the mod is amazing but I can't get it to work for multiplayer

what mod is needed
swethort 19 Nov, 2018 @ 1:15pm
I don't know if you still read comments here, but I think the locate corpse button might not work? I've tried using it a few times but it just hasn't worked.
KaristonsWrath 8 Oct, 2018 @ 10:45pm
Fair enough but great work on the mod none the less
Vie S  [author] 6 Oct, 2018 @ 8:04am
I don't have any intentions of revisiting Civ 5 at all. Besides, even if I did, I took up a position of only making Civs from characters who actually led countries. There's no other character in Jojo who meets that criteria, other than if I really stretched to make a "Pillar Man Empire" led by Kars, but that would be incredibly speculative.
KaristonsWrath 4 Oct, 2018 @ 11:06pm
do you intend on making more jojo civs? (IE Pucchi, Lisa-Lisa, Johnathan etc)
LLAMA GODDESS 14 Sep, 2018 @ 8:40am
is there a way to get this working in multiplayer?
Vie S  [author] 4 Jul, 2018 @ 11:35am
Thanks for the kind words. I'm glad that people were able to enjoy my mods for so long, even after I stopped updating/supporting them and I lost interest in the game.

Case in point...

@gintamaben Apologies for forgetting to respond.

The issue is apparently with how Enlightenment Era is added to the game -- or, perhaps more accurately, how the game handles any Era being added to the list.

Quick and dirty fix:
https://pastebin.com/LREkbjw1

Replace everything between lines 109 and 146 with this in FunnyValentineTraitScript.lua. I don't know how strong the mounted unit of the Enlightenment Era is, so you might need to edit line 113 with a better number for the SBR's combat strength.
dhammer_911 2 Jul, 2018 @ 1:25pm
Vicevirtuoso - I have no idea if you're still checking these boards, but I wanted to say thank you for all your fantastic mods. They are, imo, among the best - if not the very best - Civ V mods on the workshop. Valentine, in particular, is just an amazing civ - which is why I'm posting here. Anyway, it's sad to read your farewell, like seeing a great athlete retire. I get it - I've about juiced every bit I can from this game myself. But as far as games go, this one is special, and in no small part due to AAA modders like yourself. I wish you the best moving forward!
gintamaben 9 Jun, 2018 @ 11:22am
Did you how to fixed runtime error?
gintamaben 7 Jun, 2018 @ 7:24pm
When i turn off enlightenment era it's have [90986.506] FunnyValentineTraitScript:
[90986.397] FunnyValentineTraitScript: ERA_ANCIENT
[90986.506] FunnyValentineTraitScript: ERA_CLASSICAL
[90986.600] FunnyValentineTraitScript: ERA_MEDIEVAL
[90986.693] FunnyValentineTraitScript: ERA_RENAISSANCE
[90986.787] FunnyValentineTraitScript: ERA_INDUSTRIAL
[90986.896] FunnyValentineTraitScript: ERA_MODERN
[90987.005] FunnyValentineTraitScript: ERA_POSTMODERN
[90987.115] FunnyValentineTraitScript: ERA_FUTURE
and didn't get error
gintamaben 7 Jun, 2018 @ 6:59pm
It's mostly the same but "[89736.143] FunnyValentineTraitScript: ERA_ANCIENT" just appear
Vie S  [author] 7 Jun, 2018 @ 5:49pm
From what I can guess based on what the code in that section is doing, the Enlightenment Era is missing a Type in its entry in the Eras table. That, or a technology (one used as a unit prerequisite) added by the mod does not have a corresponding Era.

