I love all the changes other than the Zero. The Zero came on to the scene at the same time as other single wing fighters; it was directly competing in airshows with early Hawker Hurricanes and Spitfires. I would suggest instead giving the Zero an attacking bonus against ships, making it the preferred Japanese choice to deal with Navies. This would fit the historical use (and relatively appaling nature of Japanese bombers in the Pacific war) while also giving Japan a lethal & cheap carrier-based naval force.

Overalll this is a good mod
however i believe germany should have a rework as well as assyria and sweden
and the Zero replacement for triplane makes no sense at all, as the zero was produced in 1940s not 1910s
nothing 22 Nov, 2019 @ 3:22pm
I don't like to change the basics, but I think the change to Japan's Zero is very appropriate for historically accurate.

I'm trying to download this manually, but it's not allowing me. Could you help?

Why not germany?

The people complaining about the Iroquois:

You can remove any one of these changes by deleting the appropriately named file in the mod folder.

Please... Just think before commenting...
Evil Paragon 19 Jul, 2017 @ 4:42pm
Was going to get this, but then saw that the Iroquois were massively nerfed in your attempts to buff them. Like, you even made the Mohawk Warrior become spearman instead. Spearmen eventually turn into Helicopter Gunships which can't capture cities whereas Mechanised Infantry can. I'm the type of person to not let my soldiers die, I can (even in multiplayer) get ancient era units to the end of the game. I main the Iroquois and in this they become trash.
Alex_202 18 Jun, 2017 @ 10:43am
why did you give the B-17 bombardment i like seige more

Some of "Improvements". Have more to do with Playing Civs incorrectly than them actually being bad... You actually made some weaker. Forests and rainforests do in fact act like bridges for iroquois even before you get the tech for bridges... Like the Fact that Long house is actually more than capable of out producing a workshop. If your smart if enough to realize to not chop forest down. You can produce wonders in 5 turns or less , very quickly. none of business tho.

Now iroquois on the mod are just a bad regular civ. With little speciality.
Some of the other civs got buffs which is good i guess. But you totally wrecked the biggest advantage of the iroqoius extreme levels of production from long house and forests.
LOW GRADE FUEL 16 Jul, 2016 @ 8:39pm
Why didn't you fix germany?
Spin 16 Jul, 2016 @ 5:43am
Not sure if it is just my game but Brazil dont get any production from jungle.
Lil' Fry 20 Apr, 2016 @ 1:32pm
GG easy game as Netherlands. Netherlands is probably the most OP civ in the game now.
Serendipity 1 Jan, 2016 @ 2:48pm
Isn't Carthage just another Byzantium less focused on gold then religion
Max 8 Sep, 2015 @ 3:59pm
I think Denmark could really use a buff.
To fit in with their viking theme I would recommend something like "+faith when a unit is killed in battle" or something like that.
Jek J 3 Sep, 2015 @ 4:55pm
does america retain its trait of land units get +1 sight?
Tonberry 26 Aug, 2015 @ 9:21pm
Could change it so that samurai are the same as now except avaiable at metal casting instead of steel (same as berserkers)
Also would keep the forrest +1 production bonus for the Iroquis long houses, that way there is some incentive to keep forrests unchopped.
Also carthage should retain access to triremes (rather than lose them to quinquiremes) that way they can still use them to capture island or coastal cities

I actually love the iroquois bonus! No-maintenance roads made of those annoying forests in friendly territory? Hell yeah! I'd like something else, sure. Something awesome. But when I spawn in a world of mainly forest? Dom victory approaches quickly.
IzzoTheBlue 22 Jul, 2015 @ 1:01pm
Hey, very nice mod. I love the changes, I think it's quite nicely balanced overall.

I'm having an issue with the polders when I play Netherlands. Some flat grassland tiles near river won't allow a polder, some will. Oddly enough, sometimes I start a polder and halfway through the construction the worker stops building the polder and the option to continue it isn't there. Have you encountered this at all?

