please make these legionnaires an opportunity to hire the Ostrogoths

Is it just me or do the shields seem a little too large? And all the identical yellow capes seem odd?
Anyone else?......
Just me then? k

@Bladeuk Great mod!

Any chance you can include units such as the Praetorian Guard, legionary Cavalry, Evocati etc?

Thanks!
Bladeuk  [author] 4 Jan, 2019 @ 12:33pm
Feel free to use it :)

Great mod and I use it always. A question, I like to upload an edited version for my Regional Recruitment and Roman Formations mod and put it in my workbox. Of course, it is still your mod, your name is in front, the image stays the same and you will be mentioned in the text too many times :steamhappy:

My edits are recruitment costs, upkeep, formations, abilities, unit group attributes, recruitment buildings. It gives a better fit for the Legionary Cohort for vanilla players who use my mods.

My mods bring some regional recruitment, restore the traditional rol of infantry soldiers and roman legions and give more interesting battles (at least for me).

It's a year since the last post here so possibly you are not active anymore, but let's try it.

Would it be possible to add square and/or hollow square formations to this unit? And possibly add it to the Roman Expedition Faction?

I really love this mod btw :D
Magnus Furius 28 Feb, 2017 @ 2:06am
Hey, I noticed this is compatible with the latest patch. However it seems that they are no longer available at the Roman Expidition, at least in custom battles anyway (can select them with WRE).

Nice mod, really helps make you feal like you are restoring roman glory. Also, would it be possible for you to add a version with manica?
Sgt. Sanchez [16th IR] 5 Sep, 2016 @ 5:45pm
For some reason. this mod seems to be messing with all the text in-game.
Bladeuk  [author] 23 Aug, 2016 @ 9:22am
Thanks to everyone who put supportive comments :)

@jasonlee21, I understood you more than a lot of native English speakers so don't worry about that! Also yeah I think the bonus vs. infantry would make them to OP, as they get a bonus vs. infantry anyway for using 'stay in formation'
Maltin21 23 Aug, 2016 @ 8:21am
Sorry if my english is weird in some way, not my native toung.
Hope what i meant got through undistorted
Maltin21 23 Aug, 2016 @ 8:18am
The super heavy look is awaome!

Really enjoying the game a lot more thanks to your work.

BTW it'd be nice if the legionaries also had bonus vs infantry like other melee infantry in the game, though it might make it a bit too powerful

PS.I'm pretty sure that most of the community members including me really appreciate such work, unlike some twat
alexh0079 22 Aug, 2016 @ 8:21pm
Awesome mod! This gives the Roman's the staying power that they desperately need.
Grimslayer0101 13 Aug, 2016 @ 11:35pm
Don't mind someone who does not appreciate others work @Bladeuk its a wonderful mod and i've had tons of fun with it. Thanks a lot for your work :)
Bladeuk  [author] 13 Aug, 2016 @ 5:39am
@Fuzzyballs01...thanks for calling me names when you are using my work to play in your game, and if your not asking me to change it....what was the point?

Do me a favour and uninstall any mods by me, I really hate that can't ban you from using them.

I've literally had enough of the community on here calling modders names when they use their work for free. People like you disgust me.
Fuzzyballs01 ꦙ 13 Aug, 2016 @ 5:18am
I'm not asking you to change it, ya dick
I already edited the pack myself
Bladeuk  [author] 13 Aug, 2016 @ 4:36am
Constructive criticism would be that comment...they are too overpowered, not putting things like authors and their toys, or words like how is it fair. The whole comment you put and the way it is toned is not constructive at all, that would be called negative feedback.

The "spamming" is not because of price, but because of the way I have told the AI to use them, legions were made up of lots of legionaries in Rome 2, and this is the way this is based.

The morale is "annoyingly high" as you put it as this is the same as the legions in Rome 2, highly disciplined men who keep formations. Having them with rubbish morale would go against the when legions worked so that's why it's higher than the average unit.

If enough people feel think they get spammed, or the morale is too high then I can change it, but I won't change a mod that almost 4000 people use because of one person, by all means change the name of the pack file, and then adjust it yourself for your use.
Fuzzyballs01 ꦙ 13 Aug, 2016 @ 3:28am
I'm not complaining, and you can't just choose not to use a unit mid-campaign
I'm stating a fact, they are too powerful for when you get them in the game, the AI spams them because they're cheap, and their morale is annoyingly high
tadaaaa

