The Gun Doesn't seem to work I loaded it witht he proper ammo, but it is not firing

Thank you for the update. This was my top favorite weapon mod until the atlas super laser came out with its awesome charge cycle and effects. I look forward to using this again as I will have an energy option with atlas or an ammo option with this.

Ok, so I put the base on a timer delay of one second from the barrel to see if maybe the explosive rounds were colliding with the armor piercing ones and it no longer blows itself up. I think the speed of the explosive round is fast enough to catch up to the armor piercing ones in the barrel and collide.

are the bases stackable? they keep blowing themselves up and the explosion radius doesnt seem very big as well as the dammage. it barely scratches light armor. am i doing something wrong?

well,the mod is test.
i am thinking many weapon MOD.
Forexample, "charging Lazer Gun" and "charging CustomRailGun".
They use "Power" & "Charging", and fire Powerful Attack.

....but,this is very difficult.

+Wolfiy, I know! I need to make an SMAC platform with these, but I have two 20 double stacked sets in an Orion Cruiser (my ships are scaled down) and it can easily shoot clean through most of my Covenant builds.

... double stacked about 1000 of the AP versions. Goes. Through. EVERYTHING. Except voxels, darn it. I could shoot through a planet with that 1000 stacked.

The speed of the AP and HE shell are a litte bit slow. Can you increase the speed of shell?

Thing is i was trying it on platform, just to see how good is choosen barrel length against line of blocks (penetration length). But evey time i've shoot part of head part annihilates itself.

@Aulus - Great mod! My only gripes, other than the aforementioned velocity, is that it might be a bit TOO powerful. If you can turn down the damage, that should solve the problem, as this weapon is designed to be scaled up to immense proportions, if you so desire. Currently, it's a bit overdone (though, to be fair, its one minute reload time is perfect for its damage output).

As a side note, does this weapon have conveyor compatability? If so, how does it work?

@Rockalypse, that MIGHT be due to firing while rotating; the gun works the way it does by spawning a round within the block, and the block is designed so that it has no collision inside. This means if you fire them while aiming straight, it fires X number of projectiles (which X means the number of links you make it), but the downside is that it moves so fast, that firing with it installed internally could blow up the ship's interior instead.

Try keeping the ship still and see if that solves the problem. :)

My only suggestion to the mod developer is to make the firing velocity much higher, so it clears the barrel more reliably. I did a mod very similar to this, but uses the MissileLauncherReload platform to fire four shots in similar format to what this weapon does, but without the awesome scalability that this has (but with its own drawbacks, of course)

@3eepoint There should be no recoil because railguns just use magnets to propel an object at a high velocity, and just use the HE firing piece to make it explode.

It could Use more Recoil and a wider Area of effect, like this it just pierce the enemy ship and does not get the "energy" across.....

@aulus_jpn Nice concept and fine model. However I would advocate that the guns power make its modular design weak. There is no reason to make a long gun, as just a few blocks have more than enough power to punch through any "realistic" ship. Made one with base, two barrels and a head, and shot straight through 7 blocks of heavy armor.

When I noticed this mod, I was like "cool, a reason to force long ship designs", but unfortunately this mod is more powerfull than it needs to be IMO. Even if you made it 20 times weaker, It would still be cool. Then there would be a reason to make this a battleships spinal mount. Please consider releasing a "weak" version of this gun.

Ok, it's dx11... But, the targeting laser needs to be fixxed, you can't see it.. (this is a problem for large ships with them fitted anywhere but directly under/next to the bridge)
