I did put a lot of time (about 6-8 days and countless hours each day) into this map trying to make it good. A lot of thought and a lot of hours.It was my first map and I did what I could. I do plan on updating it and I will look into what you said. Thanks for the comments, though!
That being said, what exactly are you referring to?As for beaches, to my knowledge most beaches but aren't they really just thin, mostly rocky/grassy strips along the coast? Nothing really "beach" like about them, to me. With notable exception of Alki Beach, but that's out of the buildable range even with 25 tiles
SR I left out mostly because I want to leave creativity when building. I focused on the Interstates instead. I'm aware of the rail (my college thesis was about this actually) but for map sake and again, giving a bit of freedom, I tried to throw it through as many tiles as I could. I was thinking more for game playing (without the unlimited cash and stuff). So, for example having a West Seattle Bridge or random rail on Harbor Island and having someone never expand there, might look a bit silly, yeah? That was a typo (meant King County Int'l)
Coastlines are what one sees when using admin boundaries for water instead of actual topo... Please fix public beaches at least.
Re: "tidiously [sic] accurate rail, air, train, and road" Where's W Seattle bridge? SR 99 / viaduct, a major feature (eyesore, imho) of our downtown waterfront? SR 520 bridge? Why is I-90 at 2 heights, it's pontoon bridge in reality? Downtown could easily be fixed with freeway ramps. Freight rail is separate from our light rail, which runs from Westlake Station to SEA-TAC. Seattle became a major metropolitan centre because the RR ended at its port. Present-day rail does go up to Balmer Yard and North along the coast. Your "heavy flightlines" are over SODO, miles from SEA-TAC.
When I have time, I'll try doing this right. If you put "(Very Accurate)" on here, please give attention to the integrity of your map.
Cheers =]
@Roberto: No idea why :/ I looked over my files and all of the said Seattle. I would suggest retry subscribing to it. If that doesn't work, I'll look into it further!
I love you.
Although, in your description you say its "seattle and sourounding Puget Sound region". No, its just seattle. In fact, Seattle is actually more then what is shown on the map. Like, Northgate is part of Seattle and thats farther north then this map shows.
But still. this is AWESOME, I love it!
Nice Job.
@Mr. Krabs: You're 100% right, the Lake Union/Union Bay/Lake Washington area is a little different. It's mostly a Water and Sea Level issue. I've noticed game has a few issues with Sea Level and higher terrian maps). To get water flow outward, and to make space for a ship line to Lake Washington, I had to sacrifice a bit of accuracy. I did forget 520! I'll look to add it soon! Thanks for pointing that out.
