The screen pops up when you click on the Great Work icon (it's on the upper part of the province screen when one is built) and makes a "wooooom" sound. You can check existing Great Works, like Stonehedge (on Wiltshire) or Hagia Sofia (on Constantinople).
Not a major issue, just wondering if you could do it. ;)
Could you update this so that it also mutes the Great Work screen?
Thank you kindly!

The sound files for roosters are land_event_04.wav and land_event_06.wav.
Mod files are located at \Documents\Paradox Interactive\Crusader Kings II\mod\
1: unzip the mod file, "remove_ambient_noise.zip"
2: edit "\interface\sound.sfx"
3: find "land_event_04"
4: change "volume = 15" to "volume = 0"
5: find "land_event_6" and change the volume like in step #4
6: save file, re-zip the files as an zip archive, then overwrite the original zip archive

Thankfully I found out how to mute it. If you want to get rid it, unzip the mod and edit your sound.sfx file using notepad.
Add this to the bottom:
monastic_orders_indian_interface =
{
file = "monastic_orders_indian_interface_01.wav"
volume = 0
on_demand = yes
}
Thanks for the heads up.
Cheers.
Any updates for the different versions you mentioned ?
Cheers.
Can you make a separate version just for those? Pretty pleeeeeeeease?
That aside, this mod is invaluable.
If anyone with modding experience knows of a way to have sound files merged, please let me know as I'd like to accomodate as many suggestions as possible.
10/10 best idea ever.
