I used that properly, it's just that the skybox brush itself is stretched down as well as you mentioned. It doesn't really have an impact on anything. If you meant that the skybox texture itself is streched down (warped in some way), then that is not the issue of the map (see the screenshots, where the skybox is displayed properly).

Probably because I was a bit lazy with properly aligning the skybox with the map and just made a box to (mostly) encapsulate the map with :D

It does work, but you need to aim precisely when pushing the button since the actual trigger is rather small.

Yes, that is a scripted sequence, but the figure is supposed to be the G-Man.

If you see missing textures, try to look at your addons or launch the through console. All the models in this map are default from HL2, so there shouldn't be any missing textures.

There might be an issue with one of your addons conflicting, as no one else reported this problem. You might also try to launch the map via console, if that helps.

Looks good, but there's an issue. As soon as you launch the map the game freezes and you're forced to restart your PC. So, I wouldn't install until this problem is fixed

this map has inspired me to make a couple maps in the past even if not directly related. it just inspired my feel for what atmosphere i like. such as my orangesite map. gm_mist. gm_storealley. even though they are really simple so thank you for that

I initially watched their tutorials and got the hang of the basics but the more "advanced" stuff I had better learning from examples since I already knew they would work

That's true, there's no "direct" way to access the mines. When making this map, I was trying to inspire from real mines, which have basically only elevators and ladders.
