Excellent Mod that still works fine from my view. Saved me a lot of time hunting some Uranium vs crawling ultra-close to asteroids with the "vanilla detector". Didn't have any problem using it.

The space only ones have the high distance range. The others are standard distances set. 250m max.

What's the difference between the different detectors, there is 2 azimuth ore detectors and 1 azimuth weak detector

I have the regular set to vanilla for the reason being that anything over 250m is a memory leak and increases exponentially in size of area scanned.

It hunts the CPU and RAM down until the game locks up and dies. Try them at 1000m using the space only ones on a planet and you'll see what I mean. 😁

I had to add multiple versions of the blocks for reasons. The ore detectors range beyond 250m are exponentially increased.

it's working. I had installed the wrong one. I'm a bit puzzled why there is one that does the same thing as a vanilla detector though.

doesn't seem to work for me. i installed the large grid one from the mod but 250m is still max range.

its weird that ore detector ranges seem to tank so hard with mods, before keen flipped everything around i used to go into my game files and bump up the ore detector ranger to 15k for my single player worlds, never had any problems on planets

They work fine on planets, but don't set them too high because they will lock up even the strongest PCs.

Yeah, once you turn them on with any range over... roughly 750 they won't turn off until the block is gone.

Ore detectors are basically a memory eater until there is none left to eat. It massively depends on how good your CPU and CPU cooler are.

Yeah, that's why I don't recommend using them. They will consume your PC until the game crashes.
I really want to hide them, but I've done that too many times to count and in the end i just put a disclaimer in the mods description in-game and said Don't Use on Planets. :) Lol

The space version is really broken. you built it once, turn it ON for 1sec, and turn it off, it will never turn off, and you can see the ores even out the ship, without antenna, at the point where it becomes annoying and you have to deconstruct it to stop showing all the ores

I'm sorry if this has been asked and answered, but what is the difference between the three different kinds of scanners? I see a 1x1x1 scanner that takes very few resources to build and has a range of 5k, a weak scanner that is larger but also has a range of 5k, and a regular one that also has a range of 5k. I like the mod, just curious why I would build the different versions.

I think either Keen locked them to 250 again, or it's bugged.

Try the Space only detectors as those have the 5000 range (hopefully. :)

i am looking for some problems wiht my mod list, bc after some time the scanner wont show any ore after some playtime. after i checkt the game for errors it works but after some hours not and i have to recheckt for errors. is something like this knowen to this mod? after the check steam donwload between 4Gb and 10Mb.
