What the hell?
COF  [author] 1 Dec, 2017 @ 2:44pm
@nicovallejos What in the name of everything that is holy are you talking about? Failed to do on time? Philippines? Why should I care that you are displeased? You are not entitled to my or anyone else's work.
nicovallejos 29 Nov, 2017 @ 3:09am
We regret that the Light In The East group led by @regalmanemperor, @COF and others that you have failed to develop the Laos mod on time. Because of ASEAN 50 that our country, the Philippines, is the chair of ASEAN, you should have made the mod completely on time, and thus, you have failed to develop. Because of this desertion from Civ V, we are displeased for this.

See the Laotian civilization thread by @duynguyen4ever for more info:

I don't know about anyone else but no part of the UA is working for me.

@blkbutterfly74 You rude asshole just apologise and take down your copy
Urick 15 May, 2016 @ 8:57pm
i got the dlc and its running perfectly, i love this mods. thanks for making this mod.
blkbutterfly 7 May, 2016 @ 2:01pm
@COF I realise the effort that goes into making mods for civs so I understand why you're defensive.

Like @Steam Punk Elephant I'm of Sri Lankan origin and did in fact school there for a while and speak/read/write Sinhalese. FYI "Yodaya" is the word for soldier not Balata AFAIK. Yes, George Lucas may have ripped off an Indo-European language for Yoda, as with Dagoba, which is Sinhala for Buddhist temple :steamhappy:
COF  [author] 2 May, 2016 @ 12:58am
@Stream Punk Elephant
I am not certain whether it requires both, but you will need Gods and Kings at least, most likely the second one too.
This game has elephants in the form of an ivory resource and military units used by India and Siam, unfortunately we lack the skills to make one for Sri Lanka, so we went with a simple infantry.

I am glad you like the mod.
Urick 2 May, 2016 @ 12:51am
ps. is there elephants in this game? since sri lanka is home to elephants and the kingdoms of sri lanka used elephants. ps i appericate for making this mod, im happy that this mod exists, since i was born, lived and spent most of my life in sri lanka.
Urick 2 May, 2016 @ 12:48am
:(. do i need a specific expansion or just anyone
COF  [author] 2 May, 2016 @ 12:41am
@@Stream Punk Elephant
I am afraid you need the expansions, pretty much all of the mods nowadays require those
Urick 1 May, 2016 @ 7:44pm
i have he genghis khan dlc.
COF  [author] 1 May, 2016 @ 8:44am
@Stream Punk Elephant
Do you have any of the expansions?
Urick 1 May, 2016 @ 4:39am
the mod is saying that it is missing dependancies, i need help please, i really want to play as my home nation
COF  [author] 25 Apr, 2016 @ 12:08pm
@blkbutterfly74 What you are saying is not only impossible with the current tools we have, but also highly impractical.
And no, I would kindly ask you stop pressing this issue anymore, I have no intention of changing anything, even if you take another 3 months to respond.
blkbutterfly 25 Apr, 2016 @ 8:01am
@COF Instead of the building, a "tank" UI (say 2 tiles from a river or lake) which becomes a source of water. Adjacent unimproved resources may spawn ivory. Such unimproved tiles provide +1 tourism (after Flight?).

If you're not interested I've just started modding myself! Would you mind if I forked your civ? :steamhappy:
COF  [author] 13 Jan, 2016 @ 11:49am
@blkbutterfly74 I do not have Sukritact's programming skills, I am afraid. Besides that I am not sure if the game could support such a graphics change without having to reload the save. Additionally creating a lake tile adjacent to another one would create problems as the game turns big lakes into coastal tiles, which could mess up the whole point of the UA.

