Stupid pointless 1000 character limit, this is what happens.

So you got your random things randomly bumping around, but they all have merge blocks. That means your stuff will auto merge in random ways. Now somewhere in the mess is a grinder or two, so the chamber won't get too crowded for more things to be projelded into there.

Keen talked about procedural ship building and said no, as I understand it. Well I have an idea for a workaround. It involves lots of low speed low torque rotors, some pistons, projectors and timer blocks. Here it is in a nutshell. You set the projectors and welders on piston with rotors, to make some simple little things that get released at low speed. Things are intended to randomly bump around, that's what this is all about. You have a weak and short range spherical grav gen in the middle of the room, a room that has six walls and a cut through the middle so the top and bottom half spin counter rotation. On the outside is a rig for spinning grave gens around the room in random fashion, trying to push things in to the center.

This thing is amazing, it will simplify Our lives so much. Hey I heard you say that you want to do a different method of ship building, right? I think I might have just the thing for you.

So the basic premise is a room for bumping some random stuff so it eventually merges, giving you random ships built from whatever you like. Maybe there is a ship you think is ugly (yellow bus) but you like just that one part that has a neat look in the top back. Put it on a projector, build it and find a dance partner, maybe the purdy legs on that drill ship. So you would need a big room, and a projelder rig that can do any size and shape. Hm yes, projelder, I quite like this word.

W4sted hey do you now how can i do something like logo? just like in video. How do you place small blocks on big blocks? or make something like this.
can you tell me? :sider:

literally rotated the whole roof, interesting approach, keeps the CoM quite close to the rotation point.. nice approach sir :)

Whats up. I added a bit to your desgin. made easier to release the ship. check it out.

nice job fixing the merge block problem. one thing just my opinion but i think all the stage,LCDs, buttions should be in one row instead of having 4 one one side,1 on second side,4 and third. i think it should all be one row (i didnt see/overlooked the fifth stage and the whole thing got messed up)

yea its the merge block i pasted the engine part on the mounting point and it worked fine but i didnt try it yet without pasting the engine so ill do that tommorow c:

I believe it should be fixed now, can someone confirm please?
w4stedspace  [author] 10 Mar, 2015 @ 5:51pm
So yeah, what's happening and I can try and fix it? I assume the first merge block isn't connecting?
w4stedspace  [author] 10 Mar, 2015 @ 5:51pm
In what way? It does work, otherwise recording those vids might have been difficult.. getting it working as a workshop blueprint where the ownership for you is drastically different to mine is another matter.

still isnt working :P
