@[SOS] callumjsim thanks man I apreciate the feedback, Ill keep trying to make more maps too whenever I can.
Darrow 14 Jul, 2015 @ 2:28pm
As a first test map, this is amazing. The tactical fun on this is awesome, I play medium sized units so any more maps like this , with low hills or many different routes are very welcome

@boggi11
No problem man, hope you work wonders.

@troy7trojans
Thanks man, wanted to put one actual map up here even if it was quite basic but im working on a sorta medium to large city now with a river and its taking a while for me also due to a vacation I took recently, Paused production cause my laptop cant really run Attila lol but now im back and resuming my Western Roman city.
troy7trojans 3 Jul, 2015 @ 8:01pm
Amazing mod! Keep making more!! I'll download every one!!
boggi11 3 Jul, 2015 @ 6:43am
Thanks a lot for your advice, adding maps to the game is working now!
Attila still crashes when starting a battle; it might due to the Deployment Zone Editor or to the AI hint polygons. I will try to figure the problem(s) out.
Thanks again Doomon!

@boggi11

5. To have an image you make a screenshot and save it as a png file and name it the same name as your maps file and it will automatically apply itself.
* If Attila crashes on startup or when you start battle then that might be an internal error you need to look at and fix to make it work again (like essentials) and redo the process.

Sorry if it’s too much info lol I go overboard sometimes but I just listed what I do as my process to make sure you can host your map with as less problems as I had, you can never be too careful lol.
Doomon15  [author] 1 Jul, 2015 @ 1:00pm
@boggi11

1. What I do first is make a new battle setup after I’m done with the map and export it, (think this is optional idk for sure but I’ve been doing it personally just in case)
2. Then I save map as battlefield and give it proper names and info and then Bob processes it automatically.
3. Then after its done processing by Bob (takes a while) go to the folder located at------> Total War Attila\assembly_kit\retail\data<----- and there should be your pack file after you successfully saved.
4. Afterword’s simply move the pack file from there to the folder -----> Total War Attila\data<----- and then when you open Attila launcher it should be there along with your other mods.

Hey Doomon,
first of all: tanks a lot for your map!
I am trying to make my own map now, but unfortunately I do not know how to bring them in the game. I followed all the steps written in the tutorial (http://wiki.totalwar.com/images/b/bf/TEd_Tutorial.pdf) but I fail at this point:
"Then, when you run Total War: Attila, it will appear in the launcher. If you want your map to have a photo, just give it the same name as your pack file and save as a .png image in the same folder." I do not see anything in the launcher; so, could you explain me how to integrate a custom battle map?
Thanks and kind regards

Sorry just to update - put it in the Attila Working Data folder, not the vairantmeshes.
Enginseer89 29 Jun, 2015 @ 4:42pm
Great start!

Yeah that's fine, wish you good luck!
Doomon15  [author] 29 Jun, 2015 @ 4:22pm
@[VGS]Seigneur de Vauban - Hmm ok, Ill see what I can do and see if the importing works out and I think trying small and going bigger is good too (kinda what I was doing anyways).
•LGA• Cyrus: Emperor of Mankind 29 Jun, 2015 @ 3:45pm
@Doomon

Its an excellent map though, perfect for the LOTR team that's currently making their mod. Though the AI doesn't move much unforuantely - those AI fools.

Wait, you created a Greek Small Town? That's a first, the Anicent Empires Team could have use of you in case.

Well, think of importing the Rome 2 data pack, open it up in PFM, find the models_2 files, or something like that, and import it onto the Attila Variantmeshes files. See if you can do that.

Try some small towns first, and then see if you can get it into the bigger cities.
Doomon15  [author] 29 Jun, 2015 @ 3:24pm
@[VGS]Seigneur de Vauban - Yea it was a mistake at first to make and smoothen some mounds but then I gained an idea to make a forest with ridges to dictate some paths as well so that’s why some I kept at their height due to make it a more interesting forest / mountainous battle.
Doomon15  [author] 29 Jun, 2015 @ 3:20pm
@sinuhe - Quite a task lol If I do get around importing I can see what I can do but eiither way thats a quite crazy task lol but eh I do like going nuts time to time depending on what project im aiming for, but I am gradually going higher with my projects for now, I already created a greek small town but aim to improve it or create another one cause its zones and shit are messed up and it was made before the patch.
Doomon15  [author] 29 Jun, 2015 @ 3:15pm
@[GREY]Hunor - think I can try somthing like that except ive yet to understand the whole deployables thing and such lol but I think scrabling around I can figure somthing out lol, I am still learning but teaching myself as well so ill see what I can do next.
Doomon15  [author] 29 Jun, 2015 @ 3:11pm
@shawn1macqueen- Lol yeaa kinda noticed the whole ghosting through buildings thing lol think I forgot to make em no go zones lol ima fix that, and the whole trees thing well funny thing is just listen to the error message, exclusion zones are included in the vegetation tab so just place the zone where all trees and vegetation would be availible in and when you save it wont delete anything inside the zone.
•LGA• Cyrus: Emperor of Mankind 29 Jun, 2015 @ 8:23am
Seems alright, although the ridges are a bit too high.
•LGA• Cyrus: Emperor of Mankind 29 Jun, 2015 @ 7:46am

woooow, great, would you be able to buld a huge city, or remake carthage als rome 2 with those models?? i guess must to be difficvult but id be so pleased to youi!!!
•LGA• Cyrus: Emperor of Mankind 29 Jun, 2015 @ 6:26am
Wow, excellent mate, couldy you make a map based on importing Rome 2 models into Ted?
[GREY]Hunor 29 Jun, 2015 @ 4:38am
Hey Doomon ! Excellent, keep roward your works , really nice map :)
but one question : can we create a NEW FORT-MARCHING CAMP also with TED ?
i mean : change simple wooden pallisaden wall to deployable wall ? ( like in minor roman town seen )
KhorneFlakes 29 Jun, 2015 @ 3:53am
Also, very nice map! It's quite atmospheric. There are some things to work on like soldiers being able to hop through the stone walls of the villages, and being able to walk through buildings, but overall I like it.

Keep up the good work!
KhorneFlakes 29 Jun, 2015 @ 3:12am
how did you get your trees to save in TeD? When I added trees and tried to save the map, it said that some trees were in the "exclusionary zone" and then it deleted all of the trees I had inside of the map.

Every time I try to save it does this, and it's pretty annoying to have all of your work just deleted like that.
Doomon15  [author] 29 Jun, 2015 @ 3:05am
Not really, looking online for help guides or somone who can help me, im not new to editing and map editors (messed around with Warcraft 3 editor while back and still do) but when it comes to Attila and these kinda editors I just started out basically.
SGZ***71 29 Jun, 2015 @ 2:15am
Excellent map. Makes me look forward to the day when all the battle maps in the campaign will be custom made. Will be much more immersive and exciting. Have you worked out how to place it on the campaign map yet ?