Add this line into the Lua file just after the one reading "for era in GameInfo.Eras() do":

print(era.Type)

Then try starting up a game with Valentine and check what Lua.log says.
gintamaben 7 Jun, 2018 @ 3:39pm
Okay, i just check lua.log it get "[77612.088] Runtime Error: C:\Users\Administrator\Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\MODS\Steel Ball Run - United States of Valentine (v 2)\Lua/FunnyValentineTraitScript.lua:117: attempt to index a nil value" and in lua 117 it's have something to do with an era, can you advise me how to fix it, i'mjust noob at lua.
gintamaben 7 Jun, 2018 @ 2:54pm
Does this mod incompatible with enlightenment era cause d4c and locate corpse part didn't working
Vie S  [author] 14 Feb, 2018 @ 1:03pm
Unfortunately I am completely done with Civ V (playing or modding it), and I doubt I'll bother with VI again until all the DLC is released a few years down the line.

Appreciate everyone who has played and enjoyed my mods all this time, though.
stealth 14 Feb, 2018 @ 9:16am
you realy should make more like these, it's amazing
🪻 6 Oct, 2017 @ 12:22am
This is a really unique and clever Civ, I like it! It's rare to see a Civ that does so much more than just extra resources of various types.

This mod isn't in the mods list in Civ V, and since the alternate download link is broken, is there any other way to get this mod?
george freud 19 Nov, 2016 @ 1:38pm
Having a problem with the mod, I found a corpse part and it gave me a notification for it too, but when I click on it or go to ''Locate Corpse Part'' on the scroll menu it won't show me where it is on the map.
twitch.tv/krelda 25 Oct, 2016 @ 2:09am
So I have this issue that causes the unit command options to completely disappear (the bar that says auto, alert, more options, etc.) whenever a unit passes over a spot that the game suggests to build something on. This happens with builders and SBR's. Is this a common thing?
Kirk of Hazard 20 Aug, 2016 @ 6:43pm
could we get a new alt download link, the mediafire one is dead
JesterAO 13 Jun, 2016 @ 2:25pm

I found the corpse part and it became an artifact in my city but it didn't let me found a religion?
electonfiremage 3 Apr, 2016 @ 7:06pm
Looks like alternative download link is broken
spreading information 2 Mar, 2016 @ 1:29am
Yeah, I learned the hard way that the mod wasn't broken and that I was just unclear as to how Corpse Parts actually spawn. They're a bit of a chore to discover.
zaku_zelo 2 Mar, 2016 @ 1:17am
Is this mod still being worked on? Finding corpse parts is still absurdly difficult. Just played a game. I go for tons of SBRs ASAP and have over half a dozen of them running around killing things and don't find a single part until turn 95. 95! And of course it spawns on the other side of the map. I love this civ, so I play it a lot, all of the devoted to pumping out SBRs and picking fights, and still the lion's share of them I've given up on because I just can't find any corpse parts. Something must be done!
Vie S  [author] 27 Feb, 2016 @ 1:02pm
@Keygentlemen
If Locate Corpse Part doesn't do anything, it may be somewhere on the map which is outside of where you can currently scroll to, so try exploring more of the map and then click it again.

If you can see the whole map and this still happens, post your save.
spreading information 26 Feb, 2016 @ 6:31pm
Well, I did a little testing with just this mod and IGE. Upon finding a corpse part, I was told to use the Locate Corpse Part button to find it again, but it didn't seem to do anything. Furthermore, while this may just be me being clueless, I couldn't figure out how to actually obtain it (I did try moving my Steel Ball Runner all around the immediate area; am I supposed to take them back to a city?). A comment of yours below seems to imply they're actual artifacts, but nothing ingame seemed to tell me that was the case. It's worth mantioning I had an open slot for an artifact, as well.
spreading information 26 Feb, 2016 @ 4:25pm
I would assume there's a mod conflict, then; I've not once seen such a button.
Vie S  [author] 26 Feb, 2016 @ 1:53pm
@Yoshikage Kira
You probably need to disable any sort of script blockers on the page for it to work.

