@RF thanks for bringing this to my attention, it appears he tried to fix some of the issues with the campaign; he didn't ask for permission but he did link back to the original campaign and as it's for the benefit of the community I will leave it for now :)

Second map, the door for entering metal tanks room has a bug. if it closes while ure outside the room there is no option to re-open it.. leaving players,or potentially entire team stuck outside the room and unable to progress.
For now gets "unplayable" for me. Until fixed.

can I confirm if all players were inside the room where the EMP had to be picked up? There is a trigger to prevent it being grabbed if the whole group isn't inside the room.

Otherwise, can I confirm if you no-clipped to the room?

Regardless of what changes you do or do not make, thanks for taking the time to make the campaign; it is definitely the most immersive campaign i have ever played and I'm looking forward to sharing it with some of my other friends :steamhappy:

Thanks for the constructive criticism. I had added the the voltage signs in one of the new updates thinking that would deter players from jumping down, but as per the points you made sometimes it might be that you get charged off the ledge or a boomer explodes, so I agree with you that I should think about re-working it.

I'll have to check the clipping setup on those doors to the gas offices because it shouldn't be able to jam you and kill you, so it's a shame it did; I'm sorry about that.

Second, the train tracks. I get that they're electrified and deadly, but I would recommend just putting up an invisible wall there and not letting people step on them. Not only are the high voltage signs not really big enough to make it obvious. A boomer exploding can make you step backwards off the ledge. While thematic, it just really sucks because it's not really a big sticking point of the movie to kill someone for stepping on them like the laser hallway is.

Overall, I really enjoyed this one and will likely play it again, but I wanted to give you my honest feedback; thanks for creating this awesome content!

Hey Texeon; we just played this recently and I have a few things I wanted to say about the campaign.
Overall I absolutely loved it. I am a resident evil fan and I enjoyed how true to form so many of the locations were. The atmosphere was beautiful and I can't wait to share this with one of my other friends who really enjoys the franchise. I did not enter the laser hallway and my friends did. I don't know why, but we all know how that went.
That said, I do think there are some issues that I wanted to point out. First, we had a lot of deaths that felt really bad. The first was in the room with the gas doors (from the opening scenes of the movie. The doors closed on me as we were leaving and killed me outright. I'm don't believe that was intentional, but as I'm not familiar with making maps it does seem like something that is avoidable, but I don't know for sure.

@Clandestine Jones: hey, can I confirm if this is a local server or online dedicated, and if it is a local server are you guys using cheats such as noclipping to fly around? That is the only reason I can think why the triggers would fail out of order

Ugh, the last two times I played this I have been having issues with events triggering. First time was on the second stage (Descent) in the large area where your door bypass fails spawning a horde + tank. Second time was right at the beginning of stage 4 (Escape) when the first door bypass failed to do anything but keep repeating to gather the party even after we were all hugging it. Even tried a party kill and reset to the safe room on that last one and got a different event (prying open the elevator doors) but that ALSO failed. Very frustrating, this was one of my favorite custom campaigns. I only have weapon and PC appearance mods enabled so I don't think it's them but I'll try one more time with all mods disabled period just to be sure.

@HardC0re: that's weird, the only reason I would say that it's not showing up is that you don't have all the parts of the campaign. If you do then I actually don't know what's wrong.

Can you go into the developer console and see if it offers the maps to play, e.g. map the_hive_m1?

@HardC0re: hmm, ok. Can you please ensure that when you go to select the campaign you're clicking on the 'addon campaigns' button at the end of the campaign selection list? It should show campaigns installed. If not then there is a chance you're not subscribed to all 6 parts of this campaign to make it work.

@Disinterred: To troubleshoot this, I would recommend you either:

1.disable the licker model
2.unsubscribe from it in steam workshop
3.do a 'verify integrity of game cache' for l4d2 (you can find guides on google)
or
4.use the developer console to disable mod checking using the command 'sv_consistency 0' (there are guides to use the developer console on the internet)

Everytime i start it up it wants a hunter model but i have the licker so i dont know whats wrong

The .VPK files enforce certain on dedicated servers. It changes all infected models to L4D1 variants no matter what map it is. To bad , can't keep this on the server because off it.

@Suwako: The bot behaviour shouldn't be affected by campaign but I'd hazard to say it's got to do with the nav mesh. If you mean they run away and disappear to some area below the floor that's because the safe room is right below you and I guess they're ignoring the fact the door is closed and warping forward. Otherwise I'm not too sure

is there a conflict with the improved bots or is this purely a multiplayer only mod the bots seem to just run away when entering the emp chamber and i cannot interact with the emp device

By the way, I hate to be a bother, but can you also put in an option to turn off the audio quotes from the movie and just leave the movie soundtrack? I think that the soundtrack fits this map very well and compensates the action, but the movie quotes kinda break the immersion.

Not to mention it reminds me that the adaptations exist in the first place.

@SirAttlich: I honestly reckon if they didn't call the movies 'resident evil' and didn't relate it to one of the best game series of all time then the movie wouldn't have got so much flack (and it's justifiable flack :D )

This map just reminded me just how bad were the soulless movie adaptations of the Resident Evil games.

Don't get me wrong, this map is awesome, the scripted sequences are fun and the randomized pathfinding just adds to the re-playability to the map.

Honestly, this simply cemented the fact that the location, the setting, the music and the scripted scenes were completely wasted on a blatant cash grab that had stereotypical, unlikable characters, a protagonist that served as nothing more than the realization of the director's fetishes by making his waifu top-tier Mary Sue material and actors who either looked like they didn't want to be there or they had no idea what to do.