Is there a maximum amount of tiles that a city can have improved into polders?
framedarchitecture  [author] 29 May, 2015 @ 2:26pm
@MustasheU It's a minority position, but feel free to buff them as you like. For my part, I never mind rolling Huns.
Turtle Lover 29 May, 2015 @ 9:08am
@framedarchitecture yes i do, i also find them to be inferior to the Mongolians.
framedarchitecture  [author] 29 May, 2015 @ 8:47am
@MustasheU You find the Huns to be a weak civ?
Turtle Lover 29 May, 2015 @ 7:23am
he has the Iroquois and Japan but he doesn't have the Huns. *sarcastically clapping*
anastasia 5 May, 2015 @ 5:45pm
I like a couple things but I disagree with a couple things-
First, Japan's bonus is HUGELY useful, unless you're super outnumbered, and even then.
America is super underpowered, it's amazing. Thank you for that :P
Polders were really useful, but the netherlands UA was garbadge.
Iroquis? Brazil? Yes please.
Carthrage was pretty good, the +10% gold just makes it a bit higher tier, and
france's EVERYTHING needed a buff, thanks for putting time and effort into the mod! <3
lumpy 15 Mar, 2015 @ 5:19am
I subscribed to this mod and have it checked and everything but my leader list does not reflect the changes that this mod is supposed to bring. Can anyone help?
framedarchitecture  [author] 22 Feb, 2015 @ 9:56pm
@Mr. Worldwide See my Unique Buildings mod for my change to Byzantium.
16 Feb, 2015 @ 12:09pm
it won't let me download the mod. Please help?
Ayane Ranma 15 Feb, 2015 @ 8:44am
I also think Denmark would need a buff too. yes the berserker is nice, but its default traits are just rarely of any use at all.
the dutch buff i think went a bit too strong. that will be many polders.
Gort 15 Feb, 2015 @ 3:16am
@RNJesus OK, but then there's not any point to having more than one horseman, and there's no point to having a UNIQUE horseman since any will do once you have the city on 0 HP. I'd far sooner have a unique ranged unit like a longbowman or cho-ko-nu.
Fireemblem123 15 Feb, 2015 @ 2:09am
@Gort that's the point of using melee horsemen for war, you use them to snipe cities without having to be within city bombardment range
joan 14 Feb, 2015 @ 11:36pm
I thought that polders could already be built on flood plains.
framedarchitecture  [author] 14 Feb, 2015 @ 8:47pm
I forgot to mention the huge downside to russia: the tundra start bias. Sometimes you get a terrible start that you can't move out of in the first two turns.
Gort 14 Feb, 2015 @ 4:29pm
Hmm, I don't rate cavalry, personally. Their strength isn't that high, they can't attack cities well (unless you knock 'em down to 0 HP with ranged units), there are commonly-available counters to them...

They just don't have enough upsides to make up for being expensive, requiring strategic resources, easily countered, and the usual melee problem of taking damage during their own attacks.
goody3shoes 14 Feb, 2015 @ 3:14pm
russia is great for the late game, gaining double uranium. it also is able to trade useless reasources with other civs that require them for money. and you have a never ending supply of those rare minerals. also the krepost is great, just another angkor watt, and the angkor what is one of my favourite wonders for a reason. also a cavalry replacement is always great, especially because of how late landships come.
framedarchitecture  [author] 14 Feb, 2015 @ 2:21pm
@*"=-_SauronofMorgoth_-="* Hi. I don't mind drawing Russia, but that's because I almost always play with strategic balance (advanced option), which guarantees you a pool of each strategic resource near your start position. This means that Russia will almost always have a great production start. I think the Cossack is a good unit (I use cavalry a lot in my games) but the Krepost is pretty weak, as it comes too late to make much a difference (i.e. you've already purchased the juicy tiles).
Provi 14 Feb, 2015 @ 1:48pm
What about Russia? I personally believe they are underpowered, or you could explain why you believe differently?
framedarchitecture  [author] 13 Feb, 2015 @ 9:51am
@Gort Yes the Chateau is bad no matter how you slice it because of its tile limitations.^^ My thinking is that you're more likely to replace a production tile rather than a food tile, so production is the better yield to add.

Don't get me started on Polyesia, whose bonuses are bad across the board. I didn't provide a fix here because they are DLC and because I usually restart when I roll them (even on island map!).
Gort 13 Feb, 2015 @ 7:05am
I always thought the ideal fix to the Chateau would be to give it +1 food, not +1 production. I would also give Polynesia's Moai Statues +1 food. Otherwise I feel like they're a waste of a tile.
Geminis Angel 12 Feb, 2015 @ 4:08pm
I would dissagree i ussualy upgrade pikemen to lancers i do understand that no one actually builds them tho but i trust your judgement
framedarchitecture  [author] 12 Feb, 2015 @ 4:21am
@Geminis Angel Sipahi will now be in the horseman/knight upgrade path. Lancers are junk units that you almost never use.
Geminis Angel 11 Feb, 2015 @ 10:54pm
Why did u change the sipahi to cavalry
framedarchitecture  [author] 11 Feb, 2015 @ 2:47pm
@][G][Dark as Sliver This mod won't conflict with my Traits or Buildings mods, but whichever mod is loaded last will institute its changes. So if you load this mod and you already have the other Brazil trait loaded, this one will overwrite it.
amelia 11 Feb, 2015 @ 1:54pm
I love the buffed Assyria.
][G][Dark as Sliver 11 Feb, 2015 @ 11:34am
Also I came as soon as I noticed, I assume the other mod you mentioned was the unique trait or something. That buffs Pedro as well, does that mean these mods conflict?
][G][Dark as Sliver 11 Feb, 2015 @ 11:27am
America is anti Gandi?
framedarchitecture  [author] 11 Feb, 2015 @ 10:58am
@murena2 I buff Byzantium, Denmark and India in a few of my other mods. You're right they are weaker civs, but not terrible. India's trait is really good once your cities grow past 6 pop and their Elephant (chariot archer) is superior early game. Dromons and Cataphracts are also very good units, I think. Denmark's Berserker comes early enough to make it pretty good.
murena2 11 Feb, 2015 @ 4:20am
nice but you should try buffing Byzantium, Denmark and india too, they are even worse then some of these civs
