The Mongol Empire was MUCH larger than the Roman Empire, but it was loosely united and held together only by terror. As soon as localities had a chance to kick out the Mongols, they did. On the other hand, the territories under Roman control stayed loyal to the Empire even after Rome itself fell.

The Mongolian Empire was a lot bigger in terms of area than the roman one

@Mr.Cat Well no mongol had the biggest land empire but since the roman empire spread acrossed the sea it was in fact larger and incase you wanted to know the biggest empire ever was the British Empire

Rome conquered most of the know world, that makes them a world empire, it does not count that the we later found out the the world was much larger. And the empire was much more that its size, the influence of the empire is still felt today more that any other empire in history. that makes them the greatest empire
Alexander's Heir  [author] 21 Jan, 2015 @ 6:04pm
@Frost
The impression 'conquered the known world at the time" is meant to show the power and glory of the Romans. Everything is not always meant to be accurate. Its just a glorifying term

I agree with MM the romans conquered the Celts and Hellinistic cultures that were around at the time but couldn't conquer the Germanic Tribes or didn't get as far into asia as Alexander did either. They were the most powerful empire around at the time but definetly did not conquer the world(the known world at the time)

@Cadis
Yeah it should be compatible with DLC's too
Argalos Shadow 17 Jan, 2015 @ 2:40am
greatest at their time yet no one can say who is really the greatest since they are protected by the difference of time is this also compatible in dlc games
Alexander's Heir  [author] 15 Jan, 2015 @ 9:17pm
@Master of Illusion
indeed they were.
Master Of Illusion 15 Jan, 2015 @ 5:59pm
Rome was the greatest empire ever to set foot on the Earth. No one came close to them.

@MM

@MM
sorry for the late reply,been busy with things.
The term "Over the world" indeed did have a little exageration to it.It was referring to the roman army, screw the politics and the weak emperors. The Roman empire was referred to as the cleansers of Europe as they took over half of it. Although it did not conquer the known world at the time the term still applies just to show their might. The same goes with Alexander and sometimes Napoleon. Ancient China I agree was a really strong empire but they werent united and they had problems with the Indians as well but if they all fought united they could have conquered lots of lands. China at that time was also repeling the mongol threat. You are right, but if the Romans had Reached China they would have actually Conquered them without a big hassle. . So the phrase is based on the the Roman army not the size of the empire.

MM 11 Jan, 2015 @ 3:29pm
"over the world" , oh please :D Roman empire never conquered even half of known world in ancient times. And they also cant do it , because ancient China was more powerfull.
Brw nice mod
Alexander's Heir  [author] 4 Jan, 2015 @ 9:24pm

Captain_Fork 4 Jan, 2015 @ 11:54am

Fury Road Warrior 28 Dec, 2014 @ 8:24pm
if i were to subscribe to this stat mod, and a reskin, like say the Imperial legions of rome mod, would they mesh well?
Alexander's Heir  [author] 28 Dec, 2014 @ 7:38pm
Yeah your right. Thanks for the extra info
Centurion 28 Dec, 2014 @ 7:27pm
ah, also armoured legionaries are based on the legions that existed a little later into the empire, the legionary cohort unit is the standard unit, also in answer to keiser, id imagine that this will be save game compatible.
Alexander's Heir  [author] 28 Dec, 2014 @ 4:49pm
@keisor soze Im not even sure but try to test it. But I dont think so.
@Pink Guy Eagle Cohorts were encouraging units. They were a few in every Roman legion.
But in this game they seem to be the main units of every army so I wanted to change that.
CIERVO VELOZ 28 Dec, 2014 @ 4:38pm
Saved game compatible?
Centurion 28 Dec, 2014 @ 4:32pm
the eagle cohort isn't even meant to be used as a main unit anyway, the idea is that you have one in every legion
