That's really awesome. Great job =)
Terminator  [author] 12 Aug, 2019 @ 2:00pm
Done already. :) As the updated map was not part of the tournament, it's only called "Homeland_v4".
Truetobi91 12 Aug, 2019 @ 12:45pm
I see. Unless there is some real intention behind that I'd love to have a version with starting trees in it as the start on that map looks really off. No need to hurry of course.
Terminator  [author] 12 Aug, 2019 @ 12:23pm
Hey. Did not do a lot with mods lately, but still trying to support them. I checked the original map script for Homeland from the WSVG tournament in 2015 and it seems like there aren't any straggler trees around the TC either.
Truetobi91 12 Aug, 2019 @ 9:02am
Is this mod still being supported? I'd like to ask if it is intentional that there are no solitary trees around the TC in "Homeland"

Excellent map pack! Thank you so much.

@Gaius, yesterday at night I was tested en it works great, congrats
Gaius 13 Feb, 2019 @ 8:39am
@chenteparao: Yes, they are good maps and they work perfectly well.
[ColAE] ChenteMoreno 13 Feb, 2019 @ 6:48am
Hi Guys, this map work fine?
Gaius 6 Jul, 2018 @ 11:27am
Okay, the problem was sloppy code on the map scripts I copied into the Map Pack.
I've cleaned up all the bad scripts and recompiled the Map Pack from scratch.
It's working just fine now and can be found here: https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1433392277

Thanks for your time,
Cheers

@Terminator I don't get what you mean about Cenotes being 'always pre-defined'. In random_map.def Cenotes is one of many (for the AI), and I can't see any difference to the other constants.
Terminator  [author] 4 Jul, 2018 @ 2:38am
Sorry for getting a little late. Like you can see in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Age2HD\resources\_common\drs\gamedata_x2\random_map.def" CENOTES is always pre-defined, so the statement "if CENOTES" is always true. I do know yet, however, what the issue is with ACROPOLIS.
Gaius 26 Jun, 2018 @ 4:18pm
@Terminator Sure, I have uploaded the original script, containing all 20 maps, to dropbox.
Here's the link: https://www.dropbox.com/s/sm0cm12fglwhyx3/Gaius%27%20Random%20Map.rms?dl=0

Thanks for the help, spending your time on this :)
Terminator  [author] 26 Jun, 2018 @ 3:01pm
Most times it should be an issue of incorrectly parsed comments or using predefined constants.
Terminator  [author] 26 Jun, 2018 @ 2:47pm
Could you upload the map script somewhere, so I can have a look into it?
Gaius 26 Jun, 2018 @ 8:50am
Hi Terminator,

I've created a Random Map Pack containing my 20 best-liked maps of AoE Vanilla, Conquerors, Forgotten Empires, and Rise of the Rajas ... giving each map a 5% chance.

However 90% or more of the time the "random" choice produces 'Cenotes', and of the remaining 10% three quarters are 'Acropolis'.

As much as I like Cenotes, the idea of a Random Map Pack is ... well, to be random, right?

So I've split the Map Pool into Random Map Packs I and II, each containing 10 maps with an equal 10% chance.

The result: 90% of Map Pack I are Cenotes, and 90% of Map Pack II are Mongolia.

Why does this happen, do you have any idea?
I've made sure no map script contains the (now unnecessary and always buggy) "include_drs random_map.def".
Some maps however do not contain an "ai_info_map_type".

I don't know what triggers this weird no-random behaviour and would be really grateful for a solution.

Cheers,
G.

I added TEC@Full which gives you a random of all the maps. So it's the original two map packs joined in one.
Terminator  [author] 2 May, 2016 @ 4:14am
You can find the mod here (or similar): C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\221380\477708270\resources\_common\random-map-scripts
Barinos 21 Apr, 2016 @ 7:35am
yes,what about them?
Terminator  [author] 1 Apr, 2016 @ 1:53am
If you open the map scripts in an editor there is a section where the gold is put. You can easily find it by searching for"gold". Do you know where mods you subscribed to are stored though?
Barinos 31 Mar, 2016 @ 10:39am
i know that`s embarrassing to ask but how can i find the gold to put on to the map???
Dazernator800 8 Dec, 2015 @ 4:21am
Thank you so much. I thought this was one of these things in which you can write a complaint and have to wait months to get a response and never get one at all... Thanks for the quick update man :D
Terminator  [author] 7 Dec, 2015 @ 2:55pm
Hey folks! I just updated this mod, so the maps are playable again with the new patch for The African Kingdoms (4.4).
Dazernator800 1 Dec, 2015 @ 6:49am
Thank you! Hit me up when you have the updated version ;) I can't wait to play these maps on HD.
Terminator  [author] 1 Dec, 2015 @ 6:38am
This clearly has to do with the stricter parsing since patch 4.4. Before the map scripts worked since mistakes inside of them were just ignored. It seems like the devs want to leave it this way. I think next week I will have the time to debug the scripts.
Dazernator800 30 Nov, 2015 @ 8:20am
I have the maps but I cannot play them. I keep on getting "Syntax script error" with different lines of the map's script. Can someone help me?
AimBob 26 Oct, 2015 @ 11:14am
I found the maps.

The problem was I looked on youtube how to see the maps. In a video I found they told me I had to select in the option game -> scenario. But I saw nothing there.

But just found out if I select in the option map style -> custom, that the maps show up in the location dropdown.

Thanks for reply

Sometimes the download will be triggered after closing Age oft Empires again. The maps should so appear next start.
AimBob 23 Oct, 2015 @ 8:38am
Maps don't show up here...
Terminator  [author] 24 Sep, 2015 @ 4:34am
I experienced the same problem myself an already posted it in the forums for two times. Seemingly there is no solution to this. :steamsad:
Geckogod5 23 Sep, 2015 @ 5:10pm
TEC Map Pack v2 only results in Budapest when in multiplayer. In single player it works properly. Is anyone else having this problem and is there a fix?
Terminator  [author] 17 Aug, 2015 @ 1:42pm
The fix to "Seize the Hump" has now been included!
Terminator  [author] 5 Aug, 2015 @ 2:02am
You can just download them from The Empire Collective cup website (like I did actually): http://empirecollective.net/map-guide/
wantin 5 Aug, 2015 @ 1:24am
how can i get these maps for my non steam installment of the game?
Breakfastlover 17 Jul, 2015 @ 4:39pm
potato
Terminator  [author] 14 Jul, 2015 @ 1:41am
Just click "Subscribe". You should then see the maps like described before. Otherwise this is a bug. It may still help to verify your game cache then.
OB1-Gianobi 13 Jul, 2015 @ 10:01pm
how it works
?
Terminator  [author] 12 Jul, 2015 @ 12:40pm
Choose map type "cutsom" then you will see the maps, prefixed by "TEC_".
®____® 12 Jul, 2015 @ 12:23pm
