@Conky Yes, you are correct. The new grounds version is a digital version of The Aliens Board Game from 1989. They're one in the same, they just have different looks.

TTS is a great simulator. You're going to like it a lot if you're a board/card gamer.

I got TTS just to get this and its expansion. I just played a round in the reactor with my nephew, great fun. I haven't played this in years. Thank you so much for making this available. :-)

Oh yes, it's great. It adds a lot of good stuff to the base game, The new map is the Alien's Layer to hunt out the Queen and save your Marines Mates. New weapon load outs and all that fun stuff.

@mongo.england, I kick myself for missing this game in the 90s; I found it like about 4 or 5 years ago, I became obsessed and still play it to this day lol. I also play the flash game.

Side Note: I put the expansion up too :)

@Kaijudo Yeah, I purchased my copy and the lead figures at the local comic shop I went to all the time in California when I lived out there.

@Geobaldi What I really want to do is find someone who can make 3D models and import the figures into the game, that would be bad ass!

@Phaota, I'm very jealous!... I kick myself everyday for not being aware of the Aliens Board game back then. I could have had years of fun with it. I had a friend who was in to comics and we'd always go to the comic stores. I'm pretty sure they had copies of the game, I just never knew it (No internet in those days lol). They're pretty expensive on ebay too. Think they're like 99 or 100 dollars for just the game with out the figures. I've been trying to remake a psychical version of the game with some Canadian Marines from Space Hulk and some other figures I have, but they're to big to fit the print out map I made. I need to find a way to make the print bigger.

@Phaota - I'd be happy to take that copy off your hands. Me, and my friends, would gladly play it a ton :)

@Kaijudo - I have no problems really with the tokens myself. I've never been able to see a physical copy in person to compare them. Feel free to make them bigger though if you feel it would make it more faithful to the orignal. Hopefully that link will bring more awareness to the game, as not many people know about it. I really would like a reprint, but if FFG got a hold of it, they would pump out expansions nonstop :)

@Kaijudo Now, I know you might be slightly jealous on this front (not sure what they are going for on eBay), but after the original game was released and the expansion pack in 1990, Leading Edges Games also put out two lead miniature sets in 1992, which I definitely had to have. They were just too cool not to miss. The first is the "ALIENS - Alien Queen Lead Miniature Boxed Set", which contains an unpainted 25mm figure of the Queen, 2 eggs (one opened & the other closed) and 2 facehuggers on their own flooring. The other is "ALIENS - Alien Warrior Lead Miniature Boxed Set #2", which contains six unpainted 25mm Alien Warriors in various attacking positions, from stalking to climbing up a wall. The sets are contained within black plastic PVC holding cases with foam insulation. Both of these sets were put out to use with the role-playing game and the expansion.

@Kaijudo Yeah, I bought a copy when it first came out for my Aliens-Predator-AvP-Terminator collection archive. I also have the one Expansion Pack Kit that was released. Here's the description of it from my archive list.

"More Alien-filled adventures for the Marines to face in this expansion of the ALIENS role-playing game. Features more scenarios (which include the battle aboard the Drop Ship, Ripley's Rescue of Newt, the Marines' Assault on the Lairs, an expanded version of the movie scenario and the desperate Hunt for the Queen), new rules (which cover Backup Weapons, Ammunition Restrictions, Fires Tournament Rules, the face huggers and the deadly Alien Queen herself) and a new full color map which shows the heart of the Aliens' lairs. Includes: 33"x 17" Full Color Map, 16 Full Color Alien Lair Cards and a 24 pg. Rulebook with B&W pictures from the movie."

@Geobaldi I don't mind at all :) Post links any where you like lol. I think a lot of board gamers should be aware of this game. It's a lost classic imo. How do the play tokens look to you?... I always wanted a way to make them slighty taller, like they are in the psychical version of the game.

@Phaota Wow you have the original and haven't played it yet?!.... It's a great game. Why it never went into reprint or picked up by like Fantasy Flight Games is beyond me. This game should have never gone out of print. But then again, maybe its a good thing, because Heaven knows, if it was still in print, we might have a bunch of expansions lol.

Thanks for wanting to help out. If you find anything it would be well appreciated. It would be cool to have figures in the game. One f the things I like to do is; use the space soldiers from "Pocket Tactics Freespace Privateers" It takes a little imaginations when it comes to flame thrower gun (none of them are holding a flame thrower)

I'm sorry I don't know how to do it; but i'll look into it when i get the time. It's not a big deal anyways, it was more of a question, because it's great how it is. I was just looking around on the link for screenshots that you gave us, and noticed figurines.

Thank you so much for you kind words, it means a lot! I so wanted to add figures to the game, but I have no idea how to 3D model. I found a site that had a a free 3D model of a Xenophon and Queen, but the texture (or mesh) wasn't done in the format that TTS uses, plus I couldn't find any colonial marines. If you make models or know someone that makes models, I'd add them right away lol.

First off, I love this mod. It brings a whole new side of boardgames that is far from the startegy games like stratego and axis and allies. Also, your porting is very well done and me gusta. Anyways, I was just wondering if there you were planning on making figurines for this game?