good job taking constructive criticism, bub
Bladeuk  [author] 12 Aug, 2016 @ 12:58pm
@Fuzzyballs, these are still way less powerful than some units in game, for example Suebi Champions have 67 melee attack, 32 melee defense, 108 morale, these have 34 attack, 40 defense and 80 morale....they are meant to take out tier 1 units as they are meant to be highly equipped, but up against the high end units of other factions these still aren't good enough. If you don't think it's fair, don't use them, no need to come and complain about someones work (which is unpaid and highly unappreciated by the community with comments toned the way you have put) is there?
Fuzzyballs01 ꦙ 11 Aug, 2016 @ 3:33pm
I know mod authors like to make their own units stronger than vanilla so they can play with their own toys, but this is ridiculous
these guys are not only a bitch to kill, they refuse to rout until they're down to 10 men
I have to kill 290 legionairies before the unit routs

how is that fair? and I'm betting their recruitment cost is low too because the Eastern Roman Empire spams like 10 per army and boy battles have never lasted this long
Wolf_63 25 Mar, 2016 @ 10:45pm
I was just thinking "hey Ive gotten Romes economy back on its feet. Its to bad i cant provide better equipment for my troops like the legions of old." found this mod within 30 seconds. Thanks for making this.
Bladeuk  [author] 15 Jan, 2016 @ 5:01am
@metallica yes you can
metallica 13 Jan, 2016 @ 8:15pm
i can play it on roman expedition
Gewürzgurkenpriester 13 Dec, 2015 @ 8:02am
can you add this unit to theme Sicily in age of charlemagne
Bladeuk  [author] 20 Nov, 2015 @ 12:24pm
@PoissonFosse, yep it does work, you probably have a conflicting mod (unlikely) or steam hasn't downloaded it correctly, or the mod isn't active in your launcher, it could be one of a thousand things
PoissonFosse 20 Nov, 2015 @ 12:21pm
Bladeuk are you sure that the mod is working for the dlc the last roman? because i can't recruit them when i played the roman expedition.
Captain Stitch 27 Oct, 2015 @ 7:28am
thanks :))
Bladeuk  [author] 27 Oct, 2015 @ 7:26am
@Burning Fist it is save game compatible
Captain Stitch 27 Oct, 2015 @ 7:25am
is tht savegame secure?
Captain Stitch 27 Oct, 2015 @ 7:25am
DAMN I WAS LOOKING FOR THISSSS thanks :****
Bladeuk  [author] 21 Sep, 2015 @ 11:12am
@Wirmon775 depends how you use them, if they are fighting barbarian infantry the Legionaries should win as they hold formation better, as this gives them a good defence boost, matched with their decent morale then they hold the line well, as Roman infantry did. If they fight tier 3 armour piercing units or get flanked and attacked in the rear then they can still lose
Delamain's 20 Sep, 2015 @ 8:31pm
is it just me or are these guys overpowerd becuse when i was facing an army of 3 thousand and i had only 2 Thousand i still beated the crap out of them and after the battle i was like i shouldt have won that battle but somehow i did
Bladeuk  [author] 16 Sep, 2015 @ 10:52am

@leviulysses they adopted the "northern tactics" because they were cheaper
Darth Tap 25 Aug, 2015 @ 5:45pm
cool thanks
Bladeuk  [author] 25 Aug, 2015 @ 4:45pm
@B1ackheart - yes
Darth Tap 25 Aug, 2015 @ 2:28pm
can you use these in the last roman dlc
Bladeuk  [author] 24 Aug, 2015 @ 12:21pm
@leviulysses, I know they didn't but as I've already said they are not the original cohorts. I'm not changing a mod over 2800 people have downloaded because one person wants a gladius
leviulysses 24 Aug, 2015 @ 6:34am
@Bladeuk They didn't use Regular or long swords bc there isn't enough room to fight in tight formation while using the Scutum. They Tire people out with their shields and preserve their own stamina bc of the Gladius. (They wanted it short(like me)) I know Europe at this time gradually used bigger and bigger swords but i really dnt care, i just want the original Cohorts. Why Rome adopted the northerners losing tactics is beyond me.
Bladeuk  [author] 23 Aug, 2015 @ 7:23am
@leviulysses, they use a sword, not a gladius, they are not the original legionaries, more what would be if the lorica segmentata was used in the 5th Century.
leviulysses 15 Aug, 2015 @ 8:53am
@Bladeuk Please make the Gladius shorter!!
Bladeuk  [author] 29 Jul, 2015 @ 11:47am
@CenturionXIV, it's prob not your pc, and thanks for the info, but what specific resolution (i.e 1920x1080) as it could be something to do with the dds image displaying at a higher resolution like 4k.
Stoppel2000 26 Jul, 2015 @ 4:25am
@Bladeuk,
Max quillity on everything... pc does runs a little slower when everything is that high...
My Pc might be the problem but I will buy a new one anyway.