I see that you have different ideas for the UA and such than I do, that is fine. However despite that calling mine poorly researched is rude, especially considering the focus and the basis of our ideas is the same.
blkbutterfly 13 Jan, 2016 @ 10:53am
@COF Have you seen Sukritact's Calusa? Ancient Sri Lankans created a ton of fresh water tanks (that have become Elephant sancuaries). Parakramabahu famously created one so big it was nicknamed the "Parakrama Sea". How about a triat that creates a lake tile if settled on a river? Or adds a lake tile to an existing lake? :steamhappy:
COF  [author] 13 Jan, 2016 @ 10:25am
@blkbutterfly74 The UA covers the irrigation aspect by providing production from fresh water. The UB is literally a temple unique to Sri Lanka for god's sake. And the UU is a tank in human form, I am not sure what else you want.
blkbutterfly 13 Jan, 2016 @ 5:17am
Look at Sri Lanka's surprisingly ancient irrigation system for inspiration. Sigiriya (the fortress palace). It's considerable cultural legacy of (Buddhist) monuments and temples. Unlike India who practically rolled over when the British arrived, Sri Lanka resisted interlopers with surprising success for centuries, most famously warring with The Cholas 50+ times.
COF  [author] 12 Jan, 2016 @ 2:57pm
@blkbutterfly74 Yeah, we know. But we wanted something more recognizable overall, and I had several Sri Lankans tell me it was OK so it is fine imo. You can rename the city if it bothers you. But I wouldn't calla civ poorly reseached just due to a capital choice seeing how the choice of leader and the uniques are both adequate.
blkbutterfly 12 Jan, 2016 @ 2:35pm
A very poorly researched civ IMO. Colombo was the colonial capital and port city created by The British. Anuradhapura or Polonnaruwa should be the capital.
TheSaffronArmy 17 Nov, 2015 @ 11:50am
I just discovered these civilizations. Can't wait to try them.

Are you planning to create a Rajput civilization in the future?
Sheepy 1 Oct, 2015 @ 12:52pm
im having problems with this. i have the mod installed and i have enabled it, but it will not actually let me play this civilization, for its not even on the civ screen (when you choose your civ when setting up the game).:steamsad:
Mojave Neon 30 Aug, 2015 @ 3:41am
Is the vatadage supposed to be super expensive? It costs 75 production, which is nearly double the 40 production of the generic shrine. For such an early game building, that is a gigantic obstacle to overcome.
COF  [author] 29 Jun, 2015 @ 7:10am
@alpha2117
Thanks for telling me that, I will fix it asap. In the meantime you can try the steamworkshopdownloader.
alpha2117 29 Jun, 2015 @ 6:40am
The Direct Download dropbox doesn't work, coing up with 404

Nope, only buildings.
Brendan 22 May, 2015 @ 2:27pm
Can someone help me? I want to make my own civilization.
Pensezforte 18 May, 2015 @ 1:18pm
Do faith producing wonders count towards the UA? Will building Stonehenge for example provide a 5% border growth bonus along with a food bonus?
ianandsue5 2 May, 2015 @ 11:35am
Are you intending to add the Tang and Han Dynasties as Mods to this List?
COF  [author] 14 Apr, 2015 @ 10:29am
@ianandsue5
Yeah, modding ain't that easy you know?
Regalman and I try to have quality art in the mod so it takes much longer for the mod to be released. Srivijaya won't be out, in a long time, for now at least. Expect Ainu, Yuan or Tunisia sooner.
InspiredX 12 Mar, 2015 @ 1:45pm
sri lanka was also dutch for a few years. mabey something to put in the historical info :)
COF  [author] 11 Mar, 2015 @ 11:05am
@Napounet If that's how much a WLTKD growth boost is, then yes.
Lofwyr 11 Mar, 2015 @ 10:56am
Great - thanks. So it means this is a 25% growth bonus.
COF  [author] 10 Mar, 2015 @ 9:54am
@Napounet It's a We Love the King Day, essentially, same effect. I am not sure what the percentage is exactly.
Lofwyr 10 Mar, 2015 @ 9:51am
So theoratically, pre-boost it could take 10 turns to gain another citizen and after the boost it would take only 9 turns? Can you give some more details on the boost % or data?
COF  [author] 10 Mar, 2015 @ 8:34am
@Napounet It means you need less food to gain another citizen, might not always be visible, especially early on.
Asafohene7 9 Mar, 2015 @ 5:21pm
can you give indias ethnic units to sri lanka?
Lofwyr 9 Mar, 2015 @ 4:07pm
How does the 5 turn growth work exactly? I finished a religion building but I had the same food per turn pre and after. No citizen growth either. No visible change.
COF  [author] 9 Mar, 2015 @ 6:57am
@Panic! Chihiro At The Disco Buy it
fitzgibble 9 Mar, 2015 @ 6:40am
Oh, well where do i findz it? xD
COF  [author] 9 Mar, 2015 @ 6:19am
@Panic! Chihiro At The Disco Bro, BNW is the second official expansion pack for this game made by Firaxis.
