@Morry They aren't accepting scrap metal. Also, the smoke and bigger range effects from torch stop working after a server restart.
@Drathek could you open the source of this mod and allow the community to fix/publish it? I'll really like to try to fix these problems, it's a great mod!
Morry 9 jul, 2019 @ 12:31
Am I doing something wrong or aren't forges accepting scrap metal at the moment?

This mod is beautifull, i love collision based smoke. if only it affected other things that involved a fire, like the forge or the industrial grill.
Alendi Istari 23 feb, 2018 @ 16:25
Good mod. I second the motion for the ability to adjust the brightness and light radius in an ini file.
Kashiwa_XR 5 jan, 2018 @ 1:30

@Joe78man; Technically, charcoal produced properly lasts longer than wood does and may burn brighter too. However, charcoal obtained in the game, is not that. Its just used up fuel that is good for drawing on walls and leaving black dust all over your hands and pissing off your friends by filling their pockets with it so you can slow them down. Or make bullets out of it.

Charcoal produced properly, burns away 100% of all the useless material inside like the moisture and sappy stuff without harming the pure stuff that would make it a great fuel source. Ever barbecued over those black charcoal things you get in bags? Now those are great for fuel.

dead mod broken
Manu 18 nov, 2016 @ 13:27
I don't think charcoal is a propper fuel source for light. It burns no fire or very small flame if the amount is high enough for the heat to produce a flame. Either is not a valid fuel source at all or the light produced should be very dim, usefull to cook and heat source, but there is no way charcoal serves for ilumination purposes

Oh, I actually like this idea for infinite torches better because it lets you choose your fuel type:
http://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=729356471
But I'd rather not mix torch mods up.
Vas 15 nov, 2016 @ 10:53
Just a thought but, what about an infinite angler gel torch? With boosted range.

Any news about the Admin Wall Torches?
Krysta 14 aug, 2016 @ 5:57
Everything about this is awesome. Thank you very much for your hard work.

something like mod bright torches
⛧CatWeb⛧ 11 jul, 2016 @ 9:29
Also every time and enter the game the normal torch engram goes last
⛧CatWeb⛧ 11 jul, 2016 @ 7:27
I believe the point is that held torches give off almost 2x as much light as any other torch/fire in the game. It doesn't make sense that a standing torch would give off less light that when you're holding it in your hand..
⛧CatWeb⛧ 11 jul, 2016 @ 7:25
All of them have * . With gasoline it really brights lighter. I ask you about that because the simple torch have better radius than all of them and it is not very balanced because of that(my opinion).
⛧CatWeb⛧ 11 jul, 2016 @ 5:35
i use charcoal and wood. charcoal i take from campfire and put to torchlight. Thank i'll see if there is a *
Drathek  [skapare] 10 jul, 2016 @ 20:20
M4STER-ALEXX, I'm back from a 4th of July vacation now, so I can see what I can do about your bug, though it will be trickier to debug since it involves a save and reload. Currently the important variables should be serialized and the server should update the client with the correct value for them, but there may be something different ARK is doing for UE4 regarding serialization and rep notify from a relaunch.
Drathek  [skapare] 10 jul, 2016 @ 20:16
Warfare, if the standing torch you are placing does not have an * at the end of its name, then you have a mod that is conflicting with this mod. Also, take note that as of a recent update the type of fuel matters for light radius. Currently the 4x light radius is achieved with gasoline fuel.
⛧CatWeb⛧ 7 jul, 2016 @ 14:31
It is not like the screenshot of standing torchlight.hand torchlight works with more radius
⛧CatWeb⛧ 7 jul, 2016 @ 13:45
Hi, I have a problem with standing torch, it does not light the 4x radius. I'm using it with mod MorEndGame which add engram points and does not have any intersection with your mod. any advises?

Super endlich Licht
Vas 4 jul, 2016 @ 22:51
Your mod be mentioned and shown in my video! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DSgu-eXdudo
I just wish I could see these from further out, even with the game on max settings, the torches disappear and light disappears when I'm on the island and looking at the coast line of the Ark island. Like, trying to see Herbivore Island from Ark Island or Ark from Herb Island. I know its an issue with the game and not the mod though.
FlyByPi 30 jun, 2016 @ 3:01
Hi Drathek, there is still a little problem with the light radius when restarting the server. It seems all torches are reseted to normal light radius after restarting the server. I have to pick them up and place them again. After this they run as they should, until restarting again.
LCs_Smokey888 24 jun, 2016 @ 7:07
thanks its always worked before till you updated. but since the ark update they're back again thanks
Drathek  [skapare] 22 jun, 2016 @ 19:11
LCs_Smokey888, with how the developers implemented structures for crafting outside of your inventory, you need to pickup/destroy that crafting station (the smithy in this case) and place it back down to get new engrams added to it. Your smithy likely still has the original engram for the wall torch and this mod replaces that engram. I will double check regardless whether I'm able to craft them still since I am just about to push out a bugfix update right now.
LCs_Smokey888 22 jun, 2016 @ 14:50
since the update my wall torches are no longer available to craft. anyone have this problem or have a solution?
Drathek  [skapare] 21 jun, 2016 @ 5:09
M4STER-ALEXX, I'm sure that has to do with the particle system resetting when you launch again or get too far away; but that should be a easy enough fix to handle. Though I still need to confirm this happens, I'm sure it does. Thanks for reporting it. I'll see about getting you a fix later today. :)
FlyByPi 21 jun, 2016 @ 4:03
Ok, tested a bit more ...

