Good for trying to let your voice be heard but its quite literally 1 employee doing this and most likely they wont even view this, this post and in of itself is just another point of tf2's community repeating history for the 600th time
again good for you for trying to let your voice be heard but this is the 600th time someone has tried that

Personally i don't play enough to care too much, but if you have so much problems with warpaint's, the skins for guns, the guns you wont be starring at 24/7 when being shot at by a heavy sniper and scout then just stop, i personally just don't understand what kinda of purpose this gives y'all especially to be kinda desperate to get weapons to have warpaint's too aswell as make a whole complaint workshop submission but its just kinda crazy to me [note: i mean that in the nicest way possible] like yes if you want to achieve something good for you for trying to reach that goal but if its quite literally blocked by something you cant move even a inch then i don't think its worth it, valve doesn't even add the smallest updates cus they don't trust the community so suspecting them to go out their way to read an 11 image essay is fever dreaming yes its an easy fix but have y'all quite literally forgot the scout pants shit?

No, I literally mean it. War Paints, are built better than decorated weapons. When valve made the War Paint system as we know it today, they made it as simple and universal as possible. Decorated weapons are simply inferior tech. You can make what you're calling "decorated weapons" (we call them limited skins, or uv skins), with the war paint system. In fact, I've done it myself with Warning Colors, that War Paint is a limited skin. If you'll have a look at my whole workshop history, you'll see that almost every skin I've made is a War Paint, and despite being War Paints I'm able to maximize their potential. You might call Blood in the Water a decorated weapon, but nope, it's a genuine War Paint, same with Flak Furnished, Corrosive Caliber, and Old Lore.

War Paints have immense potential, that most people aren't aware of, both due to Valves lack of interest in the higher quality skins, and for the inherent difficulty of making these skins.

Disagreed, there are excellent Decorated Weapons on the Workshop that is not meant for all the weapons that the War Paint system allows to.

War Paints are a significantly better system

maybe just back decorated weapons?

I made 80% of the Gun Mettle esque collection images, youre free to use them all as you like. The only image I felt didn't come out right was the harvest collection, but if you can make use of them, be my guest.

Appreciate this post and the survey attached as well. Went and filled it out myself :)

War Paints are only weak because of a lack of effort from Valve for War Paint creation tools. There are some AMAZING custom coded War Paints that meet and sometimes even exceed Tough Break quality, but instead of getting those we get whatever is most recent from previously established creators. We have gotten some good WPs, but they are overshadowed by the other 70% of WPs that are decent at best and embarrassing at worst. Hope we see some change eventually.

Can I ask who made the images for each collection (in the style of the 2015 Gun Mettle collection images)? They are very well put together and quite useful. I may want to use them in a Steam Guide, but I would want to be providing credit.

Hope one day we see greater support for war paints.

There's a couple theories as to why War Paints are neglected so badly, but we don't know anything for certain

War Paints probably are so strained because it's EXTREMELY easy to just asset rip and call it a day. I'm pretty sure a few community made paints have done that.

Smart move to post this on the only place where Valve gives some input to this game

Sorry to hear that - your Ghastly Guns was amazing. I'll admit I have started to spend a lot less time on war paints for the same reason (though I've recently been amping back up in hopes we get a Swissmas release).

I agree warpaints should be held to the same standard as hat, but valve doesn't even do that with hats anymore, we get maybe 1 to 2 good hats a case now and the rest do not fit whatsoever. Here is hoping this gets them to at least listen a bit, but I'd honestly just be happy with the Collection system instead of the War Paint system if they don't, or do, give us both systems and leave the war paints for flashier stuff and collections to more TF2 themed stuff.

yeah it can definitely be a bummer when it feels like votes are totally irrelevant

It was my sentiments on how valve goes about selecting items. Funny that you yourself ask that, as I had a slide prepared, showcasing the award and favorites ratio on Ghoulslinger, compared to some items that were actually in the Scream Fortress update. Personally, I wouldve preferred Ghoulslinger over a bunch of what we got in the update. I'm merely asking valve to consider what the community votes on first. It isn't necessarily related to war paints, just a gripe I have.

what does the 6th image in this post have to do with warpaints?

>war paints inherently suck because 80% of them are ugly

do you know what "inherently" means?

He's right you know -kakakarrot cake
Simply  [author] 2 Nov @ 4:53am
What if I told you they can look good. What if I told you, that using code, you could even make a warpaint that doesn't wear
Delab LeFou 2 Nov @ 4:08am
War paints inherently sucks because 80% of them are ugly, and the 20% only look good in factory new. They're never going to be popular unless valve ditches the wear system

Cases with warpaints + weapon skins would be cool not gonna lie.

Whether this post gets dismissed as mere "complaining" or whatever I will stand by what you said here. It is correct.
