I don't think there's any canon reason, I think it's just that the devs wanted her to look a little more youthful considering she's estimated to be in her mid-twenties.

Iirc, in Portal 1, she had a bit of greying hair. It doesn't really fit the concept of the game to have some older, more fragile protagonist pulling off these death-defying stunts

I only have this addon because the playermodel of chell is the only result of searching "Chell" in the search bar, even with portal 2 mounted. The difference is the playermodel version, the jumpsuit is a basic blue color as a default for recoloring your playermodel.

Anyway thanks this is a blessing.

Could you add a connection to the Portal Gun addon? Give the playermodel the animations for holding a portalgun from Portal and Portal 2.

Hiya! I dunno if anybody else has had this problem, but when I spawn Chell in, she doesn't tend to want to shoot anything, even after being given a weapon and then attacked by Combine and Zombies. I think this has something to do with the fact that she's technically a civillian npc with a unique model. Is there a way to fix this so that she can actually attack other npcs?

And unfortunately, fixing up the weight-painting isn't enough, as although the bone names might be the same, they're positioned different, and will not work right or at all with the HL2 animations.
The reason nobody's made P1 Chell before is because it's a bit of a hassle to re-rig her to the arry's Mod player skeleton, and then weight-paint and such. Her limbs would probably also need to be adjusted to fit the skeleton, unless you were using a custom scaled one.

A few years back, arry's Mod got an official Chell playermodel (from Portal 2) added to the game. I simply decompiled the existing playermodel, gave it female NPC animations, and changed its body texture to a hexed version that wasn't colourable, but instead locked to orange like her normal appearence. Then I compiled it and voilà, it worked. (I think I had to re-apply some of the eye textures, but I figured it out after messing around with the model in a modeling program).
It was essentially already made to be an NPC, as it uses the HL2 skeleton thanks to whoever re-rigged it before adding it to arry's Mod. (The original model from Portal 2 would need a complete re-rig.)

The reasons I'm asking this is because, I'm making a Chell model from the first game as a player model and the ways I'm doing is decompiling the the model I got from the VPK files in the game files, fixing up the weight painting, textures, and recompiling it, but for whatever reason I believe I'm cheating doing it that way, likey because I'm doing it differently from the way I learned>