It's not triggered by time!

When I light a torch with charcoal (other ressources not tested) everything goes fine.
I waited a hole night-day-cycle (24h) and nothing happened. A bit confused I walked around the map and after I came back to my base, the light was reseted to normal standard light radius.

So, I built a new torch, lighted with charcoal, everything was ok. Light radius raised as it should.
Now I walked away from my base (a run of 2 minutes straight in one direction) and back again. The light was reseted to normal standard light radius. I reproduced it 2 times.

Can you or anyone confim this issue?
Any idea to solve this problem?
FlyByPi 21 jun, 2016 @ 2:10
Because of your answer, I have tested a little bit.
I used charcoal in my torches. All torches I placed yesterday burns with low radius.
So I picked up one torch and placed it again with charcoal. After this I waited a few seconds and saw, that the light radias raised as it should. Perfect! But at the next night, the light radius was decreased again to low level. The torch was burning the hole day til the next night. So I did the same as the night before, picked up the torch and placed it again with charcoal. After this I waited a few seconds again and saw that the light radius raised again as it should.

So basically it works, but it seems there is something going wrong with the night-day-night-cycle or after a while the light radius gets a reset to normal.
Drathek  [skapare] 21 jun, 2016 @ 0:57
M4STER-ALEXX, what fuel are you putting into the torches? The most recent set of updates have implemented the differences between fuel types, so unless you are using an admin torch a gasoline burning torch should have the largest light radius. Also worth mentioning it won't reach its maximum insulation and light radius until 25-26 seconds after ignition.
FlyByPi 20 jun, 2016 @ 6:58
Hi Drathek, I have a little problem. Everything went right with your mod until I installed a second and third mod (Homing Pigeon / Pipes-n-cables). After installing these mods the light boost didn't work anymore. I could built all items and they worked as they should, but without the bigger light radius. So, I cleaned up the ark mod folder and steam download folder (no mods installed) and it worked as it should with the vanilla torch, campfire, etc. After this I installed your mod again, learned new engrams, built torches and campfires, but I still haven't the bigger light radius. At this moment your mod is the only one on my server. Hopefully, you have an idea?
Drathek  [skapare] 19 jun, 2016 @ 5:03
lordzile, I do not know what mods TorchBoost may be incompatible with, although there is a high possibility that total conversion mods may cause problems. What exactly isn't working for you at this point? With TorchBoost as the highest priority, you should see its name in the "pause" menu. If it is not there, then it is not actually loaded (or is not highest priority). Note that TorchBoost only uses remap arrays so it does not need to be the primary mod.
LordZile 19 jun, 2016 @ 2:36
is there any known mod that this does not work with? it was working fine then i picked up some and now it is not working. i tryed to move it to the top of teh list ans its still not working for some reason.
NotLazyTurtle 19 jun, 2016 @ 1:45
y after i made some i knew that
Drathek  [skapare] 19 jun, 2016 @ 1:44
Gasoline is made in a forge, and only thatch, wood, and charcoal are used as fuel in my forge.
NotLazyTurtle 19 jun, 2016 @ 1:32
ok nvmd its just some smoke and i can perfacly still make gasoline
Drathek  [skapare] 18 jun, 2016 @ 18:58
smokescreen, That is an odd issue that may best fixed with a full reset of the mod folder. I did reset the GUID though which should have prevented any old files from being used. You can use entity ids (to include structures) in the destroy all command so you will be able to remove those torches from them.
NotLazyTurtle 18 jun, 2016 @ 0:43
i havent played the mod but how do you make gasoliene if you can burn think with oil???
FlyByPi 16 jun, 2016 @ 0:29
Great Mod, good job! Thanks!

Yes,yes, yes the cooking of fish is working in campfire, no more errors encountered , thank you man for the best mod.
⛧CatWeb⛧ 15 jun, 2016 @ 13:05
How about cooking fish ? I'll try anyway the mod is awesome . Thank you for mod
Drathek  [skapare] 15 jun, 2016 @ 8:52
Warfare, it is intended that sparkpowder does not work as fuel when using this mod. Currently it is only used in preserving bins. Let me know if you have any problems at this point since the mod has finally gotten a long overdue update to the latest devkit version. ;)
⛧CatWeb⛧ 13 jun, 2016 @ 9:35
I can't cook raw fish meat on campfire. I does not work.+ the sparkpowder can not be use as fuel for campfire . The industrial grill is working for me and all the rest is also ok
☼Misunderstood☼ 9 jun, 2016 @ 14:54
Can't cook in cooking pots. I hope there will be a fix someday.

Alright Drathek! Please do so I loved the mod but it got messy quickly, hopefully you can throw some life to it soon~

Keep at it man.

TinchoX I still lurk around and hopefully will get some time soon to give it some love within a week or so (finals week currently). :)
