i really like the concept of this mod a lot. One thing my 2 cents about it to have is, longer times of whatever the ambient effect is and maybe less in between.

I love this gamemode, but I do have to echo M0131U5's statement about the popcap. As for the incentive, I'd certainly be willing to donate about $20 or so to see an update. It's not much, but I'm hoping it's one step forward.

@M0131U5 I'm afraid that updates for this game mode are unlikely! It was a fun proof of concept for us, but we'd need some more incentive to go back to made edits and updates.

Can this gamemode have options of increased popcap (atleast more than 150?) so that it can be more compatible with fast paced/combat tuning mods?

I agree, after so much blizzard advertisements I was expecting something more. Have you ever played the original with stormy weather? It is the most beautiful atmosphere I have ever seen in a game. PE soldiers make some lame jokes though. Ahh the original unit dialogues... Germans were not calling Allied anti tank guns "panzershrecks..." Sorry nostalgia struck me.

I see. It was something I had in mind, and your mod sparked that. Imagine something like your mod, but with weather as a factor. Depending on the map setting and overall weather, random effects would occur. Like fog falls, units get their sight ranges reduced dramatically. Heavy wind blows, all artillery and mortar strikes get increased scatter radius.

@ViperCanel, I'm afraid that weather effects are very limited in the current version of COH2. Relic never fixed the worldbuilder's issues with saving atmosphere settings, so we're pretty much limited to the versions that they use!

Several changes have been made, and all British units are not affected by the War Drive!

I've been playing with this game-mode for a while now, and I theres one small thing that could improve it.
So far it doesn't seem to be affecting gameplay for me that much, and something I'd suggest is making the ambient effects more drastics and last longer. Another thing is, maybe the Radio's Down effect could do the same thing as the OKW's Radio Silence, except apply to ALL troops on the minimap, as well as disable alerts (particularly voice alerts). This would affect gameplay much more than reduced capture time.
Other than that, this is a really awesome gamemode.

This would be a fairly awesome core gameplay mechanic for a new campaign-theatreofwar hybrid, I could easily imagine something like CoH1s Europe In Ruins mod to have this. I wish Relic would release more modding tools.

@Otto Carius 150 +, I'm afraid that would need a specific mod to do so. However, if you use an infantry only mod, this will work as the gamemode.

@giwemi, Mods and maps only work in skirmishes and multiplayer. The original campaign and Ardennes Assault are not related to this game mode.

@HelpingHans, Nice of you to drop by! The short answer is yes. This adds silly amounts of RNG, but because every team is exposed to the effects at the same time, it's about as balanced as it can be. However, it is definitely for casual play only, as I'm sure you can imagine.

@[TAW]†TugaElite†, I will try to throw together a playthrough when I get the time, but if you are able to do so yourself, please feel free! The more exposure, the better. I can't see War Drive ever getting a serious following, but hopefully it fills a void for those who favour RP and realism.

didnt soffer from any RNG that i'm already used to ^^ but my amoo income went so bad vs vipkus
after losing some units ^^ that effect of 1 unit kill its - 1 ammo aha it's pretty cool some effects

Monolithic Bacon i will like to invite for a stream if you are up to it im trying you mode and i like the
effects makes the battle more risky and "real" having you troops suffering from low morale
and other effects make the game more realistic and maybe we will see these type of effects on coh3

i truly believe that you guys should do a small presentation of the mode and is effects and do a walk threw to the game wen its playing !!

or if any one wants to do some 1v1 or 2v2 just add me i will love to have a blast and stream the mode !!

@Replica, it affects all player in the exact same way, including the AI. This is why we've been limited to changing resources and spawn times, because they are the same for all teams. However, Hard and Expert AI will still get the same cheeky advantages that they've always had.

Effects appear as an icon just above the minimap, which you can move the mouse over to give you information on them. Look out for them as the game plays out. Also, the shorter your game, the less you will see.

@Polomino, if you don't see a timer in the top-left corner, you've not selected the mod. It will be pretty obvious when it's activated.

I'm glad you enjoyed it! And yup, it's a Victory Condition, so that you can continue to play tuning packs with it still activated.

I just tried it, and it was pretty cool ! I like the randomness which may force you to change your plans. Thank you for your work ! :)

By the way, find the mod in "Victory conditions" and not "Setting pack" ( or something like that, I don't play english version ). I just thought that it wasn't working for me neither, but it was just hidden :P

Ensure you go onto the Workshop tab in-game and refresh your list to update all subscriptions! If you subscribe in-game, it may not work straight away.
