If this mod ever ends up working, I suggest the following policies.

>Central Planning Committee/Gosplan
>Regulation of private property (Prohibited, cooperatives and self-employed, small businesses, SEZs, fully legal)
>Nationalisation/privatisation of economic sectors
>Collective farms
>Pay based on quantity and quality of work
>Price controls
>Wage control
>Automation

This mod seems afflicted by the same issue that the superpower mod does. I'm guessing there may be a lot more mods affected by this same issue. Hope to see them all fixed. The only playability this game has left is in its mods!

So does this mod work?/is it even still alive?
Dark Data  [author] 29 Jun, 2016 @ 2:15pm
Its probably because positech keeps updating the game.
KX99Ex 29 Jun, 2016 @ 7:16am
It seems this mod is crashing my game....for some reason

Please make a Tannu Tuva
Dark Data  [author] 17 Nov, 2015 @ 9:20am
We cant change whether there should be a opposition party or not. Also it hasn nothing to do with crashing the game.
RedZeal 17 Nov, 2015 @ 7:17am
I tried launching the mod, but my game crashed. Also, in the set up menu, there shouldn't be a opposition party. The Soviet Union was a single party state.

The idea is if the Soviet Union went full in on the ambitions of Gorbochev.

Basically if the idea of the "Soviet Federation" was not interupted by the August coup... after all the USSR did engage in actual direct democracy towards the end (with the referendums). And all thoughout it's history post Stalin did engage in democratic representation (just skewed and different from those seen in the west).

Soviet Union for "Democracy 3"?

I think this might be better suited for "Dictatorship 3" if that exists!
fopf_6 6 Sep, 2015 @ 4:45pm
No space program?
Essadon 1 Sep, 2015 @ 1:27am
Should be re-named to the "Workers of the World – Unite!" mod.
jmpveg22 31 Aug, 2015 @ 7:16pm
To me "Technology backwater" would be reserved for places where technological progresses and innovations are seldomly found. That situation does not describe the USSR at all, which did have a plethora of scientific and technological innovations and progresses. And what they didnt invent, they could emulate pretty damn well.

Pollution should be an issue... as in a really big issue.

I would be interested in Gikgik's take on a modern Soviet Union using his mods. I just dont want a cliche' Stalin USSR. I want a USSR had the August coup never went down, or was ruthlessly crushed sooner.
jmpveg22 31 Aug, 2015 @ 7:07pm
I wouldent say the USSR had a skill shortage... In fact they somewhat had a surplus of people with skills for their economy to the point where it made things somewhat inefficient. I'd say "corruption" (from Gikgik decay mod) or "uncompetitive economy" plays a larger role.

And in terms of being a "technological backwater"... are we talking about the same USSR?!?! The USSR was pretty much one of the leading technical exporters (both material and in expertise) on the globe in 1989. The USSR was not up to the technology stds of the USA and Japan... but it pretty much was the third place option... which means it still ranks ahead of 150 other nations. It is all relative, but in real terms the USSR was a technical and scientific powerhouse...just not up to USA or Japan Standards

It is like saying: your 100m dash time is not up to Usain Bolt Stds... but you were in the same race. Meaning that you are still an insanely fast dude in the grand scheme of things.

Thank you for you suggestion, I really appretiate it.
Barbarossa 30 Aug, 2015 @ 4:38pm
Oh here is somethings to add I forgot:
- Space Program with Space Station
- All the things jmpveg22 says
- I would also look around for good mods to attach to this (the work sharing mod, ltgbq rights, negative income tax, black operations v 0.2, fiscal policy, forgien affairs mod(s), etc.)
Barbarossa 30 Aug, 2015 @ 4:26pm
You asked for suggestions to improve it, so here is a list of situations to start with:
- Over pollution
- Alcohol abuse (Eastern Europeans love their vodka)
- Uncompetitive Economy
- Technological Backwater
- Drug Addiction
- Inner city Riots
- Skill Shortage
I would also suggest adding drachonian amounts of police programs (detension without trial, armed police, executions, etc.)
Виктор 30 Aug, 2015 @ 9:24am
10/10 shaped it into a autocratic fascist state.
Mr Mojo 29 Aug, 2015 @ 2:47pm
how do you download it
Gikgik  [author] 13 Aug, 2015 @ 8:42pm
The Democratic Decay now has a Planned Economy policy, to go with this mod.
jmpveg22 13 Aug, 2015 @ 7:39pm
So i have to ask... Is this a USSR mod had the Federalized USSR proposal gone through? Or just another attempt to emulate Stalins Soviet Union in the 21st century?

