Because nordic is just the name the game uses for blond people with light colored eyes. There are quite a lot blond people in Portugal.

why nordic ethnicity? potugal and scandanavia are pretty far apart.

I've found a way of forcing common names and surnames to show up more often. I'll be updating soon.

Yes, i was looking at the Canadian names and the lack of francophone names is weird. It would be really simple to just merge it with the French names. If that's what you were thinking of, I may get around to do it one day.

American as in USA? I was just looking at their name files and it's probably the nation with most variety of the vanilla version. Any specific reason you'd want it expanded?

Next version i shall solve the siesta bug and add it to my new version of Spanish soldiers, which is where it belongs. I will also be creating a new version of Swedish soldiers, where they randomly drop their guns and go to the sauna to have sexy times with the aliens.

Something's wrong with my portugese soldiers. Often during operations they take siestas or just plain ignore orders and play football. I give it 10/10 for accuracy but the added difficulty is just too much for me.

Now I just need a portuguese translation! Thanks.

If you can't wait to see it in action and want to increase the probability of the portuguese soldiers showing up, this is what you should do:
- Go to the mod files (In Windows 8 should be C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Xenonauts\assets\mods\SteelGonads Tuganames) , open soldiernames.xml and soldiernamesfemale.xml and edit the "chance" attribute of the "Nation" node, at the top of the file. It's currently 2, but if you change it to 10 it should give the same probability as Soviet Union for example.
