I noticed that this mod "works", but it doesn't apply to all units. There is a subset of units that are not affected at all (e.g. lots of Carthage units), and I so far have been unable to figure out why (I'm a noob modder).

does this still work?
DoktorFar 15 Mar, 2022 @ 6:05pm
yep still works fine also for DEI 1.3.
Morphisor (xeL) 17 Jan, 2022 @ 6:40am
To provide a different sound to all the comments below, this mod definitely still works fine with the latest version. Just make sure to put it higher in the load order than the main mod.

Does not work

Can I use this with vanilla?

Is this mod working now?

It’s the COVID-19 era, and after watching videos on the Roman Empire, I must re-download this game again. But I remember I couldn’t finish my first playthrough of DEI because I got so sick of the multi-stack barbarians.

Would this work with the hardcore mod? Or is that redundant?
MorglumNecksnapper 14 May, 2019 @ 12:51am
I tried both, I guess I haven't yet tried renaming the file with @ and using the old launcher, I'll try that now.
Dresden  [author] 13 May, 2019 @ 11:57am
Are you using the old or new launcher
MorglumNecksnapper 12 May, 2019 @ 3:47pm
Does not work, I installed it manually to be 100% sure I have it in my data folder and my units still cost the same as usual.
Dresden  [author] 7 Apr, 2019 @ 1:26pm
NOTICE: The new launcher has issues with mod load order which negatively impacts submods especially. If you are having problems getting submods to work, please try the beta launcher option in the Steam game options (called release candidate launcher).

@KillWinder, Exaclty my point dude, been trying to explain this to Dresden, this mod does not change the Unit cost and upkeep at all!
KillWonder 5 Jan, 2019 @ 1:14pm
I noticed you have this also in your hardcore sub mod, so I used that one but after comparing with the base mod of DEI I saw the unit cost and upkeep were the same.
Dresden  [author] 5 Jan, 2019 @ 12:18pm
Both
KillWonder 5 Jan, 2019 @ 9:30am
Does this also count for the AI or only for the player?
Dr.Strangelove 2 Jan, 2019 @ 5:26am
Hello Dresden any chance of making a mod with 50% increased recruitment for player and AI or less base income for factions as I am tired of fighting 3 stack roman armies by turn 20 as Carthage only for another 2 stack army to attack a turn later. How a human can beat that sort of army without elephant tricks is beyond me.

1.2.4?
Ragnar 25 Sep, 2018 @ 12:39pm
Dresden I tried with the mod and without, and is still not working for some reason, and there are no conflicts with the other few mods I have
Dresden  [author] 25 Sep, 2018 @ 12:03pm
Mostly the player but a bit of the AI
Ragnar 24 Sep, 2018 @ 6:45pm
Hello Dresden, is this mod focused on the player? or both the AI and the player?
Dresden  [author] 9 Aug, 2018 @ 10:30am
Updated for todays patch
Ragnar 8 Aug, 2018 @ 10:31pm
Dresden I just figured out why this mod is not working, its because the table in the pack is focused on building and the tecknology tree

Ragnar 8 Aug, 2018 @ 10:01pm
Hello Dresden, I just started a new campaign and and the upkeep cost is still the same DEI vanilla
Dresden  [author] 8 Aug, 2018 @ 6:23pm
Should be up to date, yes its for all factions
Ragnar 7 Aug, 2018 @ 8:26pm
Hi Dresden, is this mod up to date? I see you said it is but that was back in November 2017
And is this for just Rome or all factions?
Dresden  [author] 30 Nov, 2017 @ 11:02am
Compatible with today's patch
Dresden  [author] 11 Nov, 2017 @ 3:03pm
If you are referring to the steam version of the mod, then no its not compatible. I thought you meant this submod specifically used with our beta standalone.
Lt.Speirs 11 Nov, 2017 @ 2:02pm
Can't get it to work actually. Dosean't matter, I don't need it that much. Keep doing the main project so you deliver the best quality mods you always do. Thank you for your hard work :)
Dresden  [author] 11 Nov, 2017 @ 10:17am
In theory, yes
Lt.Speirs 11 Nov, 2017 @ 7:43am
Hi, will this work with the new politics beta patch ? Thank you

Updated for 1.2
χρ Drange 15 Jan, 2017 @ 6:48am
Hey

Is there an independent mod for increase unit cost and upkeep? I would like to combine this with 3x or 2x unit increase... I am tired of small army battles but would also like to have an expensive army both for myself and the AI.

(I dont use Divide et Impera.)

Would appreciate it! Thanks.

Thank you for your perfect Mod:steamhappy:

Updated for 1.1.
Thyran 31 Aug, 2015 @ 2:17pm
What is the meta effect? All factions will wield less armies of course or use more affordable units. As the bonus money affects every small faction, will this close the gap between huge empires and small nations in terms of military?

And most importantly: Can AI dynamically adapt to these changes?
Dresden  [author] 21 Aug, 2015 @ 11:22am
DeI includes a version of its a small world already.

This submod does increase AI costs/upkeep but they still have a bonus based on difficulty level.
Ronin 21 Aug, 2015 @ 12:33am
Does it increase costs for AI as well? I mean, can i use this mod to have less AI stacks around? Or maybe you can give an advice as to what mod I should use to have less stacks? (especially maybe half the stack for small 1 region factions(that used to be rebel cities back in the days that didn't spawn armies-actually, i want to simulate something like this) i subbed to your mod It's a small world after all, what else should i use? Help is very much appreciated!
Dresden  [author] 4 Aug, 2015 @ 1:15pm
This is a submod for DeI. Compared to DeI's actual settings, it does increase. You have no idea what you are talking about. And go elsewhere with your insults.
Player One 4 Aug, 2015 @ 12:42am
I checked this mod with pack manager and it is NOT working as described. It not increases, but DECREASES units costs and upkeep and only for AI factions. Author is an idiot.
Dirty Rotten Flieger 11 Jul, 2015 @ 9:20am
I don't usually play mega mods but my freind convinced me to try yours.
I am going to have to quite my job and play full time now. Wow Thanks for making this. It is so good.
The best total war experience yet. I have many thousands of hours toal war...
Dresden  [author] 4 Jul, 2015 @ 5:55pm
Some people prefer the challenge, its an optional submod. There is also a submod for reduced costs.
kungpowcharlie 4 Jul, 2015 @ 3:34pm
why would I want this?
Dresden  [author] 4 Jul, 2015 @ 12:25pm
Yes
Bad Attitude 4 Jul, 2015 @ 2:45am
This works for both AI and player?