@Keygentlemen
There's probably a mod conflict (only just recently realized this mod is using an old version of a utility which can cause other mods to break). Depends on if the "Locate Corpse Part" button shows up at all; if it's not there, then you will certainly never have any corpse parts drop.
spreading information 25 Feb, 2016 @ 5:26pm
I never seem to be able to find Corpse Parts. Is the chance just really, really low, or is it something else? Can I not get them from barbarians, or could there be a conflicting mod, for instance?
bazingo! 19 Feb, 2016 @ 5:41pm
How do I use this site? The download button seems not to be working.
Vie S  [author] 19 Feb, 2016 @ 10:51am
@Yoshikage Kira
Use the website Steam Workshop Downloader. My hosting accounts kept getting shut down so I gave up on it.
bazingo! 18 Feb, 2016 @ 4:23pm
Can you fix the alternate download link, pls? I need my load of Valentine and my Steam version isn't working.
Vie S  [author] 4 Jan, 2016 @ 10:25pm
@Dykemistress11
"take out the corpse part"
You mean take out the most unique and intensively coded part of the Civ? No, thanks. I probably will put a cap on the strength increase from the second part, and will probably make them not count as artifacts which generate Tourism, but other than that, that system is staying put.

I haven't gotten enough playtesting data or post-game reports from other users to determine if D4C's timer needs to be increased or decreased.
mmm grayons 4 Jan, 2016 @ 4:19pm
This mod is honestly seriously overpowered, you need to make the delay for units a long and take out the corpse part to make it fair
TinoTrash 10 Dec, 2015 @ 4:04pm
I seem to be having the same problem as pyro and the steam workshop isn't downloading it. :steamsad:
Vie S  [author] 18 Oct, 2015 @ 8:37am
@Kyubee the Espurr
Mod requires features added in BNW, no can do.
Tefnut 18 Oct, 2015 @ 12:16am
Make a non DLC version for us poor people. :I
Vie S  [author] 8 Oct, 2015 @ 9:24pm
@zaku_zelo
Yes, only one corpse part location can be discovered at a time. D4C's chosen unit is totally random other than that it won't pick units which are already part of an alternate dimesional pair. You're just getting good luck.

@PyroTheDigger
My media fire account was shut down due to copyright claims. Use Steam Workshop Downloader instead; as long as that site works, I'm not going to bother hosting my mods elsewhere due to the hassle (except my soundtrack mods).
Ludenburger 8 Oct, 2015 @ 6:51pm
Mod doesn't seem to be able to download for me, and the Mediafire link for this and the Senator Armstrong Civilization seem to be missing, can you help me out plz? :steamsad:
zaku_zelo 8 Oct, 2015 @ 3:41pm
I would think the brand name alone would get attention.
That's assuming part's 4 and 5 don't get draaaaaawn oooooout like 3 was.

Played some more. Can you only have one corpse part discovered at a time? Can't find one and let it sit there until you get another art slot, but still try and find the next?
Does D4C have any sort of priority? Seems to favor units with more promotions and Runners.
Vie S  [author] 8 Oct, 2015 @ 2:06pm
@zaku_zelo
Well, I did mean out of my Civs specifically. Several of my wonder mods and such are still far less popular. But yeah, this Civ is second last in terms of subscribers, beating only CIA (and yet CIA has more ratings, views, and favorites, so...)

Probably because we haven't gotten anywhere near this point in the anime yet. So when part 7 airs, I imagine this Civ will get more popular. Well, popular as it can get considering we will very likely have Civ VI with 2 expansions by 2021.
zaku_zelo 8 Oct, 2015 @ 11:57am
Sereously? The only Jojo mod on the workship is less popular than...I dunno, the Danmachi wonder? That's terrible. And this is such a deligitful civ too.

I was thinking of a metter thing too. It would make it more consistent, but also more predictable, which is no good. Every fight near a Runner having a chance to find you a part is fun.
Perhaps just make them more likely to be found? Or at least the first part? The problem here is getting your foot in the religious door.