What is the exact context of this mod?
Dark Data  [author] 12 Aug, 2015 @ 8:34am
GOING TO RELEASE BAN MARKETS POLICY SOON.
jmpveg22 29 Jul, 2015 @ 12:13pm
Given this is a "what-if" in 2015..
Missing components:
1) The Soviets always had conscription in effect (the Russians still do to a more milder effect). T
2) The Soviets had a pretty large well funded space program. I doubt it would dissapear as in the simulation there is none
3) The Soviets military spending was pretty high throughout its existence. Yet for some reason there spending in the simulation is kinda benign. Furthermore the KGB itself (whose primary function was actually border regulation) should be reflected in an very well well fnded intelligence and border protection policies
4) Even with the Gorbochev reforms... the Soviets maintianed a heavy police and intelligence apparatus (and probably would continue to do). This should be better reflected
5) The Soviet Union HEAVILY subsidized agriculture production throughout its existence... and when it wasnt subsidized much $$$ was spent in agricultural projects.

Many others... but i feel this is a good start.
Dark Data  [author] 9 Jul, 2015 @ 7:45am
What-if scenerio where it survived to present day.
Gikgik  [author] 9 Jul, 2015 @ 7:33am
Interesting... Is this supposed to be the historical Soviet Union, or a what-if scenario where it survived to present day?
RickCall12 7 Jul, 2015 @ 2:30am
I guess the only improvement would be to make the country more Conservative Socialist in policy and a bit more economically harder.
RickCall12 7 Jul, 2015 @ 2:30am
Hmmm... I like the idea of the mod. However my only problem with it is, the mod is too easy.

Within just a term of the game, I had improved the economy and resolved a few issues.
Within the next term I did have more trouble with the global economy etc. but if those weren't an issue. I'd assume the nation would be fine.
Dark Data  [author] 6 Jul, 2015 @ 11:25am
Thanks for your suggestion. I really appretiate it.
blitzthedragon 5 Jul, 2015 @ 6:52pm
I'd recommend looking into Gikgik's Presidential Suite. Maybe see if he'd be willing to collab with you on this. A lot of his policies and sliders would work well with this.
Meat Grinder 5 Jul, 2015 @ 6:12am
Back in the USSR they dedicated enourmous amounts of statues and monuments to Lenin and other heros of the revoltuion, perhaps something like this could be added that boosts the opinion with "Everyone"?
Adil3tr 5 Jul, 2015 @ 12:06am
Fantastic!
Dark Data  [author] 4 Jul, 2015 @ 12:14am
I will redesign and add new features to socaialist policies than release it seperated from this mod and call it Planned Economy Mod.
Adil3tr 3 Jul, 2015 @ 7:11am
There's a dead mod on here called "socialist policies." It had a bunch of policies that nationalized industries and finance.
To go the full distance, I think you would eliminate capitalists and move their markers to state employees, replace income taxes with wages (the state has all the money and gives out what it wants). You could come up with some profit equation that subtracted costs from GDP to make state income. To make a full planned econonomy mod would be difficult but amazing.
Dark Data  [author] 2 Jul, 2015 @ 11:03pm
Can anyone give me some ideas on how the planned economy policies will be?
Adil3tr 2 Jul, 2015 @ 12:45pm
Are there policies for a planned economy?
Dark Data  [author] 28 Jun, 2015 @ 1:09am
Going to change the names soon. If you want a policy to be added or removed please write down your suggestions.
