid 21 Nov, 2019 @ 1:41pm
On a return visit, I had to completely re-think the whole puzzle. I love the mechanics of this one. :-)
canticle 15 Nov, 2019 @ 7:20pm
Kind of took a bit to figure out how to navigate around and find where you could, and could not, get to from a given location. Got stumped for a while on how to get rid of the turrets since I seem to have difficulty remembering to look 'up" :steamfacepalm: . I had to redo the finale since, as others have mentioned, the cube did not line up properly in the socket to open the door. Cruel that you made me sacrifice my friend the companion cube instead of the standard cube.:steamhappy: Very enjoyable to solve!!!
vallibus 2 May, 2019 @ 1:03pm
Interesting and fun.

@Teo You weren't stupid then, you're just experienced now! :D Glad you enjoyed it
Teo 13 Feb, 2019 @ 1:46pm
Really fun map! I'm going back through lots of your maps that I tried when I first got the game and couldn't figure out and it's a real fun time, if embarrassing as I now realize how stupid I was :P
Demon Arisen  [author] 9 Sep, 2018 @ 3:35am
@metadavid Thanks very much! :D
metadavid 8 Sep, 2018 @ 11:46pm
Great puzzle Demon Arisen, up there with all of your other astonishingly genius designs. This one a sequential figure-out-as-you-go type with some fun features. Thanks
Demon Arisen  [author] 6 Feb, 2018 @ 10:38pm
@Tronsnake Thanks! Well done for solving it quickly.
Hikari 6 Feb, 2018 @ 8:23pm
Solved it in a breeze. Love the challenge! Good call marking the cubes so that we could tell them apart.
Mâché 4 Feb, 2018 @ 4:19pm
Everything flowed pretty well in this puzzle (no pun intended...y'know... gel? i'm bad at comedy wah). Excellent work! Hope to see this one remastered soon!

Mikeastro 14 Sep, 2017 @ 12:35pm
Nothing too difficult, but it's kinda nice for a gel based puzzle
Demon Arisen  [author] 14 May, 2017 @ 10:49am
@Warmonger Well... sorry to disappoint, but you have to work out what to do. It's kind of the point of a puzzle.
Warmonger 14 May, 2017 @ 10:47am
Okay, but when I open map like this for a first time, I see simply nothing to do - just walls, walls, walls.
Demon Arisen  [author] 14 May, 2017 @ 10:06am
@Warmonger Thanks, feedback taken. I do use signage on my more recent maps, but I think a lot of the fun of a test chamber is working out what to do. Just because you found it difficult, doesn't mean it's my fault. The glass and grating is a necessity to prevent unintended solutions.
Warmonger 14 May, 2017 @ 9:04am
You should use signs to suggest what the hell is player supposed to do on a map. Looking at the walls of glass and gratings is not fun.
Demon Arisen  [author] 20 Apr, 2017 @ 7:04am
@Steve1965 Thanks for the physics lesson, and I'm glad you liked the puzzle! :p2cube:

I love how the companion cube continues spinning as it enter the funnel after the bounce. I assumed that entering a funnel froze all motion immediately but it apears it only stops linear velocity while angular velocity (i.e. rotation) bleeds off quiclky but not instantly. Linear and angular velocity appear to be governed by different laws of motion in Portal. Upon reflection, this is necessary since as you fling through the air, you have very limited control on changing your linear direction, but you have total control over your rotation, i.e. which way you are facing. Great puzzle btw.
Demon Arisen  [author] 31 Mar, 2017 @ 11:13pm
@Fumbly Bumbly Initially yes, to avoid a cube-stacking solution. However, now the cube is behind the laser field there isn't, but I no longer have the file. Never seen the cube not fall into it properly though :/
Fumbly Bumbly 31 Mar, 2017 @ 10:16pm
Nice chamber, but was there a reason for the exit to have a cube button instead of a normal one? It was just a tad annoying to get the cube into the socket since it wouldn't want to go in straight. Besides that, a good chamber. Thumbs up!

@苯拉灯 It needs to be this large to work, I'm afraid. I don't like oversized puzzles either, but sometimes they have to be done.
Benzolamps 13 Feb, 2017 @ 5:33pm
It is an easy puzzle, but much too large, thumbs up...:p2wheatley::p2wheatley:

@narr Thank you! :) Glad you're enjoying my tests, more are always on the way!

:p2cube: straightforward fun map. i got this as the finisher to your "best of"-list whicih i enjoyed a lot. only "access denied" did really confuse me :D . it's just logical to follow you now :taloslol:

@bullfrog I'm so glad you're enjoying these! :D

Yet another brilliant map of yours. I love doing that to turrets, but I spent so long doing it that I forgot something, got stumped and couldn’t work it out. Gave up and had a break, then came back and started from the beginning and of course saw what I’d forgotten i.e. the button right at the start !!!:steamfacepalm: After that I managed to work through it logically without too much of a problem. Thank you.
jandlml 27 May, 2016 @ 7:43pm
that was excellent,favorite
dr777099 20 May, 2016 @ 10:25pm
Loved it. Great job!
lfairban 20 Sep, 2015 @ 11:16am
Very good. It looks hard, but isn't if you take it one step at a time.
wildgoosespeeder 2 Aug, 2015 @ 3:23pm
Very enjoyable! The one thing that seemed a bit unclear is that one button that enables the excursion funnel. Also beware of this kind of solution:

Yet another masterpiece in your collection. I had a lot of fun playing this. I got stuck for a few minutes figuring out what to do with the button and why the laser turned off but once i figured out you have to go through it yourself with the funnel and the cube on the funnel and then press the button so the other companion cubes bounces to the funnel to the exit button which I had been figuring out how to do for the longest time I felled so relieved. I love how the cube ride to the funnel builds anticipation for the big moment when the exit door finally opens!
The Sojourner 20 Jul, 2015 @ 6:52pm
Somehow I found this one......surprisingly straightforward (though complicated no doubt). Still very fun to solve :p2cube:
ZAEROS 19 Jul, 2015 @ 1:53am
Took several attempts and much anguish before I saw the route. Very nice looking and lots of puzzle for me. Enjoyed, Thank you.
Demon Arisen  [author] 14 Jul, 2015 @ 7:17am
Thanks very much dire and Rector, I'm pleased you both enjoyed it! I've been inspired by playing Portal Stories: Mel to make more tests, so I ought to have another one coming soon!
Rector 14 Jul, 2015 @ 7:02am
Another excellent one! I wasted the first 10 minutes trying to paint the walls blue and trying to wall jump and then finding out that it doesn't work XD After I saw what I had to do, it became so much more clearer and easier. Big thumbs up on this one. Thoroughly enjoyed it. :D
dire.fcs 13 Jul, 2015 @ 5:06pm
As jgaultney said, nice use of funnel/gel to prevent further unintended ways; nice map overall and good looking chamber. thumbs up.
jgaultney 13 Jul, 2015 @ 8:06am
Exactly. Spreading gel directly with portals would have, I think, allowed unintendeds
in the exit area :) Your way neatly prevents that.
Demon Arisen  [author] 13 Jul, 2015 @ 7:52am
Thanks jgaultney, I'm pleased you found it fun! Do you mean the method of having to use the funnel to spread the gel around?
jgaultney 13 Jul, 2015 @ 7:49am
A great gel puzzle and very clever method of preventing the gels mis-use :D
Thumbs up and favorited!!
