The problem here is probably in the amount of textures you've got (seriously, your shipset is bigger than the whole game - as is dolynick's mod!) and the graphics settings jdblue is using.
Here is what I will do. I will make another mod with low resolution, non definition graphics. That should accomadate your computer better, so that it does not crash. I will work on it tonight, should be available tomorrow. I will keep this mod so that those who do have the computer power to run HR/HD graphics can enjoy the full potential of the models presented.
wolfenray73: I just noticed a "Duplicate material: Valkyrie" report while debugging ABEM. One of us needs to rename the 'Valkyrie' material to something else so that our shipsets can be used together.
I was hoping you could do it on your end? If I fixed my shipset, I'd have to release a patch to ModDB and make a GitHub commit in addition to making the actual fix and pushing it to the Workshop.
I am going to download the results tonight. Also, adding planet names to the mod as well, and making it a seperate mod if people wish.
Anyway, I just downloaded this, and... yikes. This isn't 'late game', this is practically 'immediately'!
It certainly shows that you've been taking a few hints from my shipsets - specifically the Ship/SShip notation. :P
But before I go on and write ANOTHER four comments, I'll take this into Discussions.
The thing is, in order to guarantee multiplayer compatibility, anyone making those changes would have to make the changes EXACTLY the way the others did it, or havoc will ensue. (Worst-case scenario, they crash each other's games.) This means they either have to reupload the modified version to the Workshop or figure out some more private method of sharing their changes. Keeping up with your changes could also be a bit of a pain in the neck.
4: I think that's pretty standard around here. Exa's Wars has some designs of its own, but aside from that, I think only Gwyvern is trying to figure out the system right now. Doesn't sound like he's having much luck, as we can't see any results out of that yet. :/
Mind you, I may have inadvertently set that standard by virtue of being the author (more like 'porter', but whatever) of almost every shipset on the Workshop. xD
3: Unfortunately, 'realism' does not equate to 'balance' here. What you did makes your shipset significantly inferior in the late game (how 'late' it is depends on the exact limits you used).
It's also not quite as easy to rework as you might think. True, the files are easy enough (relatively speaking - it's stashed away in SteamApps/workshop/282590/content/AddonID, whatever AddonID is in this case, while you know exactly where they are from the outset) to find, and the modifications are minor at best.
