Can i use this Mod the whole time to get more FPS. Why i sould not hide the UI all the time?
nextopia 28 Mar, 2016 @ 3:40am
Is there an alternative to this mod? I really liked the functionality of it, but unlike the vanilla free camera it messes with certain props, like ground decals. The thing is, the vanilla free cam doesn't seem to work with mods like FPS camera.

@Gfurst I know I am late with this answer but it's a good question that others might like to see answered.
I've noticed three differences between this mod "Hide UI" and the CS native hide UI (Free Camera Mode):
1.) "Hide UI" enables the * "First Person Camera" mod to hide the UI; the CS Free Camera Mode does not.
2.) "Hide UI" works with the ** "City Vitals Watch" mod (CVW); the CS Free Camera Mode bugs CVW causing it's stats bars to disappear everytime after you've used the CS Free Camera Mode.
3.) The camera in "Hide UI" doesn't "float" around quite as freely as the camera does in CS Free Camera Mode.

How this differs from the regular hide UI game natively has?

Hi, this should have an option to key map it aside from F11.... pls update thanks :D

I experienced the same bug as GordonDry. Plus I also found when I toggle the hotkey my grid and mousebrush disappear. And sometimes they don't completely disappear but the grid is way of from the ground (like 1M in CS measurements) at first i thought it was the First Camera Mod but after some more testing I think your mod is causing the problem.
I made a post on Reddit a while back with screenshots so you know what I mean: https://www.reddit.com/r/CitiesSkylines/comments/3g6pmn/zoning_grid_is_far_off_please_help/?ref=search_posts
Hopefully you can fix this because I love your mod, but this is driving me crazy :/

Still works perfectly under the latest 1.1.1b update patch :)

There is one significant bug - first I thought any other mod is the reason - many people always give Traffic++ the fault, like it's trendy or something...

The issue is, when I use F11 to toggle off the UI and move around an intersection, the lane arrows get crumpy or disappear.
This doesn't happen when I disable the UI with the vanilla button right-bottom, the camera icon.
Then I can move around like hell and the lane arrows are always okay.

All of my mods have been recompiled to work with 1.0.7c.
Dexter 6 Apr, 2015 @ 1:24am
Thanks for the quick reply!
nlight  [author] 6 Apr, 2015 @ 1:22am
@Dexter it's a weird interaction between DR and HideUI. I recommend against using HideUI with DR for now.
Dexter 6 Apr, 2015 @ 1:22am
Oh I wonder if that is because I am running the beta 1.0.7c patch.
Dexter 6 Apr, 2015 @ 1:21am
I find activating Hide UI before engaging the first-person camera results in the best transitions, but noted where I go into the various data views, transport lines and subways no longer align properly with the roads.

Is there any planned fix for this, or is this (the misalignedment) an artifact of my 150% dynamic resolution (ie: i'm not doing double resolution, but only a fraction of that)

Is the misalignment fixable? I can post screens if needed.

Thanks.

included this in the second Cities: Skylines Mod Review: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QdbFejuD7PI

Hope you can update this soon for compatibility with the latest game update (patch 1.0.7b). A lot of mods went broken after that patch was released.
Zervo⭐ 27 Mar, 2015 @ 10:08am
@drakedge
when you want to take picture with a 1st person view mod, you cannot use that build in camera view.
so this mod help to take 1st person screenshot with a hidden ui
Drakedge 26 Mar, 2015 @ 12:01pm
How is this different from hitting the camera button below the bulldozer? I am not hating on the mode, I am curious if it is different somehow, to the one built into the game.
KevinLancaster 19 Mar, 2015 @ 11:30am
Is it possible to make it come back when you access the escape menu?
Cahos Rahne Veloza 19 Mar, 2015 @ 5:55am
@holifeno: That button is for the game's "Free Cam" mode which isn't compatible with other mods such as the "First Person Camera" mod.
jztemple 17 Mar, 2015 @ 8:36pm
Great mod!

By the way, for the folks who are mentioning that there is already a button on the screen for this, yes this is true. However, having a key for this function means you don't have to move the mouse. This is important if you are trying to follow a vehicle by clicking the little teardrop symbol in it's info box. If you click the "follow" icon and then try to move the mouse to the "Hide The UI" symbol, it can "unlock" the following function. Having the hide UI function as a button avoids this.

I have several mods installed but I think this one is the problem. I cannot view the "Policy" screen when this mod is enabled. I get an "X" in the lower right, like the policy screen is slid off the bottom of the screen maybe.
Seloune 12 Mar, 2015 @ 3:09am
Very good idea :)
hino94 11 Mar, 2015 @ 6:12pm
There is a button for that already in the game. Right side in the corner.
Doomherre 11 Mar, 2015 @ 2:34pm
Good job with both mods! Thumbs up! (now go make a GTA mod) ;)
Rojoss 11 Mar, 2015 @ 1:55pm
Nevermind just saw your first person camera. Great job.
Rojoss 11 Mar, 2015 @ 1:52pm
There is a button in game that does this already :p
